Weather presenter Brittany Begley has confirmed she was fired from her high profile role after she had an online rant. The 44-year-old meteorologist trashed her bosses and colleagues in the post, in which she also slammed the fact she had never received one of TV journalism’s highest honors – a daytime Emmy. In a lengthy post on Instagram she claimed she was “grateful” to have been relieved of her duties and said she agreed with their decision.
Alongside a series of images featuring reports of her inital complaint, she penned: “”No longer with KPRC — and for that, I’m truly grateful. Maybe you’ve read the headlines? I believe in accountability. This conversation won’t be going away anytime soon. I’m dedicating at least a weekly series to this as I compete in the digital sales and marketing space with integrity. Higher quality, better value, lower price. I’m proving to you that I operate with integrity through my actions and the emails showing how hard I worked to bring positive impact to KPRC. I wouldn’t say it if I couldn’t prove it. I’m not disagreeing with the separation,” she wrote.

She went on to post her reposnse to a New York Times article about her rant in which she said she is “an advocate for mental health” and insisting: “I’m not afraid of being disliked for saying what others won’t — especially when living paycheck to paycheck.”
She revealed she is aspiring to a “bigger role in TV where I can advocate for people like me who started from the ground up,” although she did not detai
She shared her frustration in a lengthy Instagram diatribe. She complained that despite years of hard work, she had never won an Emmy venting: “Never won an Emmy because the markets I worked in never thought traffic reporting was worthy of one.”

She also raged against he work/life balance of her role confessing she was: “tired of coming home to an empty refrigerator.”

Regarding her co-workers, she had said they would allegedly come into work “only to turn on the TV and watch a team normalise bad behavior: consistently late, not even mic’d up ten minutes before a show, then put it on air as a segment.”
She added: “I know I’m not alone. A lot of people inside and outside this industry feel exactly like I do.”
After her post went viral, she insisted that she hadn’t meant to insult her colleagues and only wanted to spread awareness about mental health.
Prior to joining KPRC, she worked at networks in California, South Carolina and Ohio.
