Robert Griffin III has this thing on social media where he tells his followers, “This is a safe space,” before he asks a question.
That was the theme this week when he took to his X account and asked his followers if they believed in God. He wanted to know the reason why or why they didn’t.
One Twitter troll fired back, saying, “Did you believe in God when your anterior cruciate ligament was torn?”
Robert Griffin III’s NFL story can’t be told without mentioning injuries.
The No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft won Rookie of the Year but was never the same after knee injuries sustained late in that first season with Washington.
In 2009, he tore his right ACL while still in college. In 2013, he tore his right ACL, LCL, and Meniscus.
Back on X, he would respond to the troll, “Yes. Praise God in good times and he bad.”

The fan then roasted him by stating, “Did you talk to God after cheating on your pregnant ex-wife, Robert?”
Ouch.

Controversy seems to find Robert Griffin III no matter what he is trying to do.
The 2012 No. 2 overall pick had a stellar rookie season, but an injury would pretty much ensure that his career would never be the same.
Being a celebrity means your personal life will always be in the limelight.
TMZ reported back in 2016 that the QB’s first wife was blindsided by his filing for divorce and the fact that he already had his new girlfriend’s name tattooed on his arm.
There were reports that he cheated on his wife, so he took to Twitter back then to clear things up.
Griffin wrote in a since-deleted tweet: “Set the record straight. My marriage failed. No home wrecking/cheating. So stop coming at my girl and my daughter with that nonsense.”

Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III and his wife, Grete, have become one of the more notable couples who put out content on the regular.
However, their latest skit has raised eyebrows.
On X, formerly Twitter, the married couple dropped another skit about trying to have “alone time” in bed.
Robert Griffin could be seen getting in bed with his wife. As he gets into the bed, the video shifts to show their daughter already underneath the covers, smiling from ear to ear.
Once he looked at his wife and under the covers again, a second kid showed up. Then, a third kid makes an entrance as he finally gives up and leaves the bedroom.
Here’s how social media responded:

“Only dude cornier than Russell Wilson,” one fan said.
“Yo Unc, you gotta chill😭,” another fan stated.
“Quit knocking her up, and you’ll have more “alone time”!!” a third fan stated.
“You are so weird, man,” a fourth fan added.
One final fan said: “Absolutely disgusting lol.”

Robert Griffin III had one of the most impressive starts to an NFL career in 2012 as he led Washington to the Wild Card round and won Offensive Rookie of the Year.
In that Wild card game, he would re-aggravate the knee, tearing his ACL and LCL, along with a meniscus, ending his season.
He would never be the same. After the 2013 season, he would never play in double-digit games in a single season for the remainder of his career.
In 2021, Robert Griffin III signed a multi-year deal with ESPN to become a college football and NFL analyst.
He was a rising star at one point, but by late 2024, he would be fired.
