Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson isn’t ready to commit to a White House visit following the Super Bowl 59 triumph.

Johnson and the Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl 59 to win their second Lombardi Trophy in eight seasons. Along with securing another championship, the Eagles denied the Chiefs of the first-ever Super Bowl three-peat.

Every year, the Super Bowl champions are invited to the White House to meet and celebrate with the President of the United States. But in 2018, then-president Donald Trump canceled the Eagles invitation.

Several players and owner Jeffrey Lurie vocally criticized Trump, who’s serving his second term in office. Trump rescinded the invitation after multiple Eagles players said they wouldn’t attend the White House.

Per Sportico’s Eric Jackson, the Eagles team captain expressed interest in going to the White House this time around. However, Johnson said it’ll be “a team decision”, and that he’ll go with they all decide.

“I’d be honored to go, regardless of who the president is, but we’ll see,” Johnson said. “It’s ultimately a team decision. I’ll do what’s best for the team.”

Lane Johnson Adds 2nd Ring To The Trophy Room

Lane Johnson is one of four Eagles players remaining from the Super Bowl 52 championship team, along with Brandon Graham, Jake Elliott and Rick Lovato, to have secured his second ring with the organization.

Sunday’s victory only strengthens Johnson’s case for a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame after his playing career. The 34-year-old is now a two-time Super Bowl champion with six Pro Bowl nods, two First-team and three Second-team All-Pro selections.

REPORT: Details Emerge On Travis Kelce’s Reaction To Donald Trump Taking A Shot At Taylor Swift After Super Bowl

A new report reveals how Travis Kelce felt about Donald Trump’s attack on Taylor Swift following the Kansas City Chiefs loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59.

Trump was at Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans, Louisiana, making him the first sitting President of the United States to attend a Super Bowl game. The Eagles soundly defeated Travis Kelce’s Chiefs 40-22, denying the defending champions of a three-peat.

The crowd largely booed Swift (Eagles supporters vastly outnumbered Kansas City fans) when her face showed up on the Caesars Superdome jumbotron. As Trump is known to have issues with any celebrity who publicly criticizes him, he unsurprisingly took a shot at Swift on his Truth Social account after the game:

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Travis Kelce was upset about the crowd’s treatment of Swift at the game, as well as Trump’s “unnecessary” shot. Here’s what a source close to the future Hall of Famer told the outlet:

“He always protects her and it broke his heart. He was already having a tough night and the fact that the stadium was predominantly Eagles fans didn’t help. Travis knows that this hurt her and anyone can see this.

It’s clear to many that the Eagles fans feel she is a traitor of sorts – being from Pennsylvania and even wearing Eagles gear prior to dating him. Travis believes that it was unnecessary for Trump to take a dig at her especially after he voiced that he was honored for a president to be there.

After Taylor being shut out for a Grammy and Travis losing the biggest game of the year it just hasn’t been a good week for them. But he knows that even though this is not a happy ending to the season having her love gives him so much joy.”

Swift went after Trump on Twitter (now X) back in 2020 and vowed that he’d be voted out, which he was. The Grammy Award-winning singer endorsed Kamala Harris for the 2024 election, and though he won the presidential seat anyway, it’s obvious that Trump can’t and won’t let go of his grudge against Swift.

Travis Kelce Has A Decision To Make On His Playing Future

The 35-year-old Kelce has been the subject of retirement rumors for a while now, and it was reported ahead of Sunday that he hadn’t made a decision on his NFL future. Will Sunday’s loss deject him enough to decide it’s time to walk away, or will he just be further fueled to come back for another ring? Stay tuned.
