Kate, who was appointed as the Sponsor of HMS Glasgow in June 2021, was seen taking a central role in the proceedings by releasing a bottle of whisky, which was broken against the ship’s hull
The montage also showed another engagement from the Princess of Wales from earlier in the year, as she attended the Irish Guards St Patrick’s Day Parade in her role as Colonel of the regiment.
She could be seen receiving a salute and observing soldiers marching at Wellington Barracks in the clip.
While Kate featured heavily in the message in scenes sure to delight royal fans, Prince William was the focus of the second half of the tribute.

Kate’s observation of the Irish Guards St Patrick’s Day Parade in her role as Colonel of the regiment.
The first clip of William showed the future King in Estonia on a two-day visit to British troops near the Baltic nation’s border with Russia.
Visiting Tapa camp in March, the Prince could be seen in military fatigues and a beret as he observed war games and spoke with personnel in the canteen.
In another clip featuring the Prince of Wales, he could be seen visiting 4 Regiment Army Air Corps (AAC) base at Wattisham.
William, who could be seen arriving at the base by helicopter, became Colonel-in-Chief of the AAC in May 2024.

William’s trip to the Army Air Corps was also among the military visits featured.

The montage concluded with footage from Trooping the Colour earlier this month.
It showed the procession down the Mall and the RAF flypast over Buckingham Palace.
The Royal Family also issued their own message to mark Armed Forces Day in which it celebrated royals and their military contributions.
