“I’m the captain now!” – Brock Purdy erupts after $265M deal, VOWS to Bring 49ers BACK ON TOP!

The San Francisco 49ers just signed star field general Brock Purdy to a five-year, $265 million extension, which seems like it has been long overdue.
But the Niners move forward. And …
Now, according to Niners superstar tight end George Kittle, Purdy is taking a bigger leadership role around the team’s facilities and making sure people know he is committed to the team.

“One thing I’ve already seen from Brock this offseason… is just his voice is heard significantly more in the building, which I love,” Kittle said, via 49ersWebzone.com. “He’s always kind … but he’s just more vocal to everybody in team settings, which is huge… That’s what you listen for because he’s the face, the leader of the team… it’s just awesome to see a young guy keep his feet in the ground, and then want to work hard, and want to make all the guys around him really good.
“So, that’s one of the things I’ve just been happy with seeing.”
The Niners are coming off of a disappointing season where they finished last in the NFC West with a 6-11 record, but Purdy will be looking to prove that was a fluke.
Despite the team’s record, the 25-year-old quarterback racked up 3,864 yards and 20 touchdowns on just under 66 percent completion. The biggest reason for the 49ers failures was a ton of injuries, meaning not everything can be blamed on Purdy.
But the NFC West powerhouse will be hoping they can get right back to their winning ways, and that all starts with the guy under center.
