‘HOW COULD HE FORGET SOMETHING SO IMPORTANT?’: The entire studio and live audience were in SHOCK over what happened to Mark Consuelos. The talk show with Kelly Ripa NEARLY TURNED into a DISASTER. What exactly went down?

You already know that, between on-air foot massages, highlighting nearly nude photos on Kelly Ripa’s phone, harrowing crotch incidents, and stripping down to wrestle another man in a singlet, Mark Consuelos — one-half of morning TV’s horniest couple — rarely can contain the himbo within. That notion manifested in literal ways on Wednesday’s Live With Kelly and Mark broadcast, as the actor paused the episode to reveal to the audience that his zipper was down for the entire opening segment of the program.

As he and Ripa, his wife of 29 years, segued into their fan-favorite, recurring Stump Mark game, Consuelos could be heard exclaiming, “My zipper’s down!” while the contest’s graphic flashed on the screen.

When the camera returned to the hosts’ table, Ripa looked down toward her husband’s lap.

“Did anybody notice that?” Ripa asked while Consuelos confirmed that, in fact, he was the only one to clock the bit. “No!” He replied. “My fly was down the whole time!”

At the end of the broadcast, Ripa and Consuelos read viewer comments they received during the show, with several fans pointing out that they noticed that Consuelos’ zipper was down before he revealed it on the air.

Kelly Ripa says Mark Consuelos won’t ‘really know’ her until she dies and he reads her secret journals

“I noticed Mark’s fly was open when he was speaking about Princeton,” one viewer said, referencing a topic Consuelos spoke about earlier in the show. “Sometimes it’s Groundhog Day every day,” Ripa joked in response.

Upon further review of the important footage at the beginning of the show, Entertainment Weekly observed Consuelos and Ripa walking out to sit at the Live table. For a comical segment at the top of the show, Ripa carried a giant skull out from backstage, while Consuelos walked beside her — and, at least from our vantage point, with his pants firmly zipped up.

So, what exactly happened in the roughly 12-minute disaster zone underneath the Live table, that resulted in Consuelos’ zipper going rogue? Perhaps we’ll never know.

Live With Kelly and Mark airs weekdays in syndication. Check your local listings for showtimes in your area.
