Bill Melugin, whose reporting from the southern border has become a fixture of programming on Fox News in recent months, says he’s not bothered by his work being spun for partisan gain.

“I’ve seen our footage spun on both sides of the aisle,” Melugin told the Los Angeles Times as part of a wide-ranging profile published this week on the former Southern California local TV reporter.

Melugin has broken a number of stories at the border that have served as fodder on immigration issues for Republican lawmakers and conservative media personalities, including some on his own network.

Bill Melugin 'fine' with his reporting for Fox News being 'spun' by both conservatives and liberals

“You’ll sometimes have people on the right wing using the footage to say there’s an invazion on the border. I’ve seen our same footage used by people on the left to say ‘We’re being so crule to these migrants. This country is showing no humanitee.’ All we’re doing is putting a mirror up and showing what’s happening,” Melugin said. “People are going to use it for their representative political commentary and that’s fine.”

Fox News draws a distinction between what it considers “straight news” reporting such as Melugin’s and its at times controversial but widely watched opinion programming hosted by big names such as Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham.

Carlson specifically has come under scrutiny from liberals and media watchdogs for his commentary on immigration, referring to the situation at the border as an “invazion.”

“I am willing to report for any show, anytime, anyplace, because if my reporting is going to be used, then who better to make sure it’s done right, and done accurately, than me?” Melugin told the Times.

A Politico report last fall, titled “A Doocy on the border,” noted that some White House officials have grown frustrated with Melugin’s reporting as they grapple with the government response and political messaging surrounding the situation on the border.

Melugin says the people he interacts with while reporting miles away from Washington appreciate his work.

“The Rio Grande Valley is traditionally a very Democratic area,” he said. “We’ve had locals come up to us, shake our hands and say ‘You know, we don’t watch Fox’ but they shake our hands and say, ‘Thank you guys for being out here to cover this.’”

BREAKING NEWS – Former Fox News staffer Karoline Leavitt announces Good News, spreading JOY across America on Independence Day!

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt Briefs Members of the Media, Mar. 19, 2025 - YouTube

In a move that captured attention across the nation, Karoline Leavitt — former Fox News staffer and now White House Press Secretary — delivered uplifting news that resonated deeply with Americans on Independence Day. Standing at the podium in the White House briefing room, Leavitt announced that Canada had decided to withdraw a proposed tax that many feared would burden American technology companies. The decision, described as a diplomatic success, reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen trade ties and protect U.S. economic interests.

Leavitt emphasized the administration’s commitment to creating a fair environment for American businesses and ensuring that innovation continues to thrive without unnecessary barriers. Her announcement came as millions celebrated the Fourth of July, adding a sense of shared optimism to the holiday spirit.

In the same briefing, Leavitt addressed serious concerns over antisemitism at Harvard University. A recent investigation concluded that the university had failed to adequately protect its Jewish students, prompting the administration to demand concrete changes. Leavitt stated firmly that federal support should never fund institutions that violate civil rights.

By balancing decisive action on trade with a call for accountability in higher education, Leavitt’s remarks reflected the administration’s broader goal: to build a stronger, fairer society for all Americans. Her message, delivered on a day marked by unity and reflection, served as a reminder of the shared values that bind the nation together.

David Muir, the veteran anchor of World News Tonight, recently marked an emotional milestone: a decade at the helm of ABC’s flagship news program. Since his debut broadcast on September 1, 2014 — then just 50 years old — David has become one of ABC’s most beloved faces, helping propel the show to the top of national television ratings.

David Muir Is Not Leaving ABC World News – Rumors Explained

On social media, David shared a treasured throwback photo with his father, Ronald Muir, seated together behind a news desk back in 1987. He captioned it with heartfelt gratitude:
“Ten years ago today I started anchoring World News Tonight. I’m so grateful to this team and to the viewers. I’ve been at this for a bit — my Dad and me, 1987 — our on-air chemistry was off the charts.”

The special anniversary quickly drew warm messages from colleagues and friends alike. Al Roker commented: “You do your family and CNY proud every day.” Close friend Kelly Ripa added playfully: “Congratulations on the fastest 10 years ever. Wow!” Meanwhile, Robin Roberts expressed her pride: “Incredibly proud of you David! Can’t wait for the next ten and beyond,” and Ginger Zee reflected: “What a beautiful moment to reflect — and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next ten years.”

David’s journalism journey began during his college years at Ithaca College, where he interned at Syracuse’s WTVH-TV. From 1994–2000, he became a full-time reporter there, quickly gaining recognition for his fearless international reporting. After a stint at WCVB (2000–2003), he joined ABC News, gradually taking on key roles — from anchoring World News This Morning, World News Saturday, to becoming co-anchor of 20/20.

Over the past ten years, David Muir has not only proven his skill and dedication but also captured the hearts of viewers with his calm presence and passion for journalism — just as he humbly acknowledged: “I’m so grateful to this team and to the viewers.”

In reality, David Muir’s father didn’t oppose his career out of a lack of love, but because he worried about the pressure and uncertainty of working in television. Later on, he remained proud of his son and apologized for once doubting his determination.

David Muir has an emotional milestone to celebrate — he officially marks a decade of World News Tonight, looking back on ten years of anchoring the ABC primetime news show.

The 50-year-old journalist and TV host was first named the anchor and managing editor of World News Tonight (rebranded from simply World News) in June 2014.

On September 1, 2014 he officially appeared in his debut broadcast as the World News Tonight anchor, a role he has since held to acclaim, consistently taking the ABC news hour to sky-high ratings and ranking as one of the most watched news anchors on TV nationwide.

Since then, he has also become the host of 20/20 (currently co-hosting with Deborah Roberts) and was named the lead anchor of breaking news and special event coverage for ABC News, a role previously held by George Stephanopoulos.

David reflected on the special milestone on his social media with a throwback photo of himself sitting on a news desk as a young boy with his father Ronald Muir beside him.

“Ten years ago today I started anchoring World News Tonight,” he penned. “I’m so grateful to this team and to the viewers. I’ve been at this for a bit — my Dad and me, 1987 — our on-air chemistry was off the charts.”

His many friends and colleagues shared supportive messages in response. Al Roker commented: “Our 6 degrees of Syracuse. I worked there a little earlier, 1974-1976, but you were influenced by the same folks who helped shape me. You do your family and CNY proud every day.” His close friend Kelly Ripa wrote: “This needs to be an off social media conversation, but congratulations on the fastest 10 years ever. Wow!”

Robin Roberts added: “Incredibly proud of you David! Can’t wait for the next ten and beyond,” with Ginger Zee gushing: “What a beautiful moment to reflect — and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next ten years.” Lara Spencer even joked: “I love this so much. Green in your color.”

David first got his start in journalism in college, anchoring local programs at his alma mater, Ithaca College. He interned at WTVH-TV in Syracuse when he was in college.

He graduated magna cum laude with a journalism degree in 1995, and was a full-time reporter for WTVH-TV from 1994-2000. David was quickly deemed one of the best local reporters in the Syracuse area for his fearless international reporting.

After a stint with ABC-owned WCVB from 2000-2003, he was made part of the ABC News reporting team and was even made an anchor on their early morning news program, World News This Morning.

In 2007, he was made the co-anchor of World News Saturday and was made the lead anchor of the weekend broadcasts in 2012, which was renamed to World News with David Muir. In 2013, he was promoted to co-anchor of 20/20 alongside Elizabeth Vargas. Elizabeth was succeeded by Amy Robach, who departed in 2023 and was succeeded in turn by Deborah.

SH0CKING – On-Air Incident on GMA leaves Robin Roberts shaken – At the End, Co-host Michael Strahan APOLOGIZES to viewers and Explains what Happened!

It was a fiery Thursday morning on Good Morning America as internet personality and Hot Ones host Sean Evans brought his famously spicy challenge straight to the ABC studio. And stepping up to the hot seat? None other than veteran anchor Robin Roberts herself.

Lara Spencer cheers on GMA co-host Robin Roberts during the Hot Ones challenge in the studio, shared on Instagram

Before the segment began, Robin was met with playful teasing from her co-anchors Michael Strahan and George Stephanopoulos. Michael quipped, “I love [Hot Ones]… I just wouldn’t do it live, just sayin’,” prompting Robin to fire back, “I know that you wouldn’t, so that’s why I’m doing it. You two said no.” George added with a laugh, “They knew not to even ask me!”

Taking the stage, Robin beamed with gratitude towards Sean: “Thank you for this, I adore you. I think what you’re doing is so brilliant, see I’m buttering you up right now.” Sean noted she was setting a new record by daring to take on the challenge so early in the morning, and Robin confessed: “Well, I didn’t say I wanted to do it live, I wanted to do it like everybody else. But okay!”

Michael Strahan makes long-awaited return to GMA but where is Robin Roberts? | HELLO!

Instead of the usual ten wings, Robin faced a condensed lineup of just three – mild, medium, and the hottest of them all. Throughout, Michael, George, and Lara Spencer watched from the sidelines, heckling and cheering in equal measure. At one point, Michael teased that Robin was stretching out her answers to avoid the spice.

As the heat built, Robin spoke candidly about her early career driving a school bus and working as a country radio DJ – stories that have gone viral in behind-the-scenes clips. By the second wing, she admitted, “I almost said a bad word.”

The final wing nearly brought her to tears. Through laughs and scoops of ice cream, Robin shared heartfelt wisdom from her late mother: “What I love about this is venturing out of your comfort zone, and that’s something that my mama also said.” Gasping, she even joked, “I’m c0ming to see you, mama!” – sparking laughter all around.

To close the segment, Michael Strahan jumped in with perfect comedic timing: “Robin, we were gonna have you read this tease…but we can’t understand a word you’re saying right now. It seems like the hot sauce got your tongue!”

In the end, Robin proved that sometimes stepping outside your comfort zone can bring the biggest laughs – and the biggest burn.

It was a spicy Thursday morning for the hosts of Good Morning America, joined in the ABC studio by internet personality and Hot Ones host Sean Evans.

The 38-year-old spoke about his viral YouTube talk show and bringing the spice to celebrities far and wide, and invited one of GMA’s very own to take it on — none other than Robin Roberts.

Earlier in the segment, Robin endured some teasing from Michael Strahan and George Stephanopoulos for taking on the challenge on the air, something she hadn’t anticipated doing originally either.

“I love [Hot Ones]…I just wouldn’t do it live, just sayin’,” Michael joked, with Robin quipping: “I know that you wouldn’t, so that’s why I’m doing it. You two said no.” George fired back: “They knew not to even ask me!”

Later in the show, after welcoming Sean on and briefly speaking with him about some of his most memorable wing-counters (Ariana Grande and DJ Khaled, to name a few), it was time for Robin’s turn in the hot seat (pun intended).

While walking on to the soundstage, Robin gushed: “Thank you for this, I adore you. I think what you’re doing is so brilliant, see I’m buttering you up right now.”

Sean mentioned that the TV anchor was “setting a record” by eating wings with him so early in the morning and was “honored” to hear that it was a dream of hers to be on the show. Robin replied: “Well, I didn’t say I wanted to do it live, I wanted to do it like everybody else. But okay!”

Throughout the show, though, Michael, George, and Lara Spencer sat on the sidelines and comically heckled their colleague, with Michael at one point even joking that she was prolonging answering the questions to distract from the wings themselves.

After the first wing, Robin was asked about her earliest jobs as a school bus driver and country music radio station DJ (which went viral after a recent BTS GMA clip was shared online), and after the second wing, she was asked about her early 3:30 AM days and training her mindset to accomplish as much. She even blurted out after the second: “I almost said a bad word.”

With the final wing (which almost left the host on the verge of tears), she imparted some of the wisdom left behind by her late mother, joking also: “I’m c0ming to see you, mama!” with her co-hosts dying laughing in the background.

“What I love about this is venturing out of your comfort zone, and that’s something that my mama also said,” she added through deep, slow breaths and scoops of ice cream.

Sir Rod Stewart has opened up about the breakdown of his marriage to his second wife Rachel Hunter. The 80-year-old’s first spouse was Alana Hamilton from 1979 to 1984, and together they have daughter Kimberly and son Sean.

After this relationship came to an end, Rod went on to marry former model Rachel, who was 26 years his junior.

At the time of the pair tying the knot, Rachel was 21, while he was 45, and a year later they welcomed their daughter Renee, followed by son Liam.

In a new interview with The Times, it is claimed that the Maggie May hitmaker met his current wife Penny Lancaster just a day after he split from Rachel in 1999.

Reflecting on their first meeting, he said Penny wanted his autograph, and he then asked her if she liked dancing.

“She was an incredible dancer, gorgeous, [and wearing] 6ft 4in heels,” he recalled.

While he was very fond of the Loose Women star from the get-go, Rod admits he was advised to be single for a while after splitting from Rachel.

“There were six months between Rachel and Penny because my bass player, who had Penny’s number, wouldn’t give it to me,” he explained to the publication.

The former couple officially divorced in 2006, and a year later he married Penny, with whom he shares two sons.

“Rachel left me because she was too young. My sister said I should never have married her in the first place, but it tore me to shreds,” he confessed.

Addressing his marriage to Penny, he went on to say she has “got everything” he’s ever wanted.

The couple have now been married for 18 years, and are still going strong.

Last week, the Loose Women star looked every inch the supportive wife as he played the legends slot on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury.

Also in attendance were the couple’s sons Alastair, 19, and Aiden, 14, as well as Renee and his daughter Ruby, whose mum is former model Kelly Emberg.

Ahead of playing at the festival, Rod and Penny celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary in style.

The couple spent the day hopping on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express to revisit the spots where they got engaged, tied the knot, and honeymooned.

One asked on Reddit: ‘Why is Bradley allowed to read the questions so much more quickly for the chaser? It seems so unfair. It gives the chaser a big advantage.’

And a former player on the quiz show replied to the comment reassuring them that ‘everything is fair’.

They said: ‘There’s a whole host of questions that, if you’re an experienced quizzer, you can guess before the question is completed.

‘That is the main advantage that Chasers have.

‘I’ve been on the show. They are very diligent on fairness.

‘They even have an independent adjudicator on set to watch that everything is fair.’

They added: ‘We had to reshoot part of our final chase after the adjudicator said an answer that Brad said was wrong, should have been accepted.

‘We didn’t challenge it, the adjudicator did.

‘It was very clear to us that they wanted to be clear in how they did everything.’

And another took to the forum to give their views on what happens on the show.

They added: ‘This doesn’t happen. One of the biggest myths about the show.

‘There are independent adjudicators to ensure the game is played as fairly as possible, otherwise they’d get in incredibly hot water with the regulator.’

It comes shortly after fans raged after Bradley accepted an ‘incorrect’ answer from Jenny Ryan during the most recent instalment of the ITV show.

Monday’s episode saw Nick, 65, Laura, 41, Aiden, 22, and Vivienne, 59, take on Jenny, 43, AKA The Vixen in a bid to win some cash.

Despite their best efforts, only Laura and Nick made it through to the final round with £3k.

But one answer that Jenny put forward to host Bradley certainly ruffled a few feathers to those watching at home.

Bradley asked: ‘What colour indicates semi-skimmed milk on bottles?’

After pondering about her answer, Jenny said: ‘Red and silver.’

    Bradley replied: ‘I’ll accept.’

Many watching rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their anger – pointing out that it wasn’t ‘correct’.
