Dec Donnelly mingled amongst Hollywood superstar George Clooney and his wife Amal Clooney as they attended a star-studded reception at Buckingham Palace On Wednesday.

However as the TV presenter, 49, warmly greeted King Charles alongside his wife Alison there was one notable absence.

Dec’s co-host Ant McPartlin was no where to be seen as he failed to make an appearance at the King’s Trust Awards reception during the afternoon.

However it has now been confirmed Ant was away on a family holiday so was unable to make the reception.

The King’s Trust said in a statement: ‘Ant is currently away on a pre-arranged family holiday so is unable to attend today.

‘He will be back from his holiday to present The King’s Trust Awards tomorrow.’

It has now been confirmed Ant was away on a family holiday so was unable to make the reception, with Dec attending alongside his wife Alison (pictured)

Yet it isn’t the first time Ant’s absence has been noted after the Geordie TV star failed to attend the reception for the winners of the 20th Prince’s Trust Awards at the palace in May 2024.

King Charles couldn’t contain his laughter during a sweet encounter with Dec as he asked where his right-hand man was.

Explaining why Ant wasn’t able to attend his event, Dec joked that Ant was ‘too busy breastfeeding’ after welcoming his first child with wife Anne-Marie, a son named Wilder.

Dec said: ‘Good to see you, nice to see you too. He’s [Ant] not here today but he sends his apologises. He’s got a week old baby so he’s home breastfeeding or something.’

King Charles asked: ‘Is it his first one [child]?’

Dec responded: ‘Yeah, it’s his first one. They’ve got daughters from previous marriages but it’s his first one.’

‘So will you please give him my many congratulations’, King Charles added.

Dec said: ‘I will, of course.’

The Hollywood icon, 64, and his human rights lawyer wife, 47, dressed to impress as they attended the reception celebrating the winners at the palace.

The actor was back to his grey locks, much to the delight of his wife who George previously said ‘hated’ the freshly brown dyed locks he had for his latest Broadway show.

The couple couldn’t contain their smile as King Charles III chatted away to the couple before greeting guests.

The Clooneys have long supported the work of The King’s Trust, formerly known as The Prince’s Trust.

The Amal Clooney Women’s Empowerment Award, launched in 2019 with the Trust, celebrates the achievements of inspirational female youngsters around the world.

“I NEVER want to see them AGAIN!” – Geri Halliwell furious after frosty BBC Breakfast interview!

BBC Breakfast bosses were reportedly forced to apologise to Geri Halliwell-Horner after a very awkward interview with Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt.

During the awkward resurfaced interview from October 2023, Naga, caught the Spice Girl off guard as she asked: ‘Do you not like being interviewed?’

After the segment ended, Geri, 52, allegedly said she did not want to appear on the show opposite the pair ever again, The Sun have revealed.

A source told the publication: ‘Everyone noticed the interview was becoming quite awkward and then when Geri referenced Naga’s life directly things got really frosty.

‘Geri isn’t used to that kind of approach and felt ambushed, it unnerved her.

‘A few people apologised afterwards for Naga being a cow to her and then Geri made it clear she didn’t want to be interviewed by them again in future.’

It comes as BBC Breakfast staff defended their ‘overwhelmingly loved’ boss under fire from Naga – and claimed ‘he’s not a blly at all and the truth will come out’

MailOnline have contacted BBC representatives for comment.

At the time Geri appeared on the breakfast show to promote her latest novel and was outlining the ‘rules’ behind her drive.

She began: ‘First rule: have courage, take the chance you fear the most,’ pointing at Naga she added ‘which you did.’

The interview came just days after Naga had appeared before MPs to say she was ‘never taken seriously’ by doctors over her uterus condition.

Geri then continued: ‘Second rule, united we stand, we need each other. Third rule, never give up, be of service, be useful. Fourth rule, if you don’t like these rules, make up your own.’

Naga then interrupted, as she remarked: ‘Do you know what, you’re very interesting as an interviewee, making sure you’ve done your research on us.’

‘Well I think it’s polite,’ replied Geri as Charlie jokily added: ‘You’re pointing your fingers a lot, to be honest.’

The star added: ‘Is that rude? I’m so sorry.’

It was revealed last week that under-fire editor Richard Frediani (pictured) has reportedly taken an extended period of leave, after an internal review of bllying and misconduct allegations was opened into the show

Naga then asked her, ‘Do you not like being interviewed?’ as Geri replied, ‘I like communication’.

It comes as BBC Breakfast staff defended their ‘overwhelmingly loved’ boss under fire from Naga – and claimed ‘he’s not a blly at all and the truth will come out’.

It was revealed last week that editor Richard Frediani has reportedly taken an extended period of leave, after an internal review of bllying and misconduct allegations was opened into the show.

It was previously claimed that the show’s staff are feeling increasingly ‘uneasy’ around Frediani, and just last week it was claimed that Naga and other presenters no longer speak to their ‘loathed’ boss.

But now some have rushed to defend Frediani.

One of those members of staff told The Mirror: ‘He is not a blly at all and the truth will come out.

‘He’s a great boss and was – and is still – overwhelmingly loved by the team, who respect his drive, expertise, and journalistic ambition.

‘He has delivered great audiences and the first ever Bafta for Breakfast. He can be brash and opinionated but works so hard for his team and allows people to flourish.’

Another said: ‘Yes, he is old-school and can rub people up the wrong way but it’s always in the pursuit of great television.

‘It’s the best-rating breakfast show in the country – it’s not supposed to be a walk in the park.

‘Some – Naga included – need to understand this. It feels like it’s a case of presenter power turfing out a brilliant journalist.’

A BBC spokesperson said: ‘While we do not comment on individual cases, we take all complaints about conduct at work extremely seriously.’

Last week the BBC have reportedly launched a bllying probe into BBC Breakfast, which has been branded ‘t0xic’ behind the scenes in the latest crisis for the corporation.

Back in April, MailOnline exclusively revealed some staff had expressed unhappiness with the show’s editor Richard Frediani, accusing him of being on occasion ‘aggr3ssive’ and ‘belittling’ towards his underlings.

Now, tensions are said to be ‘rife’ between hosts and Charlie and Naga, who has already expressed her uneasiness about Frediani’s behaviour, with the probe said to have left the newsroom ‘divided’.

A source told The Sun at the time: ‘To the viewer BBC Breakfast is a warm, gentle programme, one that is flourishing in the ratings. But beyond the cosy red sofa it is a very different picture.

‘Several people — crew, production and even presenters — have been very unhappy’.

‘Tension between Charlie and Naga is rife.

‘Fredi is very old-school and has some slightly tyrannical tendencies.

‘He is very cerebral but also quite aggr3ssive in his methods. Some people think a recent promotion has gone to his head’.

‘Meanwhile, Naga, who is passionate about speaking up if she believes something is wrong, has spoken to people who are unhappy.

‘Formal complaints have been lodged, so the BBC has to be seen to act.

‘The probe has really divided the newsroom’.

More recently BBC Breakfast staff have reportedly compared the studio to ‘the Hunger Games’ after an internal review of bllying and misconduct allegations was opened into the show.

BBC Breakfast has been on our screens since 2000 and Fredani joined the show in 2019.

The Indiana Fever were able to put an end to their two-game losing streak on Tuesday after securing a much-needed 94-86 victory over the Seattle Storm.

The Fever were on the road on Tuesday, and they had to battle hard against a determined Storm side that was looking to improve on its 9-5 record.

Caitlin Clark had another miserable outing as the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year carried on with her recent shooting slump. Against Seattle, the 23-year-old scored just six points on 3-of-13 shooting and 0-of-6 from beyond the arc, while also committing another eight turnovers.

The Fever, however, saw Aliyah Boston step up to the plate amid Clark’s struggles. Boston did so in a major way, too, going off for a career-high 31 points on 13-of-18 shooting, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals in 33 minutes of action.

Indiana was still feeling the aftershock of Boston’s big game on Wednesday, which prompted a strong message from the team on social media.

“A round of applause for Aliyah Boston’s career-high 31-point performance last night 👏” the team posted on Instagram.

In the post, the Fever included several reactions from social media as Boston made all sorts of waves with her massive performance.

This wasn’t a one-off outing from the two-time All-Star, either. Boston was coming off a 26-point explosion in Indiana’s last game. In 14 appearances this season, the former Rookie of the Year has averaged 15.9 points on 61.7% shooting, 8.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.4 blocks in 29.6 minutes per contest.

She will have an opportunity to keep her hot streak going on Thursday when the Fever return to action in a home game against the Los Angeles Sparks.

Sh0cking Ancestral Secret: Sam Thompson Discovers the Truth behind his Family’s ‘Noble’ Name!

Sam Thompson was left ‘floored’ by a family bombshell as he learnt that his family ‘faked’ their posh name to ‘improve social standing’ on the most recent episode of DNA Journey.

The Made In Chelsea star, 32, appeared on the ITV show alongside his I’m A Celebrity pal Marvin Humes, 40.

Viewers can catch up on what the pair – who met in the jungle two years ago – get up to this Thursday, as they head off to Jamaica and Ireland to find out about their family history.

Sam’s real name is Sam Robert De Courcy Thompson and one expert went on to tell the pair about the meaning behind it.

The historian explained of his four time great grandfather: ‘When his third son Sydney as born, he gave him the name De Courcy, it was made up, maybe they wanted to be a little posh.

‘So he puts that on Sydney. This is happening a lot in this period of history…

‘People were affecting more prominent names to give their family some social standing. ‘

Sam said: ‘All I’m hearing is we faked it. I’m over the moon. I’m going to be honest with you.

    ‘I’ve got a signet ring… doesn’t mean anything.

‘We just gave ourselves a signet…

‘You know those people who now have rings, some people buy a knight ship and called them self sir or lady, that’s us!’

Shockingly, they also managed to find a connection to one another during their time filming the programme.

The star is told that he has a DNA match and goes on to meet his long lost cousin Connolly Patrick McCausland in a very posh estate.

Connolly told the pair that him common ancestor with Sam was a man and land agent called Robert McCausland – who owned 11 acres of Woolwich, London.

And the pair were left shocked when Marvin pointed out that is where he used to live as a child.

‘We’re so connected, man,’ Marvin told Sam.

While in Jamaica, Sam is left panicked when he finds out about a historic family member who spent time in the country, fearing colonial affiliations.

‘It doesn’t sound good, don’t say it..,’ he told the expert.

Fortunately, he learns that his ancestor had no links to slavery.

It comes after Fay Ripley gasped as her ‘mind was blown’ by some ‘insane’ family history unearthed on a previous episode.

The actress, 59 and her Cold Feet co-star Hermione Norris, 58, took part to find out their ancestry.

The pair headed off to St Paul’s Cathedral and Fay was told that she was related to a man called James Hardy, who was her four-times great grandfather.

Fay was left lost for words when she found out that the Hardys  – who were known as ‘elite printers’ – produced playing cards for where King George.

Their printing building – which was part of St Paul’s Cathedral – allowed them to watch over funerals of people such as the Duke of Wellington and Lord Nelson.

The expert said: ‘This is their building. This is where we are right now.’

    ‘This is amazing,’ Fay said.

The expert then showed a drawing of their building, which had ‘playing cards’ printed on it and he told her: ‘They didn’t just make any cards, one of the premium prints of playing cards in the country.

‘They were so good, their cards are still highly prized by collectors.’

The voice over explained: ‘Hardy and Sons playing cards were in such high demand, even King George owned his own deck.

‘Playing cards was so popular it became one of the most taxed products of the time.’

On Friday, Ginger relayed her joy for the journalist after he announced he had adopted a baby girl.

Dan posted a series of sweet snaps of him cuddling with the newborn as she nestled against his chest.

He also shared one pic of his daughter sporting a beautiful floral onesie, sunglasses, and a pacifier in her mouth while she lay on a baby blue blanket.

The Pix 11 reporter gushed over his newest addition in the caption: “BREAKING NEWS: I’m a dad!

Ginger Zee shares cryptic quote about ‘taking a rest’ & makes admission

“Say hello to my beautiful daughter, Olivia Rose Mannarino.
I’ve always wanted to be a dad and I came to realize that families truly come in all shapes and sizes and so I chose to grow my family through adoption.”

Dan continued: “I met Olivia when she was just hours old, and it’s been amazing to watch her grow, and her personality and curiosity grow with each passing day.

“I am beyond excited for this chapter and here is what I really hope everyone realizes because it is something I had to tell myself repeatedly, and it doesn’t just apply to this: don’t let anyone’s opinion stop you from living the life that you want. This is an absolute dream come true,” he concluded.

Ginger said some kind words for her colleague in the comments: “This message and new family give me and the world the love we need. Thank you and can’t wait to meet her.”

    CRYPTIC TWEETS

Days earlier, fans were shocked over Ginger’s cryptic posts, unlike the motivational and inspirational content she usually shares.

On Thursday, her Instagram story included a screenshot of a tweet from Terrence Lee, another news anchor for Fox 32 Chicago.

The tweet read: “If you’re compromising your needs, lowering your standards, or trying to change your personality to make others happy, you’re headed in the wrong direction.”

Ginger then added her own caption on the Instagram story above the screenshot.

“Feels so good to be slowly turning away from that wrong direction over time,” she said.

She also included a clip from New York City media personality Ben Aaron, seemingly asking if the anchor should replace her on GMA.

Although these could be referencing any number of things in Ginger’s personal life, it’s speculated that they could be about her career and the decisions she made with ABC News.

    TAKING A REST

These aren’t the first cryptic posts that the 41-year-old has included on her platforms.

She recently posted an image about taking a rest, prompting many to question if she may be under the weather.

Additionally, last week she included a message about letting go of the desire for control in life and letting it lead you.

Per her Instagram stories, Ginger seems to be a big fan of the Calm app, which is known to help with rest and wellness.

Her stories from Thursday and Friday include two posts with quotes from the application.

The first revolves around “adopting the peace of nature,” and the second says, “The Sangha is an island of peace.”

Peace has been a common theme for Ginger based on her social media, making many fans wonder about the stress levels she faces in her recent reporting.

She flew to France recently to report on the wildfires raging there for Good Morning America.

The California native is a known climate change activist and even the managing editor of the climate unit at ABC News.

“Sis… Without You – I Would’ve Di3d” – Robin Roberts’ Tearful Tribute to her Sister Who Saved her from Canc3r leaves GMA Fans in Tears!

Fans of Robin Roberts know that they can always count on her wise words by way of her daily morning message and prayer.

Her latest is nothing short of inspirational, as she reflected on a family miracle that saved her life when she needed a bone marrow transplant.

In 2013, the Good Morning America star was diagnosed with bone marrow myelodysplastic syndrome, a rare form of blood cnc3r, which left her needing stem cells from someone who was a match.

Ten years later, she reflected on the miracle that was her sister Sally-Ann, whose stem cells she used for the life-saving treatment.

“There are people God puts in our path who are not going to win by themselves,” she first said, adding: “They are praying for a miracle.”

She continued: “Become that miracle for them. They need your encouragement, that hug, to know that you care. Your kind words can put someone back on their feet.”

Thank you, that we can speak a kind word, lift them up when they’re hurting, and encourage them to follow their dreams. Help us to become their miracle.”

She then recalled: “I had my miracle, my sister Sally-Ann was a match, and it has been ten years that I have been back here at Good Morning America, able to come back to the desk, and in recognition of that, we have bone marrow drives all across the country this morning.”
