Lamar Jackson and Mark Andrews (Photos via Twitter)
NFL fans are losing their minds after fans rediscovered an old video of Lamar Jackson refusing to throw to a wide-open Mark Andrews — five years before the latter’s costly drop in Sunday’s Divisional Round tilt against the Buffalo Bills.
Mark Andrews is dealing with the mostly costly mistake of his otherwise tremendous NFL career thus far. Minutes after losing a fumble to stall a potential game-winning drive in Bills territory, Andrews failed to redeem himself by dropping an easy two-point conversion attempt that would have tied the contest with 1:33 remaining:
X/Twitter user @FootbaIIism brought up another interesting layer to the failed connection between Jackson and Andrews. Here’s a clip of the two-time MVP refusing to throw to a wide-open Andrews in the end zone during the Ravens’ Week 3, 2019 road game against the Kansas City Chiefs:
Social media had all sorts of wild reactions to this post:
“All running QBs take away TDs from their own players … but it wins MVPs …. Just not titles,” one fan said.

“Brother I am sprinting to my left with the ball in my left hand, tf you want???” joked another.
“Lamar throwing up his hands like “you know I can’t make that throw Mark!”, said a fan.
“Wild!,” wrote one user.
“Playoff Lamar,” wrote another.
Mark Andrews wasn’t available to the media after the game on Sunday or Monday. Obviously, the three-time Pro Bowler needs some time before he eventually faces the music and addresses the tough game.
The 29-year-old caught 55 passes for 673 yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns. In two playoff games, he had seven receptions for 88 yards.
Mark Andrews Can’t Take All The Blame
The “You win as a team, lose as a team” quote is not a cliché in this instance. It’s easy to point the finger at Andrews because of his two costly miscues, but the Ravens could have done plenty of other things differently.

They could have converted on their initial two-point conversion attempt in the third quarter, for starters. Jackson also had an interception and a costly fumble that led to Buffalo’s second touchdown.
Also, Baltimore’s stingy run defense could have done better than allowing 147 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
