HEARTBROKEN: Nick Knowles’ Wife Suffers Serious Health Scare After Bravely Speaking Out About Being Abused.

Nick Knowles said last month that he was temporarily stepping away from his TV commitments to support his wife, Katie Dadzie, after she was taken into hospital for treatment.
Ahead of his return to screens on July 25, his spouse issued an update as she continues to recover from surgery.

Katie needed an operation after suffering complications following a hysterectomy. She underwent the procedure last summer after enduring what she described as “years of pain” linked to polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis and adenomyosis.
Around three months into her recovery, the stitches in her cervix ruptured, triggering what she called “crippling” abdominal pain.
Recalling the ordeal as “the most terrifying day I’ve ever had”, Katie was taken to hospital just weeks after she and the DIY SOS presenter married at Braxted Park Estate in Essex in June 2025.

Nick later told the Daily Mail he had to “disappear” for a while to help his wife. “I’ve been looking after my wife a lot because she has been through it,” he said. “She’s had a lot of tough times. She’s got another operation coming up.”
Katie has kept followers updated online as she heals. In a post shared on July 10, she appeared in bed on day six of her recovery, admitting she had been “so unhappy and in so much pain”.
She said she was trying to balance the belief that the operation was the right thing “long term” with the frustration of feeling unwell and limited day to day, adding she was struggling with “how I look, how I feel, what I can’t do”.
Five days later, she said she was managing to get up and about again, though she remained “slow and sore”. More recently, she told fans she was still “living in her pyjamas” after treating herself to a new pair, as she continued to recuperate.

Horrific ordeal
Earlier this year, the businesswoman shared details of past abuse, revealing she had been raped by her father, who is now deceased, over “years and years”.
In an emotional Instagram video, she said she had never spoken publicly about what happened and had previously confided only in a small number of friends and relatives.
She explained she has since had extensive therapy and described herself as being “as balanced as I can be”, while acknowledging that recovery is not straightforward.
“There are times when it comes up,” she said, adding that ongoing support had helped her reach a place where she can cope as well as possible.

Katie said she chose to speak out after reading a CNN investigation into an online network where men allegedly share advice on assaulting women.
Reflecting on women’s safety, she said she believes people should be alarmed by the scale of domestic violence and sexual abuse, and argued that such crimes are typically committed by men — often by someone known to the victim, such as a family member or partner.
She also described how that fear can spill into everyday life, recalling walking back to her car after the gym gripping her keys tightly and feeling hyper-aware of who might be watching her.
Katie said women “shouldn’t have to worry any more”, adding that she’d experienced moments at the gym where men were shouting and crowding near her while she tried to work out.
