During the GMA broadcast, George helped with a segment on Princess Kate and Prince William after her cancer diagnosis
He also shared an interview he conducted with the parents of WSJ reporter Evan Gershkovich, one year after his detainment.
Before sending the show back to his colleagues in NYC, he revealed he had a surprise for everyone.
“Hey guys, before you go, I have a special PA here in London today,” George, 63. teased, before revealing, “My daughter Elliott!”
GMA gave fans a look at all that was happening with a split-screen view of hosts Michael Strahan, Robin Roberts, and fill-in anchor Rebecca Jarvis on one side and George on the other.
The 63-year-old smiled as he waved his off-screen daughter to come closer.
“[She] is studying over here, so I was here for spring break,” George explained as Elliott appeared beside him on the show.
He hugged her into his side as she gave a quick wave to everyone.
After the brief cameo, she quickly left her dad to get off camera.
“Oh no, she got shy very fast,” George teased.
His co-hosts back in NYC laughed over the daddy-daughter moment.
After being called out by her dad, Elliott ran back to give another quick wave and to say an actual hello before leaving again.
“I decided to put her to work today,” George jokingly added.
Rebecca, who filled in for George at the anchor desk, teased in response: “I hope she brought you a nice, warm coffee, George.”
As Elliott keeps a relatively low profile, Robin said it was “great to see even a glimpse of her.”
“It was great to see her,” she insisted again, before adding to George, “Enjoy your time there.”
George Stephanopoulos cuddles rarely-seen daughters Elliott and Harper in wife Ali’s 63rd birthday tribute to GMA host
George shares Elliott with his wife, Ali Wentworth.
The two are also parents to a younger daughter, 18-year-old Harper.
As both kids are currently in college, fans usually only receive once-in-a-while updates about them on their parents’ social media or with rare mentions by George on GMA.
The empty-nesters were able to enjoy some family time with both of their kids a few months ago during the college students’ winter break.
The foursome flew to Japan for a luxurious getaway alongside another famous family – friends Jerry Seinfeld, his wife Jessica, and their kids.
