Kelly, 41, fielded questions from fans in a light-hearted video posted on Instagram by SiriusXM.
The satellite radio company shared a short clip of the star answering a fan inquiry about a challenging pet.
The fan asked: “When my cat, Kitty Clarkson, won’t stop meowing in the middle of the night, what will make her stop?”
The Stronger singer got a laugh at the cat’s name before responding: “I listen to lightning and thunderstorms as I go to bed, so that’s what I do. I get a nice little playlist of nature.
“I would then remove my animal from my room. Because that’s not cool, ’cause you’ve gotta go to work.”
Kelly went on: “And she’s just gonna be meowing all day, just hanging out at your house, you know what I’m saying? And then Kitty Clarkson will figure out, ‘You know what? When I don’t meow, I get to stay in the room.’
“Maybe it’s cold advice, but it’s the advice.”

Amid the drastic weight loss, Kelly has been showing off her figure more and more.
The American Idol star has taken the stage at The Kelly Clarkson Show in some daring ensembles in recent weeks.
On Friday, the musician showed off her long legs in a skintight brown leather skirt and a graphic T-shirt.
Her skirt featured a high slit up the front that revealed her thin legs.
Kelly chatted with Today show anchor Al Roker, 69, and shared behind-the-scenes pics from the appearance.
Al posed with the Since U Been Gone singer and his wife Deborah Roberts, 63.
His caption read: “@debrobertsabc and I honor our military with @kellyclarkson for #veteransday, discuss the #alrokerentertainment documentary @gaininggroundthefilm and get into our favorite new topic, our granddaughter Sky Clara.”
“So much fun hanging with Kelly,” Deborah added in the comments.
LOVING THE LOSS
Kelly has been open with fans about her weight loss journey on her show.
She opened up about it once more during a November 8 episode,
On the show, she spoke with Barbara and Jenna Bush Hager, both 41, about a variety of topics.
In the middle of the interview, Kelly shared a pic of Barbara and Jenna in matching dresses during their younger years.
“We were chubby,” Jenna claimed.
Kelly disagreed, arguing back: “You were not!”
“Well, we were,” the Today Show host replied.
Barbara jumped in, saying, “Not there,” which Jenna agreed with, saying, “Not there, but I was.”
Kelly argued: “I don’t think you know what chubby is.”
The conversation turned to not being able to fit in their clothes, at which point Kelly said: “Ugh, I don’t fit into mine. I love losing weight but here’s the thing. Jeans are so hard, I feel like when you have a butt and a smaller waist.”
Jenna questioned: “Do you want me to take you jean shopping?”
“I don’t want to go shopping,” Kelly responded.
“Shall I just do what I do for Hoda [Kotb] and send you some jeans?” Jenna inquired.
Kelly laughed as Jenna responded, saying they would “figure it out.”
