‘I WON’T LET 50 BEAT ME!’ This Morning host Ben Shephard BREAKS DOWN in bed – his words of Self-Reassurance over his health leave fans Heartbroken and in Tears.
This Morning’s Ben Shephard celebrates his 50th birthday today and, despite battling a persistent back and knee injury, he’s determined to be in the best shape of his life.
In a recent Q&A session with fans, Ben shared what has helped him through pain and addressed concerns about his back.
When one fan asked him how his back was, after his son jumped on him, Ben reassured them that all was good. “I have spent a long time working hard to try and reinforce it, so I have a very strong core and very tight glutes,” he replied.
The presenter also mentioned that he uses Glucosamine supplements for his knee and back pain, along with Vitals.
“[I use] Glucosamine for my joints to try and help with my knee and my back, using heights,” he shared. “Vitals, I think are amazing and their magnesium as well.”
According to the NHS guidelines, supplements of glucosamine and chondroitin have been commonly used for many years for the relief of pain in the joints, such as the knees.
However, there is very little evidence that glucosamine and chondroitin supplements reduce joint pain.
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) says that glucosamine and chondroitin supplements should not be offered to treat osteoarthritis (‘wear-and-tear’ of the joints).

The TV host has been dealing with a “a middle aged” back injury since 2018, which was exacerbated by a subsequent knee injury during a football match that required surgery.
On Instagram, he shared with his followers at the time: “Without realising, I have ruptured my ACL, I’ve torn the meniscus and I’ve fractured part of my leg as well.
“I carried on playing for 25 minutes. It turns out I severed all of my nerves which is why I carried on playing.”
Although marathons are no longer on the cards for Ben, who has completed 14 in the past, he hasn’t given up on fitness altogether.
The dad-of-two is embracing new physical challenges for his milestone birthday, which has so far included; 50 pull-ups, weightlifting, and cold water dips.
In October, he participated in Tough Mudder North West, a challenging obstacle course and mud run. Elsewhere, the presenter has taken on a new role where he will supervise contestants in ITV’s gruelling new reality competition, The Summit.
This show will test contestants with a demanding trek to the peak of a mountain in New Zealand’s south island, offering them the opportunity to win a portion of a huge cash prize.
