Former MSNBC anchor Joy Reid is not taking her dismissal from the network lightly.

Joy’s show, The ReidOut, was suddenly axed following what’s been described as a secret meeting with fellow MSNBC anchors Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell, and Nicole Wallace to plot against the network’s move away from liberal politics. The last episode of her program went out on February 25.

Renowned for her outspoken opinions on D0n@ld Tru:::p and other controversial issues, the veteran anchor reportedly faced resistance from network higher-ups. An insider confided to RadarOnline: “She’s livid, and she knows everything. She’s ready to burn the house down.”

The seasoned 56 year old broadcaster, associated with the network for over ten years, isn’t going quietly into the night. The source continued: “MSNBC wants her to sign an NDA, but that’s not going to happen. If they think they are going to silence her, they better think again.”

In the aftermath of Joy’s departure, MSNBC’s new president Rebecca Kutler offered words of appreciation: “Joy Reid is leaving the network and we thank her for her countless contributions over the years. Her work has been recognized with several esteemed honors, including most recently, the 2025 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding News Series. In the coming weeks, rotating anchors will host the hour.”, reports the Mirror US.

The axe dropping on the host sent tremors through the network, with co-anchor Rachel Maddow airing her dismay on The Rachel Maddow Show, describing the termination as a “bad mistake” and highlighting the unsettling fact that “two nonwhite hosts in primetime are losing their shows.”

Joy has been vocal on her show against D0nald Tru:::p, equating his term to fascism and attributing VP Kamala Harris’s election failure to “white women” who “did not show up for her.”

The anchor is unapologetic, asserting: “I am not sorry. I am not sorry that I stood up for those things.”

Post-election, viewers of The ReidOut plummeted by nearly half, reflecting a general slide in cable news audiences. This decline has prompted widespread job cuts at big-league media houses like MSNBC, CNN, and NBC.
