Lorraine Kelly has announced ‘the end’ in a surprise social media post after being absent from her programme for the first week of 2025.
Over the past few days presenter Ranvir Singh, 47, has stepped in for the 65-year-old, after it was revealed that she hosted less than 60 per cent of her own show in 2024.
And on Friday morning Lorraine raised a few eyebrows when she posted the words: ‘THE END’ against a white background on her Instagram account.
However, she confirmed in the caption that the message has nothing to do with her show.
Lorraine captioned the post: ‘The two best and happiest words for a writer to type. Book two completed !!
‘Thanks to everyone who bought BOOK ONE – The Island Swimmer and made it a best seller.

The start of 2025 hasn’t seen Lorraine presenter her ITV show yet
She did appear on Lorraine for a pre-recorded instalment on December 31, but she was last live on the show on December 12.
Just last month it was revealed that Lorraine had hosted less than 60 per cent of her programme.
When Lorraine isn’t on our screens both Ranvir and Christine Lampard step in for her and Lorraine has only presented 154 episodes out of 258.
The likes of Andi Peters, Joel Dommett and Louise Michin have also helped out too.
It comes after Lorraine showed off her incredible figure in a throwback snap as she reflected on the success of her debut novel.
The TV star looked amazing in a bright blue swimsuit while out by the seaside.
Lorraine captioned the post: ‘Celebrating in Orkney with my lovely pal Nick when my first novel The Island Swimmer became a best seller this year!
‘THANK YOU to everyone who bought the book – I have been overwhelmed by your lovely comments – it’s on offer right now if need a wee extra Xmas pressie – I’m working hard on the follow up! ‘
That isn’t the only book Lorraine has written.
She’s also published the likes of Shine: Discover a Brighter You, Lorraine: Between You and Me and Lorraine Kelly’s Scotland.
Lorraine first hit our screens in 2010 and airs weekdays on ITV1 from 9:30am.
