Social Media Is Calling Out CBS For Their Inappropriate Crowd Shots During NCAA Tournament Game

CBS Faces Backlash Over 'Inappropriate' Crowd Shot During NCAA TournamentLiam McNeeley’s mother (Photo Via CBS)
CBS Sports is under fire for repeatedly focusing on a single fan during the 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The controversy unfolded during Sunday afternoon’s matchup between No. 1 Florida and No. 8 UConn, a highly anticipated second-round clash. While the game remained a tight contest, tied at 31-31 at halftime, much of the discussion online centered on the network’s decision to continuously spotlight one spectator, Ashley Elsey, the mother of Florida freshman Liam McNeeley.

The frequent cutaways to McNeeley’s mother sparked criticism from fans who found the coverage excessive and unnecessary. Viewers took to social media to voice their frustration, questioning why CBS repeatedly showed Elsey while other parents in the crowd received far less attention.

Many college basketball fans expressed their displeasure with CBS’s editorial choices, calling the frequent shots of McNeeley’s mom distracting. Commenters on social media urged the network to diversify its crowd shots instead of fixating on one individual.

“Over/Under of how many more times they’ll show Liam McNeeley’s mom in the second half?” one fan posted.

Another viewer echoed the sentiment, writing, “Please stop cutting to McNeeley’s mom after every play in this Florida-UConn game. Thanks.”

Some fans compared the situation to the NFL’s repeated coverage of Taylor Swift during Kansas City Chiefs games, highlighting that broadcasters must walk between engaging storytelling and overexposure. While networks often highlight notable figures in the crowd, many felt this instance crossed into excessive territory.

CBS has not commented on the backlash, and it remains to be seen if the network will adjust its approach in future broadcasts. With the tournament heating up and emotions running high, the debate over appropriate crowd coverage will likely persist. As the second half of the Florida-UConn game got underway, all eyes were back on the court, but whether CBS heeded the criticism remains a point of contention for viewers.

The Los Angeles Lakers suffered their second consecutive defeat, falling to the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night. Despite another standout performance from Luka Doncic, the Lakers were unable to keep pace, ultimately losing 115-146.

Throughout the game, Doncic displayed visible frustration with the officiating. One particular moment in the third quarter sparked his anger when Kevin Huerter pushed him from behind. Luka was left disappointed as the officials remained silent.

During a timeout, Doncic confronted the referees and walked back to the offensive end. His emotions got the better of him, and in the heat of the moment, he accidentally struck Josh Giddey. It resulted in a technical foul for the Lakers star.

The Serbian superstar was still fuming over the lack of calls. He openly expressed his stance, warning the officials about his approach moving forward.

He hits me first, I’m gonna hit him back. That’s bull****,” he stated to the refs.

Despite the controversial calls, Donic delivered another brilliant individual performance, finishing with 34 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. He shot an efficient 10-of-18 from the field and 6-of-8 from the free-throw line.

Luka Doncic’s performance against the Milwaukee Bucks on March 13 left a strong impression on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s brother, Thanasis Antetokounmpo. Speaking on his podcast, Thanalysis, Thanasis recently expressed his admiration for Doncic’s leadership and dominance, calling it his best game since joining the Lakers.

I loved it because I think it was his best game with the Lakers jersey. And him, just showing his greatness, no LeBron in the building. Just him leading the team,” said Thanasis.

Since being traded midseason by the Dallas Mavericks, Doncic has been determined to prove his value and silence any doubts about his ability to shine outside of Dallas. In that game, Luka scored 45 points and 11 rebounds, though the Lakers ended the game with a 126-106 loss.

Caitlin Clark & Paige Bueckers were violated in the worst way possible.

The newly drafted Indiana Fever star and UConn star found themselves trending online over the weekend after someone got ahold of some private pictures and videos and exposed them for everybody to see.

Caitlin Clark did not take pictures or videos of herself, but someone did sneak up on her while she was taking a shower, as she could be seen covering herself while in shock and holding a razor.

Paige Bueckers got it much worse than Caitlin Clark, as she was seen in significantly compromising positions with another woman in several photos and videos that showed a lot more action going on. This is incredibly disheartening for Paige Bueckers as she may not have come out to people close to her, and now she may be forced to do so because of this leak.

Supports of both would soon take to social media and purposely post uplifting things about them to drown out the real reason why they were trending, and Paige Bueckers took notice of it.

On Tuesday, the UConn Huskies star took to social media and finally broke her silence.

“The devil works hard, but God and the people around me work WAY harder. The outpouring of love and support from the WBB community is unreal. Love yall. Support women in sport ALWAYS,” she said in a short statement on social media.

It has been a pretty disturbing trend lately for young women to get violated by others, whether it’s photos being leaked or someone using artificial technology to create explicit content and share it with millions of others.

Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese has emerged as a vocal advocate against this invasion of privacy, calling for more robust measures to protect young athletes.

The issue came to the forefront earlier this year when Reese, along with Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers, became victims of this digital exploitation. As these young women continue to excel, people are continuing to tarnish their image with either fake explicit images or authentic images and videos.

Kay Adams from the Up & Adams Show had quite the day during the Denver Broncos training camp.

On Wednesday, the former NFL Network host hosted the “Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams” at training camp.

Adams would take to her Instagram and post some spicy pictures from her day, including one of her rocking a legendary Champ Bailey No. 24 jersey.

Adams could be seen posing in a mirror on a gorgeous day. She gave a backside view of the jersey and tight black pants she was wearing.

Eventually, Adams removed the jersey and went with the sheer sleeveless black top she had on, which showed off her black bra as she posed with players and spoke to head coach Sean Payton in the series of pictures.

Actress Gabrielle Union has women online in a frenzy after she admitted something to the world.

The legendary actress and wife to former NBA all-star Dwyane Wade said she still has fear that if a movie she’s in gets canceled, she won’t be able to pay her bills.

She then admitted she and the former Miami Heat legend split everything “50/50.”

Social media went insane learning about this information.

Wade earned an estimated $199 million in his NBA career, while a quick Google search says Union has a net worth of $40 million.

After playing 13 seasons with the Miami Heat, Wade briefly played for the Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers before returning to the Heat for his final NBA season in 2018-2019. In April 2019, he retired from professional basketball.

During his career, Wade won three NBA championships, all with the Miami Heat, in 2006, 2012, and 2013. He was the NBA Finals MVP in 2006. Wade was also selected to the All-NBA First Team twice and the All-NBA Second Team three times. He was an NBA All-Star 13 times and won the NBA All-Star Game MVP award in 2010.

The outspoken analyst has crowned a Lakers legend as the undisputed greatest point guard of all time, shutting down any noise about Stephen Curry taking the throne. And when the debate fired up? Stephen Curry once again made history as he drained the 4,000th three of his career in the Golden State Warriors’ win vs Sacramento Kings on March 13.

The four-time NBA champion picked up from where he left off as he added 28 points in their next game against the New York Knicks to lead his team to a 97-94 win on the night.

At 37, he has been playing some great basketball and now with Jimmy Butler in the lineup, it looks like the Warriors have enough to make another run at the championship.

Having secured all the laurels in his 16-year long career, he has lifted his name in the all-time great conversations, but moreover Curry has also elevated his legacy as an all-time great point-guard.

Many believe the Warriors star is the greatest point-guard of all-time, but not Stephen A. Smith.

Smith thinks Magic Johnson is the best point-guard over Stephen Curry

The NBA Countdown show were discussing the impact of Stephen Curry and how brilliant he has been over the years in the league.

Perkins named Curry as the greatest point-guard of all-time, but Smith took exception to his comment and said: “You want to call him the greatest point-guard to ever live when Magic Johnson is right in this city, a five-time champion, the greatest facilitator the world has ever known on the basketball court and you’re going use somebody over him, you at least need to explain why.

Smith stated Curry’s impact on the court is different, but Johnson was actually the player who had all the qualities required for a point-guard.

“When you listen to them talk about Magic Johnson being a facilitator, getting others involved that quintessential description of a point-guard will belong to Magic Johnson.

“When you talk about impact from the position because you got to keep your head on a swivel because you got to guard this brother the second he steps past half-court because he can shoot from 30, 40,50 [feet].

“His conditioning is just sublime, all of those things would point to Steph Curry validating what you [Perkins] said about him.

“To leave those things out and just throw out there ‘the greatest point-guard ever’ when Magic Johnson is still alive in this city, right down the road is sacrilegious,” Smith added.

Curry could breach the 5000 three mark

Curry became the all-time record three-point holder in 2021 and has since continued asserting his dominance from beyond the arc.

It took him just over three years to get into the 4000 threes club and it is only fair to think if he can breach the 5000 mark.

He is still playing the best basketball of his career and could certainly get to the mark if he stays fit.

His teammate Draymond Green had an interesting take on his achievement and the possibility of Curry reaching 5000 threes.

“If he want to he can get the 5,000, it’s just a matter of he wants to or not like if he wants to put that type of energy and effort.

“And if he want to he’ll get the 5000 before anyone else get the 4,000,” said Green on ‘Draymond Green show with Baron Davis.’

With Butler on the team, Curry has played a lot more freely and if he continues it for a couple of years, there is no doubt he breaches the 5000 threes mark.

And most importantly, how long will the Warriors be without their leader on the court? Here’s everything we know about the brutal setback…

The team’s star will be absent for a while during one of the team’s best moments in the NBA.

Alarm bells are going off inside the Golden State Warriors. We are sure that more than one fan held their breath when they saw how Stephen Curry fall and was left lying on the court this Thursday in the game against the Toronto Raptors.

The former NBA MVP had to leave the game that at the time was very even, but not before suffering a tremendous blow.

    Stephen Curry’s blow

Stephen Curry took a huge blow to his tailbone, which was his prop against the floor after an unintentional collision with Toronto Raptors rookie Jonathan Mogbo.

Golden State reported Curry’s injury for the time being as a “pelvic contusion,” and he is expected to undergo tests on Friday.

Normally, players with an injury of this type miss between 3 and 10 games, so it is likely that Golden State will have to make its entire next tour without its star player, it would certainly be a very important casualty for these last weeks of the Regular Phase, although at least if there is no fracture will not be at risk their presence in the Play-In or Playoffs.

After not returning to the court, the player finished with 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting (2-of-4 from 3-point range).

The Warriors had been one of the best teams in recent weeks since the arrival of Jimmy Butler, winning 15 of 18 games.

LeBron James’ wife, Savannah James, was among the many who attended celebrity stylist Casey “Icon” Billingsley’s birthday celebration. Billingsley expressed his gratitude by sharing photos with each guest on Instagram.

Savannah reshared the post and added a two-word caption to show love for her stylist.

Based on Billingsley’s social media posts, the event appeared to have an “all-black” dress code. Savannah rocked black leather pants, a matching leather coat, and a tucked-in top that completed her look.

Billingsley and Savannah met in 2021 through a mutual friend.

“When I first started working with her, it was like she was literally taking steps out of her cocoon,” Icon said about his relationship with Savannah in an interview with WWD in 2023.

Billingsley styled Savannah in a Schiaparelli pinstripe suit for the historic night her husband became the NBA’s leading scorer. He also helped curate her all-black catsuit for the Milan Fashion Week.

LeBron James’ wife Savannah recently matched outfits with Zhuri

Zhuri, Savannah, and LeBron James were spotted courtside at the Golden 1 Center to support Bryce James as Sierra Canyon faced off against Lincoln in the State Championship final. While the spotlight was on LeBron’s middle child, the James family also drew attention — especially Savannah and Zhuri with their matching outfits.

The family arrived during the pre-game shootaround with LeBron dressed in an all-grey sweatsuit and a blue cap. Meanwhile, Savannah and Zhuri coordinated with matching pink sweatsuits.

Their presence may have brought a bit of luck as Bryce contributed to Sierra Canyon’s 58-53 victory over the Stockton-based school. He recorded 3 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists, helping his team lift its first state title since 2019.

The No. 2 St. John’s men’s basketball team did not come to play around on Thursday when they matched a program record by earning its 31st victory of the season after taking down No. 15 Omaha, 83-53, in an NCAA Tournament first-round matchup at Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence.

Despite the blowout, it was a close game in the first half. Omaha found themselves down just three points at one time.

However, a three-pointer for St. John’s would extend that lead to eight.

Unfortunately, a cameraman would go live to the Red Storm’s bench area and accidentally catch an offensive moment that is sure to get one of their players in huge trouble.

Right after knocking down a three-pointer, a player who was on the ground near the bench began mocking the action of shooting a gun as he let off many rounds before the camera switched back to the floor.

This was not a good look.

In last Saturday’s Big East Championship Game against Creighton, St. John’s star RJ Luis Jr. stole the show with one of the best performances of his career.

Unfortunately, he dampened the moment a bit when he was also involved in a bit of controversy.

Luis Jr. hit a three-point shot to extend St. John’s lead, but then he got a technical foul for a gesture he made with his hands as he celebrated getting back on defense.

Luis Jr. made a gun gesture.

Gus Johnson and Jim Jackson, who were on the call of the game, thought it was a bit overblown to give the St. John’s star a technical.

“Ah, he got a tech right there for what he did,” said Jackson.

“What did he do?” replied Johnson.

“When he came down and gave the signal after he made the three-point shot,” added Jackson.

Everyone Is Making The Same Annoying Complaint About This Year’s NCAA March Madness Tournament

NCAA March Madness Tournament (Photo By MICHAEL CLUBB/SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images)
The first round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament wrapped up Friday night, and while 32 teams remain, the excitement level isn’t where many fans hoped it would be.

For the first time since 2017, all the top four seeds in each region advanced to the second round, going a perfect 16-0. That dominance has left some basketball fans underwhelmed, as they were expecting chaos, Cinderella stories, and last-second heroics.

Instead, the tournament’s opening act has been largely predictable. No. 13-16 seeds failed to pull off a single upset, and while a few double-digit seeds advanced, the lack of shocking results has led to complaints that this year’s tournament feels uninspiring. Fans took to social media to vent, calling the first round “boring” and “too chalky” after a string of lopsided games.

Fans Frustrated By Lack Of NCAA Drama

March Madness is known for its unpredictability, but this year’s opening round lacked the kind of jaw-dropping moments that define the tournament. The absence of buzzer-beaters and overtime thrillers has left fans craving more excitement.

“Four upsets in the round of 64 has made for a boring tournament so far (not counting 8-9 games),” one fan tweeted, summing up the sentiment shared by many.

Another added, “I love the NCAA Tournament, but this has to be the most boring year of first-round games I can remember. Where were the buzzer beaters? Close games and overtimes? Surprising upsets? Hope the second-round games are more entertaining.”

Bracket-watchers also noted the lack of surprises.

One fan wrote, “After the 1st round, I went 25/32 on my picks. That’s with picking upsets like UNC, UCSD, and Yale. It’s been a chalky/boring ride so far, but it’s because the tournament is so incredibly top-heavy.”

While the opening round may not have delivered fireworks, the tournament is far from over. The second round could bring the drama fans are waiting for as underdogs get another shot at shaking up the bracket. After all, March Madness has a way of delivering when it matters most.
