Mark Wright has shed light on his fatherhood. The telly star who found fame on The Only Way Is Essex became a first time dad last month, with him and his wife, former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan revealing she’d given birth. In a joint social media post, the couple shared a sweet black and white snap of their daughter.
Captioning their post, they said: “Together we have a new love to share… Our little girl. Palma Elizabeth Wright. 06.03.25.” During an appearance on ITV’s This Morning with his mate Olly Murs, Mark gushed over his daughter and revealed he’s getting parenting tips from his famous pals. Mark told hosts Sian Welby and Dermot O’Leary: “The best thing for me, he’s 11 months in front of me.
“I just have to ask him questions and he warns me about what’s next.” Mark added: “She’s absolutely amazing, she’s so good, she’s only five weeks old. We get to 11pm and she won’t wake up til 5.” Mark revealed that Ed Sheeran offered him advice, admitting: “It gets easier.”
Elsewhere, Mark revealed the meaning behind his daughter’s name and speculation surrounding whether they named their daughter after the Spanish resort of Palma De Mallorca. He said: “We just love the name, we love the name Palma with an er and then we just liked the way it read, so we just love the name really.”

He explained that he and Michelle “enjoyed” being parents to to their “incredible” daughter. He added: “They say it’s the best feeling int he world – they’re not wrong.” Earlier this week, Mark took his baby daughter to work with him at Heart Radio. Speaking on the drive time show, he said: “I’ve got a very special moment happening right now to me. I am doing the show to you on Heart, I love being here, I love playing the songs like Amy Winehouse on the way and Jessie J.
“But at the same time, I have got my baby Palma in my arms. It is the first time I’ve brought her to work, I mean, it’s only been five weeks, so you’d think so. But it’s just the best feeling ever! I don’t know if you’ve ever taken your kid to work before, but the pride that you have walking through the office and everyone going ‘Aw she’s so cute.’ She’s on my shoulder right now, and I better be careful because she might learn a few tricks and end up coming for my job one day, but I wouldn’t mind.”
But while Mark is enjoying being a first time dad, he has also opened up about the struggles he has faced and the warning nobody told him about. During a discussion on his Heart FM radio show with pal Olly Murs, he said his daughter was his “biggest achievement,” adding she was all he thinks about.
He also shared the meaning behind Palma’s name and how to pronounce it (

He said: “Every morning I wake up so excited just to see her face. That moment I held her for the first time… it gets me emotional just thinking about it. Everything else fades away, and you realise what truly matters in life.” He praised Michelle for the strength she showed while giving birth to their little daughter, describing her as a “superhero”.
He went on to add: “And it makes you realise, like what our mums did for us, and makes me have so much more respect than I already had and what women have to go through. But other than that, it’s the best feeling in the world. I wake up every morning just so excited to see her face. Every time I wake up, I’m like, ‘oh, she’s there’, and that moment when I held her in my arms, I mean, it gets me emotional now thinking about it.

“But it’s just, I suppose, everything else goes out the window, and it’s made me realise what life is all about. And my little baby, Palma, I love you so much, I can’t wait to spend my life with you.” When a listener called in to share that she’d had sleepless nights due to sorting clothes, Mark revealed his own struggle.
“Don’t even talk to me about being tired right now,” he playfully said. He went on to add: “Because Palma, my little one, is keeping me beyond tired. I walked in this morning, and Olly goes, ‘You look wiped out.'” Olly noted it was the first time in their friendship that he’d noticed bags under Mark’s eyes.
Mark joked: “They say dad bod don’t they? They never warn you about dad eyes,” as he reflected on having sleepless nights due to his daughter.
