Fired The Apprentice star Liam Snellin has sunk his claws into Lord Sugar and revealed a secret moment where he fumed on set that wasn’t shown on the show.

Thursday night saw the workwear brand owner get booted off the BBC competition, as well as meal prep entrepreneur Mia Collins in a brutal double firing.

The entrepreneurs were tasked with creating their own environmentally friendly fashion brand, a capsule collection and even host a fashion show.

Workwear brand owner Liam was very disappointed when his teammates Mia and Anisa Khan picked Jordan Dargan to be project manager this week.

With Liam and Anisa on the branding side, Jordan and Mia created a skirt, crop top and jacket for men to wear.

The other team managed to bag the most orders, meaning that they lost the task and before Jordan could even bring anyone back, Lord Sugar fired Liam, and he was later followed out by Mia.

When asked if Lord Sugar made the right decision with the double elimination, Liam, founder of Comodo Work Wear, said: ‘The right people went for Lord Sugar, and that’s the most important thing. So he felt that me and Mia should have gone and we went. That’s fine.

‘You have to accept that. I do feel like he didn’t really understand my business.

‘He said to me multiple times throughout the process “builders don’t care about the way they look, they have builders’ bums,” and stuff like that.

‘My business is in fashionable clothing for work people and the tools.

‘So, you know, it doesn’t matter whether you’re working in an office, you want to look good – you wear suits.’

He continued: ‘But, you know, I’ve come from a background, working on the tools, getting my hands dirty, but you still like to go to the pub afterwards, you want to look good.

‘You might be on the train and see some of your pals or someone that you want to chat to, you don’t want to feel like you’re not dressed good.

‘So he didn’t really understand that concept, and I was trying to explain to him, the times have changed.

‘So when it was that late stage in the process, I just didn’t really feel that Lord Sugar was the business partner for me, because he just didn’t really understand the vision of what I’m trying to do.’

Liam thinks that Lord Sugar didn’t understand his business

Liam made it very clear that he was disappointed with not being picked as project manager and also didn’t think that they had designed the right items for the task.

And even Lord Sugar agreed with him – but it wasn’t shown on our screens.

He told us: ‘No geezers wear skirts and crop tops, and I have the right to be a little bit disappointed.

‘And even Lord sugar kicked off massively about the product, but you just don’t see it. He was just like, “what is that?”

‘He made it clear that the products were terrible, and obviously he didn’t see as much of that.

‘But that was the reality, that the products were terrible.’

Liam added: ‘He was fuming with the final outcome, when we first went in, he was fuming.

‘And then when we come back after we, like, stepped that side, he basically was like, “what is that?” “Who’s gonna buy that?”

‘He basically said everything I’ve been saying the whole way throughout the task.

‘To say that I was being despondent about something that is so obvious, it’s like, it’s like making a tailored suit for women.

Liam made it very clear that he was disappointed with not being picked as project manager and also didn’t think that they had designed the right items for the task

‘Women do wear suits here and there, but they don’t often wear a men’s shape suit, right? And if you’ve done that, it would be confusing, or you wouldn’t sell as many as you need to sell to win.

‘So listen, I left with my head held high. I stuck up for myself, just because I didn’t get jump on board with it. I’m gonna say true to who I am.’

The fashion guru also thinks that his team’s decision to make Jordan project manager could have had a motive behind it.

Liam said: ‘I think it could have been a tactical move, maybe, two wins in a row going into the final five as project manager… I think was mentioned to me off camera.

‘So the fact that, then, when it comes to the voting, and they never voted for me, I was a bit gutted, because obviously that, why say that to me?

‘And obviously say that I’m in clothing and fashion – this is perfect for you.

‘And then not vote for the person that’s perfect for.

‘I understand Jordan had some sort of like vision that he wanted to go through, but I think, if anything, the vision, just like confused everything, and I don’t even know how he was going to incorporate it into the upcycle.

Mia said: ‘I think you’re kind of left with no you’re kind of left with no other option. How can you get behind an idea that hasn’t been communicated?’

Explaining the thought process behind her products, she told us: ‘A lot of it was pushing things outside of the comfort zone’

‘The task itself for me was a big enough message to take to build a brand around.

‘I didn’t think we needed any external factors coming in.

‘I understand men’s mental health is very important, and I understand that there’s a new modern man. And men wear skirts or whatever they want, if they want, you know, whatever, crack on.

‘But at the end of the day, not a lot of geezers wear skirts.

‘You know, not a lot of geezers wear crop tops. We were trying to sell these in volume.

‘I feel like every every decision that was made on the design team was a poor one, like even down to the fact that they use one whole parachute for a skirt.

‘The whole point of upcycled fashion, or sustainable fashion is to use as little material as possible, but to make as many products out of that material.

‘And even that got lost. So, you know, the whole task was a shambles.’
