Prince Harry insider reveals Meghan Markle’s surprising role in royal reunion

Meghan Markle’s surprising role in Prince Harry’s reunion with King Charles has been revealed by an insider. The 44-year-old did not join her husband at the start of his trip last week, instead opting to travel to the UK with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, last Friday.
The highly anticipated royal gathering took place at Highgrove House, the King’s private residence. As well as the King, Queen Camilla was also present for the meeting with the Sussex family.

It has been reported that Meghan was likely present at the meeting to support her husband and be there for Archie and Lilibet – now aged seven and five – as they were in an unfamiliar environment.
Meghan has been described by an insider as being “very supportive” of Harry, and her role in the reunion between Harry and his family, shows her “always letting him lead”.
A source also revealed to PEOPLE that “There’s a lot of sadness” over how last week’s visit unfolded and that Meghan hasn’t be able to be right by Harry’s side.

The Sussexes have been at loggerheads with the royals for many years, with Harry no longer on speaking terms with Prince William.

Seen posing on the red carpet on his arrival at yesterday’s event, Harry was quietly named one of the TIME100 Most Influential People in Sports 2026 in the “Leaders” category.
Before Thursday’s event, TIME honoured Harry for his work with the Invictus Games.
Speaking of the Games, Harry told TIME that he was inspired to create the games on an international scale.
