Fans of Celebrity Big Brother have been left flabbergasted after a video of Chesney Hawkes on the show 16 years ago resurfaced. A TikTok user took to the social media platform to share a clip of the singer appearing on the hit show in 2009.
In the clip, the One and Only singer, now 53, is seen appearing over the fence at the famous house. As celebrities took part in a challenge, a number dressed up as paparazzi. Among those disguised as press were Tina Malone and Lucy Pinder.
A Chesney shrine was set up in the living room for the task, with Terry Christian and Mutya Buena needing to worship it. They then prepared for a ‘what would Chesney do’ quiz.

While they questioned the answers, the singer’s hit tune blasted throughout the house, causing the celebrities to dance. As others prepared for a dance in the garden, one gasped: “Oh, quick, celebrity” to make sure those set up as paparazzi could grab an image.
The group squealed with excitement as Chesney waved down from above and shouted hello. They then started serenading the singer with his own tune as he smiled down on them. “Chesney, smile,” shouted Tina before they started clapping to the beat of his tune. “Chesney, I wet myself when I saw you” Tina then exclaimed to the laughter of fellow housemates.
Fans quickly questioned why more hasn’t been made of his past experience during this year’s contest. One user gasped: “WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN MENTIONED!”

Another added: “I watch this celebrity Big brother and I don’t remember this. what the heck?,” while a third said: “I remember this why had [sic] this not been rehashed while he’s in the house !!”
A fourth also confessed: “I’m surprised he hasn’t mentioned this,” while another said: “I’ve been waiting for this to be mentioned.”
Chesney is currently in the final of this years competition, with the winner to be revealed tonight (Friday, April 25).
While he has been a favourite on the show, the musician was close to tears after the recent round of face-to-face nominations. During the brutal task, Ella Rae Wise called out his behaviour when around Mickey Rourke.
Ella chose to nominate singer Chesney, claiming he was in the same environment as Mickey Rourke when he made a lewd s3xual comment towards her. She added that she believed Chesney should have defended her in the situation. The outburst left him taken aback and emotional.
During a conversation with JoJo Siwa, he Ella’s reasoning was given in a “bad tone.” He said: “It was pretty mean,” as JoJo believed the reality star was “trying to get a rise” from Chesney.
Chesney continued: “She was upset and she was angry and she kind of took it out on me, unfairly, I would say. I think the comment she made about me was the harshest one in that room to be honest. She questioned my being a man and not standing up for her.”
