Kansas City could see wholesale changes in 2025, but they may have just gotten a bit of luck.

This offseason is set to bring about a lot of changes for the Kansas City Chiefs. In the midst of a dynasty run, the Chiefs were dealt a harsh blow in Super Bowl LIX, losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in a way that exposed their biggest flaws. In a way, it was helpful in order to realize exactly what they need to work on this offseason.

It’s tough to know which holes on the roster they will need to fill, though. They still don’t know if Travis Kelce will be back or ride off into the sunset. They also have major contributors heading to free agency. Given their low amount of salary cap space, the team isn’t expected to be able to keep all or any of them. But Kansas City may have been thrown a lifeline on that front.

The NFL informed teams on Wednesday that the per-team salary cap for the following season will increase, rather substantially. This will give teams more money to spend, and could help the Chiefs keep some of their impending free agents.

Of course, it will also mean that players on the market will demand bigger contracts. So it’s not completely a given that Kansas City will be able to keep more players than they initially expected.

They will still need to make plenty of additional moves in order to create more cap space. The main priority appears to be retooling the offensive line, but keeping players like Trey Smith, Nick Bolton and Justin Reid will be paramount, too.

“Instead, he’s now reconsidering what he wants moving forward. He may come back next season.”

Interestingly, Kelce is still under contract with the Chiefs for the 2025 season, and during a media session before the Super Bowl, he expressed a desire to continue playing for at least three more years.

That indicates no matter what happened in New Orleans on February 9th, he was planning on extending his career beyond the football game at the Caesars Superdome.

Regardless, his decision is looming and the Chiefs have reportedly set a deadline for Kelce to decide on his future by March 14, before his $11.5 million roster bonus becomes active on March 15.

Dallas Cowboys legend and All-Pro guard Zack Martin is a pending free agent, and one NFL writer thinks he’ll take his talents to the Midwest.

The 34-year-old Zack Martin has spent his entire playing career with the Cowboys since being taken 16th overall in 2014. The surefire Hall of Famer has been named to nine Pro Bowls with seven First-team All-Pro selections under his belt.

The cap-strapped Chiefs could be in the market for a new guard with superstar Trey Smith slated to enter free agency. Many analysts project that he’ll land around $100 million in free agency, a price that would be too rich for Kansas City.

ESPN’s Matt Bowen listed the top 50 pending free agents of 2025, along with the best possible landing spots for each. Bowen ranked Martin 20th and made the case for the Chiefs to sign him if they lose Smith:

“We have Trey Smith fitting with the Bears, leaving an open spot on the interior of the Kansas City front. Martin still brings the blend of size (6-4, 315 pounds) and mobility that coaches want at the guard position.

Last season, Martin played in 10 games due to a right ankle injury, but his pass block win rate of 93.7% ranked 15th among guards. He could help keep that Chiefs interior strong (though the OT position also needs a lengthy look this offseason).”

 

Zack Martin missed seven games in 2024 but has otherwise been remarkably durable in his career, playing at least 15 games in eight of his 11 NFL seasons. As he enters his age-35 season, the future Canton member hasn’t shown any signs of a significant decline.

Andy Reid’s Chiefs face several difficult roster decisions with a tough cap situation and plenty of notable players scheduled to hit free agency. Well, the defending AFC champions have already made two notable moves with the new league year approaching.

Per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, the practice squad contracts of cornerback Steven Nelson and linebacker Cole Christiansen have expired. At this time, it appears neither will be back with Kansas City.

Nelson retired after spending the 2023 season with the Houston Texans, but the Kansas City Chiefs brought him back for roster depth in December. Nelson, who played for Kansas City from 2015 to 2018, never actually played a snap in 2024.

The 27-year-old Christiansen signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and spent his first two seasons there. Christiansen spent the next three years on KC’s roster, winning Super Bowl 57 and 58 championship rings.

 

Christiansen appeared in a career-high nine games for the Kansas City Chiefs this season after playing just 13 total games in the previous four years. He logged two tackles in the nine games.

An Instagram model going by the name “Destani” has been branded “the most dangerous woman in the NFL” as she’s rumored to have a child with Josh Jacobs and two other players in the league.

According to BlackSportsOnline, the Instagram model also has kids with Geno Smith and Eli Apple.

The site has been covering Destani’s escapades for a while and was among outlets to announce that she had added a third NFL baby daddy to her roster when it was said that she was expecting a child with Apple.

REPORT: Police Officer Involved In Tyreek Hill’s Arrest On Sunday Has Been Handed A Stiff Punishment, Internal Affairs Investigation Underway

One of the officers involved in the detainment of Tyreek Hill was handed a stiff punishment on the same day the Miami Dolphins wide receiver was forced to the ground and placed in handcuffs in a shocking encounter with law enforcement.

 

According to department director Stephanie V. Daniels, the officer, who is attached to the Miami-Dade Police Department, has been placed on administrative leave.

“Following the incident involving Tyreek Hill, I have initiated an Internal Affairs investigation to ensure a thorough review of the matter,” Daniels said in a statement, per NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero. “One of the officers involved in the incident has been placed on administrative duties while the investigation is conducted.

“I’m committed to transparency and accountability to the community with any situation involving my officers.”

The wide receiver was the talk of the football world on Sunday morning after he was seen getting apprehended by several police officers just a block away from Hard Rock Stadium ahead of the Fins’ Week 1 opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

San Francisco 49ers star wide receiver Deebo Samuel is on the trade block, and there should be no shortage of interest in the 29-year-old.

During Super Bowl 59 weekend, Deebo Samuel confirmed that the 49ers gave him and his agent permission to seek a trade. The 2021 All-Pro has one season remaining on a three-year deal he signed in the 2022 offseason.

Samuel is coming off a disappointing season in which he recorded just 51 catches for 670 yards and three touchdowns. San Francisco’s offense can get by without Samuel thanks to the presences of Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk, 2024 breakout star Jauan Jennings and first-round pick Ricky Pearsall.

A healthy Samuel is always a threat for 1,000 yards of offense (he had a career-high 1,770 in 2021), but the cap-strapped 49ers have an easy call to move on and proceed with their current set of playmakers.

The Buffalo Bills need a No. 1 receiver after trading Stefon Diggs last year, and with Amari Cooper likely to hit free agency. The defending AFC champions are the ideal landing spot f Samuel, who would immediately slot in as Josh Allen’s top pass-catcher.

Allen won MVP honors in 2024 and got the Bills within a few plays of the Super Bowl despite lacking a true No. 1 threat. Khalil Shakir was his lead receiver with 76 catches for 821 yards and four touchdowns.

What Bills Should Offer 49ers For Deebo Samuel

The Bills should offer the 49ers one of their two 2025 fifth-round picks (No. 171 or No. 175 overall) and their 2026 third-round selection for Samuel. It’s a fair price for an explosive pass-catcher, albeit an injury-prone player who’s entering his contract year.

For San Francisco, trading Samuel is mostly about clearing cap space here. Getting two draft picks for a player who needs a fresh start would be a small victory for GM John Lynch.

After more than a decade of waiting, Grand Theft Auto VI is supposedly finally set to come out in 2025.

Despite their hopes for a release this year fading, the community remains engaged in hopes that a second trailer will be released in early 2025 and a release date of the actual game will come out.
