Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood revealed he got βst@bbedβ in a π©π°π³π³π°π³ att@ck while on holiday in Madrid, Spain β before he was strip-searched by French officials looking for drugs. Craig recalled the horrific encounter on his Judgemental podcast, which he shares with fellow judge Anton Du Beke.
He explained: βI went on holiday in Madrid and got st@bbed, that was nice, and it was stinking hot. My jewellery was stolen as well, they ripped my necklace off my neck and gave me a big burn mark… It was a razor bladeβ¦ I was slashedβ¦ [in the] stomach coming home from a club, it was probably two oβclock in the morning, but thatβs sort of normal, you go out for dinner at 10 or 11.β
He was dancing at the Lido in Paris, France, at the time, and had gone over the border to Spain for a holiday which βended up pretty badβ.
Craig went on: βAnd then when I got back, I got strip-searched. I hadnβt shaved, so I did look a bit of a wreck, Iβd been st@bbed, I had burn marks all around my neck from where I was, like, att@cked.
βAnd then the French strip-searched me down to literally nothingβ¦. they were looking for drugs.β
Craig also recounted a disastrous trip to Kenya, when he found out his hotel had burned to the ground.
He said: βI remember flying to Mombasa in Kenya. It was all fabulous, I thought, βoh yeah, Iβm going on safari, thatβs going to be niceβ.
βGot out there, arrived, all the hotels and everything were paid for in advance, theyβre giving us a like a bus from the airport to the hotel, and they said on arrival, βyour hotel has burnt downβ.
βThe hotel was burnt down, and no one bothered to tell us until we actually arrived. Anyway, they found us another one, they just shoved us in there, [and] I went on, you know, a very romantic cruise down the River Nile..β
