In a new interview, Fearne Cotton opened up about her health and getting ‘back in the swing of things’ after a difficult time
Fearne Cotton has given fans an update on her life following her separation from ex-husband Jesse Wood last year.
The television presenter appeared on BBC Breakfast on Wednesday (2 July) to discuss the challenges she’s faced over the past year, including health issues.
Fearne, who has two children with Jesse, spoke candidly to hosts Jon Kay and Sally Nugent about an operation she had in December last year to remove two benign jaw tumours. She also discussed her recovery process, returning to work, and receiving support from fellow celebrity Davina McCall.
“It was the end of last year, it ended up being one benign tumour and a couple of lymph nodes that had to come out with it,” Fearne began. “But I’ve recovered well and I’m feeling good, and very grateful I think as well.”

She reflected on her decision to openly discuss her health struggles on her Happy Place podcast, revealing that hearing other people’s stories had been beneficial for her, so she decided to share her own, reports the Daily Record.
“I guess with the health stuff, I thought there will be other people who have nerve-racking things coming up health wise,” Fearne told Jon and Sally.
She added: “Actually, I found it really helpful hearing other people’s stories. A friend had the exact same operation, weirdly, two years before, and that was a massive comfort.”
The mother-of-two looked back on the time she took off to recover after her operation, revealing that she feels she’s now “back in the swing of things”.
Reflecting on her recent time away from the spotlight, Fearne said: “I think it was like a little pressing pause moment, which was no bad thing. It’s so rare that I take off any time and I had to properly rest and recover; it went quite quickly.
“I’m definitely back in the swing of things now,” Fearne assured fans about her return.

The timing of Fearne’s operation coincided with the news of her separation from Jesse, son of Rolling Stones icon Ronnie Wood. The couple, who had been together for a decade, tied the knot in 2014.
In a heartfelt statement issued in December through X, Fearne announced: “It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage.
“Our priority has been, and will always be, our children. We please ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time.”
