Australian singer Delta Goodrem is among the contestants in the 24th series of Strictly hoping to take home the coveted Glitterball. She will be joined on the dancefloor by the likes of reality star Dani Dyer, former England footballer Shaun Wright-Phillips and actress Jaime Winstone.
Delta, who finished fourth in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, said she has only ask of BBC bosses when it came to her perfect professional partner.
Speaking to the Independent, she said: “I love the glamour of it! My music has always been very piano-driven so this is my opportunity to learn something new and then I can take it on tour with me.

“I’m quite tall, so I’d love to have someone taller than me! I really don’t want to be the one that has to lift people.”
Delta, who closes out the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow tonight (Sunday. August 2), says this is her year of saying “yes to everything”.
It comes after former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Will Mellor exposed a weak link in the BBC’s new look line-up – but it’s not what people might imagine.
Tess and Claudia had been the show’s main presenting team for more than a decade, with Tess presenting the programme since it launched in 2004.
Will, who finished fifth with Nancy Xu in 2022, had his say on the new presenting team.

Speaking to Express.co.uk following his campaign with private healthcare firm Benenden Health, he said: “Change can be good sometimes, and I think it’s always going to be different, so people will have an opinion.
“I’ve known Emma Willis for a while, and I’ve met her on a few things; she’s a phenomenal presenter. She’s great at what she does, so I wasn’t surprised when I heard her name.
“Johannes is a beautiful man, he’s one of the favourites for everyone. I love Johannes; he’s a fantastic performer, and he knows the show inside and out.”
Then, Will attention to the stand-up comic, who he admits is a “wildcard” selection.
He continued: “Josh is probably the surprise of the three because I don’t think I’ve ever seen him present anything. So whether he’s just there as a fly-on-the-wall or what, I don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see, but he’s the wildcard for sure.
“That’s the one that I didn’t expect because I thought it was going to be Rylan. He did Strictly It Takes Two, he knows the show, and he’s worked behind the scenes. He was always there when I did it, and he’s interviewed me a lot of times. He’s fantastic at what he does.”
