BREAKING: BBC Breakfast’s Ben Boulos issues Public APOLOGY after on-air blunder sparks backlash!
BBC Breakfast presenter Ben Boulos was forced to apologise to his co-star after calling him the wrong name. The news programme was heading over to look at the latest sports stories, with Ben saying the name ‘Olly’ instead of Hugh Ferris. Realising his mistake, Ben quickly apologised as his co-host, Luxmy, gasped: “Oh, Hugh! How could he?” Ben then shook his head and quipped: “How awful,” before Hugh laughed and said: “Listen, if you want me to be Olly…” and is likely referring to fellow presenter Olly Foster.
Hugh saw the funny side of the blunder and said, “Imagine if I changed halfway through the show and let everybody down!” Ben quickly moved the conversation on and started talking about golf, prompting Hugh to continue his presenting duties.

Earlier in the programme, BBC fans watching at home complained minutes into the show. During the live broadcast, Luxmy introduced the weekly Travel Show, which focuses on members of the team on their journey of discovery as they visit new destinations around the world.
Today saw Reece Parkinson visit America’s Deep South to explore the civil rights movement. In the programme, he met a woman who took part in the march in 1965.
He concluded: “For many here, the battle is not over. The spirit of Selma lives on. As I have found exploring the states of Georgia and Alabama, what happened here in Selma and the wider civil rights movement has had a lasting impact here, shaping the character of both states and passing the torch for future generations to run them.”
However, viewers complained as it was a repeat episode. After spotting the familiarity, many individuals took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their reaction.
“#BBCBreakfast #BBCNews #BBC why are you showing this episode of the Travel Show AGAIN??? I’ve lost count how many times this has been on in a row. Please, if you’re going to show repeats at least mix them up a bit!” one person typed.
Another commented: “I hate the fact they also show repeat episodes, it’s so annoying.” A third similarly echoed: “Great episode but we don’t need to see it again.”
