SH0CK: Coronation Street star left in deep C0MA – UK TV viewers stunned!

Mikey North has opened up about his future on Coronation Street amid fears his character will die. Mikey has played Gary Windass for nearly two decades but there are real fears he could be leaving.

During a chat on This Morning about the big storyline with Gary, Mikey made a cheeky admission about his time on the Cobbles. He told hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, “Gary’s walked out and has gone missing. We find him in hospital in a coma.”

When soap expert Sharon Marshall joked that Maria was the ‘black widow’ of the Cobbles as those paired with her usually die. Mikey then said: “I think I’ve been with her five or six years counting, so I’ve probably got about six months left.”

Gary has been part of a huge storyline as of late – and is currently lying in a coma in hospital after being brutally attacked and left for d3ad. He disappeared from screens a while back after clashing with his wife Maria.

Lou had framed Gary and made it seem like he was having an affair. He left the Cobbles, saying he was going to stay with his mum Anna Windass – but Maria soon realised he had left her’s and returned home, only for him to be nowhere to found.

Gary is currently in a coma in hospital after a harr0wing attck – but what happened to him and will he be ok?

Asked if he was going anywhere, he said: “I hope not … If I am, it’s been a pleasure being on this show.” They also chatted about the Emmerdale and Coronation Street crossover and Mikey said he’d love to take on Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).

It was also revealed that there will be a flashback episode to explain what happened, as he teased “anyone” could be responsible. A mystery woman will be at Gary’s bedside but has told everyone his name is Chesney. Who is she though?

Mikey also revealed that he previously auditioned for another role – Chesney’s brother – but he didn’t get the role as he was too young.

Mikey previously opened up about filming the big fight scenes with Mick actor Joe Layton. Speaking about the arrival of Mick and Lou, he said: “They’ve been great. Their arrival reminded me of the Windass arrival all those years ago – coming in and ruffling a few feathers! I’ve been lucky down the years; I tend to get involved with a lot of new people who come into the show for short periods of the time. They’re always playing characters that, like I say, are there to ruffle feathers – the Pat Phelans and the Rick Neelans.”

He loves doing stunts himself and jumped at the chance to do the fight scenes with Joe.

“I’ve always said, ‘I’m probably not really an actor, I’m just a frustrated stunt man!’ I love doing all that, it’s my favourite part of the job. Whenever I get to do a stunt or a fight scene, that’s definitely my favourite part, and that was another good one,” he said.

“We enjoyed it, Joe was great as well – we certainly got stuck in! I realised the other day that I think I love it so much because I used to love WWE as a kid. I’m sure that must be where it all comes from – picking up the moves from watching that.”

BREAKING NEWS: ITV’s Latest Sh0cking Ruling sparks outrage among Lorraine and Loose Women fans!

    Richard Arnold
Richard Arnold’s future at ITV has been revealed

ITV is set to make a huge change to their daytime scheduling, with jobs being put at risk – however, one star is reportedly safe from the cuts. The big changes have left staff, as well as viewers, unsure of what the future holds for their favourites on the channel.

They have decided to overhaul Loose Women and Lorraine as part of new cost-saving measures. From 2026, Lorraine Kelly’s morning programme will be shortened to a 30-minute slot, airing from 9.30am to 10am instead of its current hour-long format. It will also only be broadcast for 30 weeks out of the year, meaning the stand-in hosts who currently replace Lorraine when she is on holiday will be out of a job. Loose Women is also facing significant changes, and will soon only be airing “on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year” according to ITV bosses.

The risks to jobs has left some fans wondering if their favourites could be axed. Thankfully, for those who love a bit of showbiz gossip from Good Morning Britain’s guru Richard Arnold, they have nothing to worry about.

He has reportedly kept his job amid the sweeping changes at ITV as some 220 staff face redundancies. Richard has fronted the entertainment news on the ITV morning show since it launched in 2014.

According to reports, he has been told he is safe along with his team, who are known as “RAP” for Richard Arnold Producers. A source told The Sun: “Richard is one of ITV daytime’s best-loved faces never mind on GMB.

“Viewers enjoy his slots and he remains very much part of the furniture.” Richard’s Good Morning Britain co-stars Andi Peters and Jeff Brazier haven’t had as much luck, however.

The pair have been lucky enough to call flying to far-out luxury locations part of their job, yet it won’t be for much longer. They would often pop up in some far flung location, encouraging viewers to try their luck and be in with a chance of winning thousands of pounds on shows, including Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women.

Yet, ITV will, reportedly, no longer be shelling out for presenters such as Andi and Jeff to sun themselves on sun-kissed beaches while working for the broadcaster in its latest cost-cutting exercise.

This year alone, Andi has broadcast from the Maldives, Australia, Cape Town and Florida while Jeff has jetted off to Thailand, Sri Lanka and Malta.

Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV’s Media and Entertainment Division, announced the changes in May, where he had said the changes were necessary to “generate savings”.

He said: “Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres.

“These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever.”

However, sources have told The Mirror some shows face a ‘d3ath spiral’ saying: “It’s not a case of viewers seeing less of their shows… it’s impossible to see how the high standards will remain the same.

“Some staff believe Loose Women and Lorraine in particular will enter a d3ath spiral… it’s just so sad. Just a handful of people will be working on each of those two programmes which has huge ramifications for how they are going forward.”

SH0CKING: The Salt Path EXPOSED AS FABRICATI0N? – Author Raynor Winn BREAKS DOWN responding!

SH0CKING: The Salt Path EXPOSED AS FABRICATI0N? – Author Raynor Winn BREAKS DOWN responding!

Lorraine stars have weighed in on The Salt Path controversy as author Raynor Winn said she’s living through some of the “hardest days” of her life.

ITV guests Nicola Thorp and Lucy Cave discussed the storm surrounding Winn’s memoir during their Thursday morning (July 10) appearance on the morning talk show.

Thorp gave a little background on the latest developments with the novel, telling viewers: “Lots of drama surrounding this story but she [Winn] has come out and she has said in a statement that the last few days have been ‘some of the hardest of my life’.

“She clarified that the book is, and I quote, ‘not about every event and moment in our lives, but rather about a capsule of time when our lives moved from a place of complete despair to a place of hope’. Lots of readers though, felt a bit duped, potentially, about what they were told in that story.”

Nicola Thorp and Lucy Cave on Lorraine
Author Raynor Winn has been accused of fabricating parts of her memoir(Image: ITV)

The scandal erupted after The Observer published an investigation into Winn’s memoir last weekend. The Salt Path became a huge hit when it was first released in 2018. It tells the moving story of how Winn and her husband, Moth, lost their home and decided to embark on a 630-mile hike along the South West Coast Path.

In the book Winn opens up about the physical and emotional challenges they both faced during that time in their life, including Moth’s diagnosis with a debilitating neur0logical d1sease, c0rticobasal d3generation (CBD).

However, The Observer has raised questions about the events depicted in the memoir. According to the newspaper, legal documents suggested the couple did not lose their home because of a failed business venture the way the book describes, but their home was actually repossessed after Winn was accused of emb3zzl1ng thousands of pounds from her employer.

The report also cited medical experts who expressed scepticism over whether Moth’s diagnosis and apparent recovery were consistent with the symptoms of CBD. Winn has firmly denied fabricating any part of her story.

Lucy Cave speculated about the reason why this has caused so much outrage among people who were originally fans of the memoir, responding to Thorp saying: “Everyone is completely obsessed and hooked with this story. I guess like you said there’s people who absolutely loved the book.

“It seemed like a real life-affirming story of resilience. I think in this day and age people just really want authenticity so I think when they feel they’re being tricked, it’s not well received.”

Winn took to Instagram on Wednesday with evidence of medical letters addressed to her husband Timothy Walker, which she said confirmed his ongoing treatment for CBD.

The author told followers: “H3artbreaking accusati0ns that M0th has made up his illn3ss have been made, leaving us devastated.” In a statement on her website, Winn labelled the Observer’s investigation into her novel “grotesquely unfair” and “highly misleading”, insisting the memoir was never intended to be a complete autobiography.

Despite the author’s defence, there has been a significant fallout from the investigation. PSPA, a charity supporting those with CBD and similar conditions, has severed its relationship with Winn and her husband. Meanwhile, planned summer appearances as part of her Saltlines tour have also been cancelled.

A beloved EastEnders star has officially called time on Albert Square for good, three years after her dramatic on-screen departure.

Linda Henry, known to millions as tough-talking Shirley Carter, has secretly quit the long-running BBC soap and ended any hopes fans had clung to in recent years that she might make a comeback.

Henry, 64, first joined EastEnders in 2006 and spent 16 years on the show. Her character Shirley became a central figure in countless explosive storylines, including one about the trag1c d1sapp3arance of her son Mick Carter, played by Danny Dyer.

Viewers saw Shirley cr::u::mble under the w3ight of gr1ef after Mick vanished at sea during a tense Christmas Day episode in 2022. Shirley gathered up Lady Di the bulldog and left Walford behind in emotional scenes, unable to imagine her life there without her son.

Shirley Carter was last seen on screen three years ago but fans have been hoping that the character’s absence was not permanent(Image: BBC/Kieron McCarron/Jack Barnes)

At the time, EastEnders kept quiet about Henry’s departure, with then-executive producer Chris Clenshaw assuring fans in 2023: “So, Linda Henry is currently taking a break from the show. But you know, when she walked off with Lady Di last year, in the wake of Mick’s disappearance, it won’t have been the last you see of her. I can say that for sure.”

However, fresh revelations confirm that Henry’s exit is permanent. A soap insider has told The Sun: “Linda quit EastEnders in 2022. The door was left open for a return for Shirley in the future because she was such a fan favourite but it was a final exit. Linda is very private and not one of the actors who wants to be a celebrity and didn’t want a big fuss so a lowkey exit made sense at the time.”

This announcement will no doubt disappoint fans who have been speculating about her return for years. One viewer commented on her absence from the soap last summer, saying: “I want her to come back for at least one more stint so she can get a proper exit.”

Others speculated that Shirley might return when her son Dean Wicks was facing a m::rder trial in the fallout of the big Six storyline, but this did not turn out to be the case.

While she may be finished with Walford, Henry is not done with acting. The actress is even reuniting with her EastEnders son as she stars alongside Danny Dyer in the second season of the Sky comedy Mr Bigstuff, which is her first new telly role in three years.

Henry is set to play Pam, no-nonsense mechanic at a family haulage firm, in the series about a mild-mannered carpet salesman whose quiet life is thrown into chaos when his estranged brother Lee (played by Dyer) suddenly comes out of hiding.

Show creator Ryan Sampson confirmed the news, telling Radio Times: “We’ve got Linda Henry, who was Shirley – Danny’s mum – in EastEnders, which is a lovely little Easter egg for the EastEnders crowd. That I’m really excited about. She is amazing.”

EastEnders star Frank Barrie has d13d aged 88, his agent has confirmed. The former soap star’s obituary states that he passed away on June 30 “peacefully at his home”, comforted by his wife Mary and daughter Julia.

The agent’s statement read: “It is with great sadness that we announce the d3ath of our beloved client, Frank Barrie, at the age of 88. He d13d peacefully at home, with his wife Mary and daughter Julia.” The actor was best known for playing the role of choir master Edward Bishop on the BBC soap. The character was a gentleman friend of veteran character Dot Cotton, portrayed by the late June Brown, back in 2010. His appearance on EastEnders marked his most recent appearance on screen. His other on-screen appearances included Emergency Ward 10, No Hiding Place, Softly, Softly, Special Branch, On Giant’s Shoulders and Queen Of Swords. He also found success as a director on productions of Shylock, JM Barrie and The Life And Loves Of Edith Wharton, all of which toured internationally.

Prior to this appearance on TV, Frank was incredibly successful as a Shakespearean actor. He had featured in countless Shakespearean productions, including Macbeth, Hamlet, and The Merchant of Venice Barrie.

He was also a member of Sir Laurence Olivier’s National Theatre Company at the Old Vic.

His acting debut came in 1959 during a production of Henry IV, Part 2 at the York Theatre Royal. Following the success of his first role, Frank then created his own one-man show named Macready!

It played in 65 countries worldwide, representing GB at the 1982 Commonwealth Games Arts Festival in Australia. The show also won Frank the London Critics Plays and Players Award for Best Actor when it was performed in the West End.

Tributes have begun to pour in for the late star, with Jonas Cemm, a theatre director who briefly worked with Frank, writing on X (Twitter): “Very sad to hear about the passing of the great actor, Frank Barrie.

“I worked with Frank only once, but it was a rich experience. He was a gentleman, a teacher and a supportive wing man. A true man of the theatre, who will be sadly missed. RIP.”

FORMER Loose Women star Andrea McLean broke down in tears as she confirmed her plans to quit the UK for Spain.

The TV favourite, 55, is starting a new life abroad after her business folded and she nearly d13d from pn3um0nia and s3psis.

Husband Nick stepped in for a comforting hug
Last night The Sun exclusively revealed Andrea is upping sticks and now she has opened up about her departure to fans.

Speaking from her home surrounded by boxes, she said: “I’ve had a bit of a shocker over the last few years, not only health wise but obviously my business failing.”

Andrea then grew emotional as she said: “What is made me realise is, oh gosh, you only get one shot and you have to seize the day.”

Her husband Nick then stepped in to give her a comforting hug.

She continued: “I’ve always wanted to live by the sea and in the sun, so that’s what we’re doing. The timing, of course, is not perfect. There’s never a perfect moment.

“What I realised at the start of this year is you don’t know how many moments you have left. You have to seize them.”

Focusing on the positives, she said: “It’s a good thing. It’s scary. No idea how things are going to pan out, but I’ve always been brave.”

Andrea signed off by sharing her desire to learn to paddleboard and do it everyday.

The dramatic life change comes five months after her empowerment brand, This Girl Is On Fire, was dissolved after failing to make money, despite a hefty investment from the sale of her Surrey home.

Around the same time the business was wound down, Andrea revealed she came terrifyingly close – just 24 hours – to dying after being struck down with pn3um0nia and s3psis.

Loose Women star faints and is left with nasty black eye – hours after Lorraine Kelly sports shiner on TV
Her move abroad will allow her to focus on her writing career, having already published three bestsellers – This Girl Is On Fire, Confessions of a Good Girl and Confessions of a Menopausal Woman.

television favourite for more than two decades, Andrea previously told how her endorsement deals dried up overnight when she announced she was quitting Loose Women in 2020 to focus on her business.

Suddenly, the money she was planning on using to fund the early days of the brand disappeared.

She said: ”On the day that I announced I was leaving, every brand dropped me… so I went from, ‘OK I knew I had this amount of money coming in and this much work that will see me through to the next six to eight months,’ it disappeared overnight.

”That’s how big a deal moving away from TV is. It was financially like a punch in the stomach, my safety net was gone. I was like, ‘Oh my god I only have my savings. I can’t turn back and change my mind. I have no other income.’”

Andrea turned to the stock market after selling her home and moving into a six-bedroom rental, but it remains unknown what sort of return she made.

The most recent accounts for her former business published in December 2023 showed it had just £292 in assets.

Her decision to leave Loose Women behind came after she suffered a nerv0us breakd0wn.

Announcing her exit live on air, she said: “Last year I had a nerv0us breakd0wn and what I felt was this year, collectively, the world had a breakdown and the experience I had means that this year I was mentally really strong to deal with everything that the pandemic threw at us.

“But it made me stop and think: ‘What do I actually want?’ If there is anything that can show us you only get one life…

“Are you living it the way you want? Doing everything you want to do? Being brave and taking chances? And I realised no.”

Through all her hardship, Andrea has had husband Nick by her side and now the pair are committed to starting a new chapter in sunny Spain.

UNDER-fire TV chef Gino D’Acampo is set to start a new life Down Under.

The 48-year-old is launching “multiple work projects” in Australia — five months after ITV cut ties with with the former This Morning favourite, following allegations of inappropriate behaviour while making shows.

The Italian cook is launching projects including two new restaurants and a culinary tech platform, 11,000 miles from his Hertfordshire mansion — now on the market for £4.2million.

Last night, Gino’s representative said: “He loves Australia a lot — the people, culture, cleanliness and environment.”

While Gino will keep a base in the UK, he will be spending increasing amounts of time Down Under over the next two years as he also sets up a new cookware range for the international market.

A source added: “Gino has had a fantastic career over here — and still has an incredibly loyal fanbase.

“But it’s been made clear to him that TV opportunities over here are few and far between in the wake of recent allegations, and that’s frustrating.

“While Gino has always denied any wrongdoing, he’s a pragmatist and knows it’s time for new adventures.

“He’s been inundated with offers Down Under following a really successful tour there.

“He spent some time in Australia a few years ago, and loved it. He still has a large social media following and plans to capitalise on that in the next stage of his career.”

The source said the star will be launching two new restaurants in Australia and will split his time between there and the UK for the next two years.

His wife of 22 years, Jessica, and their three children will remain in Britain.

Gino D’Acampo scandal deepens as it’s revealed he made ‘vile’ s3x slurs about Holly Willoughby – but ITV ‘ignored’ it
The source added: “But if all goes well, Australia is a full-time option.”

Gino is understood to be looking at properties in Melbourne, which he visited during his 2019 Aussie Escapes tour.

He won ITV’s I’m A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here in the Australian jungle in 2009.

The decision to sell-up comes after his restaurant empire racked up debts of £7.3million and went into administration before a buyer was found.

A source says he has bought a new house in the UK.

Last year, The Sun revealed Gino had been put on a language and behavioural course by concerned ITV bosses.

And earlier this year an ITV investigation found there were multiple claims of “unacceptable”, “distressing” and “horrendous” behaviour against him, dating back 12 years.

It was also claimed ITV ignored complaints over the star’s “inappropriate” treatment of colleagues, which included s3xist comments made towards former This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby in 2018.

He was also edged out of Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip after refusing to sign a morality clause.

Gino has firmly denied all the allegations against him.

“Can’t wait for you to be back on Gogglebox, the best,” exclaimed another admirer, while a fourth commented: “Nice to put a face to Ray, enjoy bet it’s roasting.”

Ray’s appearance is a treat for viewers as he has remained out of the spotlight during Jenny’s ten-year tenure on the hit Channel 4 show.

While Jenny and Lee’s hilarious escapades – from Jenny’s detective work in her H notebook during Line of Duty to Lee accidentally using her face cream – have become legendary, this glimpse into their off-screen life is a rare and welcome treat for fans.

Jenny and Lee, the inseparable duo from Hull, have shared laughter and pints together for over three decades, a friendship that sparked back in 1994 at The Crown Inn pub, where Jenny was pulling pints as the landlady and Lee was one of her most dedicated patrons.

Lee couldn’t help but give his witty take on their long-standing friendship: “I wish I’d never gone in the pub – it cost me a fortune. When I first met her, she had a perm and I can remember thinking, ‘She needs a haircut.’

“We were firm friends immediately. I don’t think we’ve ever had an argument. We’re too placid to argue. She makes me laugh too much for me to ever fall out with her.”

BREAKING NEWS: ITV officially announces hosts replacing Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley on This Morning – New Names that make viewers want to Switch Off!

ITV has announced the replacement presenters taking over from Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley over summer on This Morning.

The regular hosts will be taking their usual break, alongside Good Morning Britain ’s Susanna Reid and Lorraine Kelly, with a star-studded line-up pulled in to front the daytime programmes.

Alongside Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, who normally host This Morning on Fridays, famous faces such as Emma Willis, Rylan Clark, Josie Gibson, Rochelle Humes, Joel Dommett, Craig Doyle, Sian Welby and Andi Peters will be presenting the show.

They’ll be joined by former Love Island star Olivia Attwood, who is making her This Morning presenting debut, as announced earlier this year.

A post on This Morning’s Instagram page read: “This summer, get ready for the best staycation ever! Holiday from home as some of our favourite faces come together to entertain you. From sofa to sun lounger, brighten up your mornings with our all-star lineup, this summer on This Morning.”

“Can’t wait,” Sian commented, while Alison replied: “Yay.”

One fan meanwhile said: “Bring on Team Summer,” as another wrote: “Great line ups.”

Two years after joining Loose Women as a panellist, Olivia revealed her move to This Morning, saying it was “very exciting”.

“It’s a huge honour, I’ve grown up watching this show, and being a part of the daytime team with Loose Women has been the best experience and this feels very natural,” she added.

Cat and former Good Morning Britain presenter Ben took over from Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield last year, after he stepped down following his “unwise but not illegal” affir with a y0unger empl0yee being revealed, and Holly left months later for her own personal reasons.

The announcement of This Morning’s summer presenting team comes after ITV announced a series of shake-ups to morning programming.

Lorraine will no longer be one hour long, and will only run from 9.30am to 10am, for 30 weeks of the year on a seasonal basis.

Instead, Good Morning Britain will air for three and a half hours, and four hours when Lorraine is no longer on.

Loose Women has also been cut to a 30-week schedule, like the one it operated on until 2016. The changes will begin from January 2026.

Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV’s Media and Entertainment Division, said: “Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres.

“These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever.”

This Morning will continue to air from 10am to 12.30pm, its usual weekday slot, but will be moving to a new studio in central London.

Lygo added: “I recognise that our plans will have an impact on staff off screen in our Daytime production teams, and we will work with ITV Studios and ITN as they manage these changes to produce the shows differently from next year, and support them through this transition.

“Daytime has been a core element of ITV’s schedule for over 40 years and these changes will set ITV up to continue to bring viewers award winning news, views and discussion as we enter our eighth decade.”
