Hollyoaks star Stephanie Waring has received an outpouring of support from fans after she shared the candid truth about her new venture. Back in 2024, Waring announced that she was exiting the Channel 4 soap, having played Cindy Cunningham for 28 years.
Taking to TikTok today, the former soap actor shared that she had decided to start a shop on the platform, with the social media site having an e-commerce feature that allows creators to sell.
Sharing a video where she outlined her new career, Waring said (via The Sun): “So, why did I start doing TikTok shop? I’m an actress. I’ve been in the business for 30 years. Most of you know me as Cindy from Hollyoaks. But a couple of years ago, I left my job.

“I wrote a book, trained to be a life coach, auditioned [and] shot my first movie. Reality is, it’s been so wonderful to be able to do all of these other things, but one day my daughter gave me a packet of greens that she’s got off of TikTok shop.”
Speaking about the new venture, Waring explained that she had already used the shop feature herself and decided to try it out from a seller’s point of view, adding that the video “took off”.
“It then dawned on me that there are so many things that I use that’s helped me in midlife that I could be sharing. So I started to share more. And then what happened was an income,” she added, before saying that it was “for everybody”.

Taking to the comments section, several fans of the Channel 4 soap praised Waring for her latest career move, with multiple people commending the former actor for trying something new.
“It’s fab seeing you on here just doing the same as the rest of us, inspiring others, being real and funny. Also, you always look so beautiful,” wrote one fan, with another adding: “I love this. Trying so hard to make it work. I loved old school Hollyoaks.”
