Coronation Street viewers have been hoping for a long-lasting union between Carla Connor (played by Alison King) and Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) ever since they got together, and next week might be the time it finally happens. Fans of the ITV soap will recall Lisa popping the question to Carla following the tragic death of Craig Tinker (Colson Smith). But with Lisa’s emotions running high after losing her colleague, Carla admitted she did want to get married one day, but wanted her girlfriend’s proposal to come from love as opposed to grief.
In recent weeks, Carla had the idea to propose to Lisa by hiding an engagement ring in a glass of champagne, but she abandoned the plan upon learning that Lisa’s late wife, Becky, had used the same gesture to propose. Although Lisa recently stopped wearing Becky’s ring, ready to embrace her new life with Carla, there are still unresolved matters with her late wife.
But this is put to the back of their minds next week when the thought of proposing arises again.
A nervous Carla explains to Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) that she’d like to ask Lisa to marry her, but only with her permission. Betsy assures Carla that it’s a great idea.
Carla decorates the garden to set the scene for their romantic proposal as she leads Lisa outside, but things don’t go to plan once again.
After Betsy informs her mum about Carla’s plan to propose, Lisa reveals she’s got something up her sleeve. Will the couple finally get engaged?

Later, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) informs Lisa that Logan Radcliffe’s (Harry Lowbridge) uncle has been brought in. When Lisa mentions how Logan gave Carla a d3ad-end lead about Tia Wardley, Kit’s taken aback.
Kit calls the prison and finds out that Logan was segregated for fighting after Carla’s visit. As Kit looks up Logan Radcliffe and Tia Wardley on the computer, will he make a breakthrough?
Logan returned to the soap at the beginning of August when he was visited in prison by Carla, who attempted to find out whether Becky had been a corrupt police officer.
Becky was under investigation for corruption when she di3d in the line of duty, with Lisa now determined to uncover the truth about whether her wife was truly guilty.
