“I Did It, You Can Too” – A powerful message and a Special Gift from Ginger Zee that surprised and moved fans!

Ginger Zee is excitedly awaiting the release of her new book, A Little Closer to Home, and made the deal even sweeter for fans.

In anticipation of the book release being only two days away, the Good Morning America star took to social media to share that she was doing a giveaway.

She revealed that for the first few people to tag her in screen grabs of their order of her new book, she would be sending over a signed copy of her previous book, Natural Disaster.

Ginger wrote: “GIVEAWAY! Two days until ‘A Little Closer To Home’ comes out (and natural disaster is available in paperback).

“Tag me in your pre-order (please block out your address for privacy purposes) screen grab of ‘A Little Closer To Home’ and I’ll send a signed copy of Natural Disaster in paperback.

“I’ll just contact the first ten that tag me!

Many fans were ecstatic upon learning of the special offer and several immediately started tagging her in their order screen grabs, which Ginger shared on her Instagram Stories.

In the comments, one fan wrote: “Just pre-ordered you book. Can’t wait,” with another saying: “This first book did so much for me. Can’t wait to read your new book (and I Hate reading).”

The GMA host and meteorologist did share some disappointing news a few days ago, though, when she revealed that her nationwide book tour would not go as planned.

She announced that most of the readings had been postponed, with one in Pennsylvania being cancelled and the remaining two going virtual.

However, on Ali’s most recent Go Ask Ali podcast episode at the end of December, the doting parent gave an insight into their parenting style when answering a question about teenagers dating.

Reading out some questions from listeners who were wanting her advice, Ali gave her opinion to a parent who was looking for help with her own teens who had expressed an interest in wanting to start dating.

“How did you and husband handle dating with your kids?” they asked.

Ali answered: “Oh my god, dating! Well, dating at 14 and 15 is fine. They are old enough to ask someone out, and go to the movies or go out for a Happy Meal or whatever that means.

“But I think in terms of asking someone for a romantic rendez vous is completely fine. I think it’s very sweet that they want to date rather than just like each other on Instagram or hook up.

Ali and George are parents to teenage daughters Elliott and Harper, and reside in the Upper East Side of New York, close to George’s job at Good Morning America.

Ali previously gave an insight into their family dynamics during an interview in 2016.

Ginger Zee’s health diagnoses: Everything we know

    She’s been through so much

Ginger Zee has made no secret of her battles with her m3ntal health and her new book A Little Closer to Home delves even further into her struggles.

But it’s not only d3pressi0n which the GMA meteorologist has dealt with as a series of other diagnoses have reared their heads during her life journey.

The mom-of-two has been open about everything she has been through in a bid to help herself and others and here’s what she’s said about her conditions.

Ginger Zee and suffers from narcolepsy

Ginger’s sleep issues began when she was in high school when she would fall asleep at every given turn. But it took something incredibly serious for her to be diagnosed with narcolepsy.

Speaking to Narcolepsy 360 she revealed:  “I still didn’t know that [I was falling asleep] until I got into three different car accidents. I began closet smoking. I was doing everything in my power to stay awake while driving because I was so afraid of hurting myself and other people in the car.

“I couldn’t explain why I was falling asleep and it wasn’t until the third crash when I crossed the medium and almost went onto the other side of the highway that I got help.

A sleep study at the age of 21 revealed she was narcoleptic and she said that diagnosis was the start of her journey.

How does Ginger Zee deal with her d3pressi0n?

Just days before Ginger began her long-standing job at ABC, she checked herself into a m3ntal health hospital to seek help.

For years she had been struggling with d3pressi0n. She had attempted su1c1d3, been the victim of serious s3xu@l @ss@ult and felt she always needed to hide what she was going through.

Now she attempts to beat down the stigma attached to d3pressi0n and m3ntal health by being open about her own experiences.

She still goes to therapy and has “gray days,” but says they’re not “black” and hopeless anymore.

An excerpt from her new book reads: “The moment I mention my h0spitalization, though, people’s ears perk up and their eyes widen—the action I took still has a stigma. And that’s what needs to change. Like drug and alcohol rehabilitation, m3ntal rehabilitation should be looked at through the same lens. Disease. Treatment. Thriving.”

In an interview with People, she added: “I fought a disease called d3pressi0n that a lot of people fight every single day.

“The hundreds of thousands or millions of people who are dealing with or dealt with something I did, I want them to be able to fight without shame.”

    Ginger Zee’s battle with an0r3xia

In high school, Ginger also battled an eating disorder which would be ongoing for years. In a heartwrenching letter to her younger self, she documented the lengths she would go to to avoid food and how, after dropping to a “frightening size,” her mother checked her into a m3ntal health hospital.

While she gradually recovered, she admitted: “As you grow into an adult, you do a lot of work in therapy on the eating issues as well as what caused them, but you still spend about 80% of the day thinking about food.

Through therapy and support Ginger has fought her demons

“You’ll probably never be completely cured. An0r3xia, for you, is something that can be managed but never fully repaired.

“But every day you have a choice to be honest about how you are feeling and to take care of yourself.”

She added: “You are fortunate to have gotten out. Share your story and help others.”

    Ginger has b0rderline pers0nality dis0rder

It was following Ginger’s last attempted su1c1d3 in her twenties that she was diagnosed with severe d3pressi0n and b0rderline p3rs0nality dis0rder. The condition affects how the person thinks, feels and interacts with other people.

In a recent Instagram Q&A with fans, Ginger addressed this when she said finding the right therapist is imperative to treatment.

She is so thankful for her husband Ben Aaron and their children

“I thought he was mean and he was cold because he wasn’t like any of the therapists I had had before,” she confessed, but realized he was the right one for the job.

“Just as you can have a personal trainer who doesn’t work for you,” she said, you can have the wrong therapist too. “This personal trainer of my brain, he helped me so much.”

She concluded by saying: “Get the right therapist by getting the right diagnosis.”

“It’s helping people or making someone laugh or inspiring them to be better. That’s a real super hero. It’s their mom. My wife. And this is part 2 of her story. At times it’s gut wrenching and others it’s comedic but in the end it’s her life.

GMA host Robin Roberts opens up about WHY she and wife Amber Laign live apart — silences false rumors!

Robin Roberts and her wife, Amber Laign, may have only been married since 2023, but they have been together for almost two decades.

The GMA anchor and Amber have credited their successful relationship largely to an unconventional living situation, insisting it is the main reason behind their long-lasting romance.

    Marriage secrets

“The true secret: separate apartments,” Amber told E! News at the opening night of Jean Smart’s Broadway show Call Me Izzy on Thursday.

Individual homes aren’t the only secret to their happy marriage, as Amber added: “Communication, keeping it fresh, trust – all the good pillars.”

Robin agreed with Amber, saying: “Trust is very, very big. We’ve had peaks and valleys – mainly majority peaks, but there have been some valleys.”

She added: “Once we learned to not look at each other through the lens of our childhood, that was a real breakthrough for us. It was a real understanding [of] having different paths to get here.  I mean, 20 years. Something’s got to be working.”

Robin and Amber met in 2005 when they were set up on a blind date, which the GMA star admitted nearly didn’t ever happen, as she tried to cancel several times.

Luckily, she didn’t, and the pair have been each other’s rocks ever since, in both the good and the bad times.

The former sports broadcaster announced her engagement to Amber at the start of 2023. While speaking with author Gabby Bernstein about “saying yes” to things at the start of the year on GMA, Robin revealed that she and her longtime partner were saying yes to marriage.

“I’m hesitating, because I haven’t said it out loud yet,” she started, before revealing: “I’m saying yes to marriage, we’re getting married this year.”

In the caption accompanying the video, Robin wrote, “What a special time at home celebrating our 1-year wedding anniversary. Fans of Emmerdale have predicted a huge DNA twist coming in the latest storyline on the ITV soap. Last year, viewers were introduced to another member of the Sugden family, John, played by Oliver Farnworth, who visited the village when a relative di3d and ended up reluctantly staying and making it his home.

But he has quickly turned into the village villain as his sister, Victoria, played by Isabel Hodgins, tries to build a relationship with him, being none the wiser of his evil ways. So far, John has been involved in covering up the mrd3r of Anthony Fox, which was actually caused by Ruby Miligan and he also klled Nate Robinson, disposing of the body in the lake. And now it seems his next victim is already being lined up, with it being someone much closer to home next time.

In upcoming scenes, Robert Sugden is set to be k1dnapped and dr”gg3d as John is still embroiled in a fiery feud with his long-lost sibling – but is the village baddy the one behind the act or someone else?

A soap insider told the press: “Being released from prison and returning to the village is meant to signal a fresh start for Robert.”

They added: “Unfortunately, his homecoming is a disaster and it’s about to get even worse. After clashing with John again, there’s a very real chance Robert might not survive their c0nfr0ntation.”

But as the family come to blows with each other, fans at home predict that the brothers might not actually be related at all. Posting to X/Twitter, one fan suggested: “Is John really a Sugden? Don’t remember Jack being a psychopath #Emmerdale.”

Another echoed: “#Emmerdale Give me my wish that John isn’t a Sugden, because this is the second time Robert mentions John stealing other people’s lives… #Robron.”

While a third said: “Would you like me to arrange a DNA test for you and John, Victoria or should I get Jeremy Kyle on the phone? (They never did do a DNA test when John first arrived last August, Mrs Poundland just took him at face value) #Emmerdale.”

The Chase fans have been left up in @rms after the ITV daytime show was pulled off the air in a sudden schedule shake-up. On Tuesday (June 17), the afternoon quiz show was due to air with host Bradley Walsh at the helm.

But the programme was pulled from its usual 5pm slot due to coverage of the Royal Ascot on the opening day of the racing festival. The horse racing coverage began at 1.30pm and runs through until 6pm. The schedule change continues throughout the rest of the week.

No episode will air for the rest of the week, meaning viewers will have to wait until next Monday (June 23) to see the show again. It didn’t take long before fans flooded to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their disappointment online, with many tuning into the BBC rival quiz show, Pointless.

One user penned: “#TheChase since there’s no Chase tonight, it’s over to #pointless” as another quipped: “Not #TheChase I was expecting #RoyalAscot.”

A third echoed: “Just sat down to watch #TheChase but instead i get [horse emoji]” as a fourth chimed in with: “No 5pm repeat of #TheChase today or all week due to Ascot! So Pointless will probably double its audience to at least 10.”

The long-running show features a team of some of the UK’s best quizzers including Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace, Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan, Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis, Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett, Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty, and Paul ‘The Sinnerman’ Sinha.

The afternoon show first hit our screens back in 2009 and quickly became a mainstay on ITV. It sees regular contestants battle it out and test their general knowledge skills with the chance of taking home a whooping cash prize.

This isn’t the first time the quiz show had faced maj0r d1sruption this year. Earlier this month, the teatime show was taken off the air to make space for coverage of the UEFA Women’s Nations League, Spain v England.

The Chase also switched up its usual schedule last week when two Soccer Aid for UNICEF special episodes aired on Wednesday and Friday. Shaun Williams, David James, Lianne Sanderson, and Dion Dublin made up the team of four celebrities who faced off against Darragh Ennis.

While Dermot O’Leary, Lynsey Hipgrave, Kyle Walker, and Alex Brooker went up against Anne Hegerty on Friday night to raise money for UNICEF.

RUMOURS have persisted that there’s tension behind the scenes at BBC Breakfast – with Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty caught in the eye of the storm.

But those whispers reached fever pitch earlier this week, after The Sun exclusively revealed the extent of the t0xic atmosphere on set.

Worryingly, a bully1ng investigation has now been launched, following shocking complaints made against the programme’s “tyr@nnical” boss Richard Frediani – with insiders reporting he’s “aggr3ssive” in his management style.

But beyond the accusations stacked against the big boss, it’s now been reported that tension between presenters Charlie and Naga is at an all-time high…adding to the t0xic environment on and off camera.

It’s no secret that the co-stars often share disagreements on air, and aren’t afraid to playfully tease each other during their live segments.

They’ve even been described by fans as “spiky” in their interactions with each other.

Yet, despite the palpable tension, Naga and Charlie have always insisted their dynamic is nothing more than cheeky “banter” – and that they really are good friends.

Now, however, the rumours are louder than ever that – far from being playful – the BBC colleagues really are at odds, and their antipathy towards each other is getting increasingly harder to laugh off.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, celebrity body language expert Judi James says the proof is in the pouting.

“The playful disagreements do seem to provide a glimpse into what looks like genuine tension or irritation between Naga and Charlie,” Judi explains.

“There are hints of what looks like some genuine moments of frustration or even tetchiness.”

According to her, there’s a long list of “battle cues” that come from the pair’s eye movements, frustrated stares into the camera and straight-faced reactions – all pointing to a general feeling of unease on the famous sofa.

Charlie and Naga first started working together in 2014 – when she joined him on the sofa every Thursday to Saturday on BBC Breakfast.

At first, viewers were thrilled by their dynamic chemistry, and the fact they weren’t afraid to rock the boat on air.

To that end, they got increasingly comfortable with calling each other up on any faux pas or on-air mistakes, or butting heads if they didn’t agree on the topic of the day.

There are hints of frustration or even tetchiness

But over the past few years, viewers have become increasingly uncomfortable with the pair’s on-screen interactions.

As the eyerolls, deep sighs and interruptions have increased, so too have the rumours that there really is trouble behind the scenes, and that the colleagues may be protesting too much when they rubbish whispers of a rift.

Speaking to The Times in April, Naga insisted that she considered Charlie a “good friend”.

But then, she seemed to undermine her own statement, adding that you could easily “fake” an on-air chemistry.

“Oh, you can fake it, of course you can,” she said. “You wrestle with egos all the time, in front and behind the camera. Know your worth.”

So, the question is, are she and Charlie faking it after all?

Looking back at some of their most infamous interactions, the evidence speaks for itself.

    Cat among the pigeons

One of the Beeb stars’ most infamous rows broke out in 2022, while Charlie and Naga discussed homing pigeons.

Recalling the theme tune to the classic cartoon Wacky Races, Charlie insisted it was titled, “Catch The Pigeon” – as Naga claimed it was “Stop The Pigeon”.

As Charlie attempted to protest, Naga rolled her eyes, before looking online and confirming she was right. And – as he then continued to argue against it – she seemed to get more and more irate.

According to body language expert Judi, the short segment speaks volumes.

“Charlie started the disloyal-looking act by staring into the camera to enlist the viewer while Naga looked the title up,” she tells us.

Her body language seems to show genuine frustration

    Judi James

“There were then moments of mutual interruption of talking over each other, and this was when her body language seems to show genuine frustration.

“When she rolls her eyes, which is a dismissive gesture of frustration.”

Naga then looks at the weather man and gives another eye roll, which is the “inclusion of an invisible wingman” suggesting “other people on the show will agree with her.”

Judi adds: “Her irritated-sounding ‘I’ll stop now shall I?’ comes with another knowing look to the side and a mirthless laugh.

“Naga then leans back and pit-bares in a power display and performs an angry rustling of her papers.”

Still, at this point, it could still be considered “banter” – especially, as Judi points out, compared to all the “fake sofa chemistry” we often see on daytime TV.

But as the months and years have progressed, the mock indignation seems to be getting more legitimate.

    Call the mediator

Just look at a segment back in 2023, when Naga claimed they needed the weather presenter to “mediate” between them.

As Charlie said he felt relieved about the colder weather, as it meant he could stay indoors and watch TV guilt-free, Naga barked back, “I feel no guilt,” adding, “I think it’s going to be sunny.”

The weatherman then responded, “You’re right, Naga” – adding that it would “turn chilly” with “ a few sunny spells”.

Feeling vindicated, Naga joked, “Look at you mediating between us. It’s part of the job, isn’t it.”

Her comments were in jest but, as Judi explains, there was tension behind the banter – suggesting that the “chill” in the air was cooler than the weather.

Still, Judi gives kudos to Naga for standing her ground.

“There is still very unfair pressure on female presenters to be ‘bubbly’ and Naga doesn’t follow that rule,” she says.

“She is quite comfortable asserting her authority and even showing her displeasure at times.”

Later that year, the pair butted heads again, after discussing the nation’s favourite sandwich.

As Charlie listed the public’s top choices, Naga argued that people wouldn’t make something as elaborate at home as they might buy in a shop.

Seconds later, Charlie said, “I have to say, it is a very different thing, the sandwich you choose to buy off a shelf, to one you might make at home” – to which Naga retorted, “That’s what I just said.”

The pair may have, once again, laughed it off as playful ribbing, but the public felt the discomfort – and so did Judi, telling us, “Naga’s body wince did look more personal there.”

    ‘Mansplaining’ moment

Viewers were quick to spot Naga’s agonised face as Charlie went into a long-winded story about a race, in April 2025.

They were discussing Jamaican Olympic sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce – described as the third fastest woman in history – competing in the “parents’ race” at her children’s sports day.

Charlie told a long story about sports presenter Mike Bushell competing against top athletes in a 60m race on a previous programme.

One viewer sarcastically quipped on X: “As ever Naga looking impressed with Charlie’s mansplaining of the trivial news item slot.”

And Judi says this is the perfect example of Naga refusing to fit the female presenter stereotype which viewers may be used to.

“The way Naga sustains quite a long and judgmental-looking stare through Charlie’s story does look a little harsh given the normal, traditional TV role-play where it will be the woman telling the self-effacing story while the man sits looking like an unimpressed alpha,” she says.

    Tensions high

Fast forward to today, and general consensus is there is trouble in paradise.

Taking to the sofa last week, Naga managed to mix up the names of sports presenter Mike Bushell and weatherman Matt Taylor.

As she self-deprecatingly laughed at her mistake, Charlie chimed in, “Maybe you’re getting confused because there’s a heat warning in place and it’s already affecting you!”

Once again, his comments could be laughed off, but – knowing what we’ve heard about the bubbling tension – it’s safe to say the sentiment did more harm than good.

    What now?

At this point, any suggestion that Naga and Charlie are anything more than spirited colleagues remains conjecture.

While Naga has insisted they’re good friends, Charlie himself has remained tight-lipped – but he’s always laughed off their sparring on camera.

A large part of the rumours are owed to the allegations stacked against breakfast show boss Frediani.

As The Sun reported, formal complaints have been lodged, accusing him of sh0uting at employees when mistakes were made on air, and k1cking a bin in a moment of anger.

Naga seems to reverse the formula

    Judi James

He’s also alleged to have physic@lly shaken a lower-ranking female editor – a complaint which the BBC upheld.

Naga, for her part, has been described as being “passionate about speaking up if she believes something is wrong.”

This has reportedly led to her coming to blows with Frediani – prompting incredibly icy relations between the presenter and her boss.

Meanwhile, sitting beside Charlie on the BBC sofa, she’s clearly unwilling to fall into any gender-stereotyped role, and play the “bubbly”, “giggling” female presenter.

As Judi explains, that might be why there are so many rumours swirling around them – because they don’t fit the usual breakfast presenter tropes.

“Naga seems to reverse the funny-girl / straight-guy formula, which is maybe not a bad thing,” she says.

“Traditionally, the woman would be laughing and nodding along in encouragement. The straight stares would not be seen as unusual if they came from the man.”
