As Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson’s relationship to the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein continues to emerge, their daughter Princess Beatrice turned heads with a decision which reportedly surprised Prince William and Princess Catherine.
The royal hosted an event at Riyadh’s Ritz-Carlton hotel in Saudi Arabia on October 27, which was billed as an “afternoon tea with Princess Beatrice of York”. The move raised eyebrows as her father’s links to the country were well-known during his ten-year tenure as the UK’s special representative for International Trade and Investment.
The event, which occurred amid her parents’ scandals stemming from their ties to disgraced American financier Jeffrey Epstein, also reportedly came as a surprise to the Prince and Princess of Wales.
A source told Closer Magazine: “It was seen as tone-deaf, especially given the venue’s reputation and the recent controversies surrounding Andrew and Sarah. William and Kate were genuinely upset when the pictures emerged. They have been very supportive of Beatrice and Eugenie and hope now that they will tow the Palace line.
“The Palace has made it crystal clear – every appearance must now be approved and vetted by senior aides before anyone gives it the go-ahead. There’s now a push inside the Palace to impose an “office-style” approval system on Beatrice and Eugenie’s future activities – to ensure there’s no repeat of such headlines. They can’t risk another scandal linked to the York name.”

Prince William gets incredibly warm welcome in Wales as woman rushes to hug him
The Prince of Wales has received an incredibly warm welcome to North Wales today, as he arrives for a series of visits to highlight young people living in coastal communities. Arriving in Colwyn Bay for the first time on Tuesday, William was greeted by members of the public and one woman even wrapped her arms around the future king. The woman, who was delighted to meet the prince, put her arms around William’s neck and pulled him into a hug. Laughing, William bent down and embraced the well-wisher.

Ever since she and Prince Harry stepped back from their roles as senior members of the Royal Family, Meghan Markle has frequently been criticised for continuing to use her title in a public capacity. While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex still retain their royal titles, they are not permitted to use them in public for commercial gain. The row was stoked again recently after details behind Meghan’s cover for US magazine Harper’s Bazaar were released. When the writer of the article, Kaitlyn Greenidge, met up with the Duchess to do the interview, she explained: “We’re in a grand brownstone on the Upper East Side that belongs to one of Meghan’s friends. When I enter, the house manager announces, ‘Meghan, Duchess of Sussex,’ even though we appear to be the only other two people in the house.” As well as frequently being criticised by royal commentators and fans of the Firm on social media, another Duchess has spoken out about those who use their titles so publicly.

King Charles could be set to travel to the US to mark the 250th anniversary of the country’s independence next year, it has been reported. Granted that the King’s health allows him to travel, the 77-year-old will likely be joined by Queen Camilla. It will mark his first visit since 2018, when he represented Queen Elizabeth II at George H. W. Bush’s funeral. The visit, which will likely see US President Donald Trump hosting the royal couple, looks set to take place in April.
