Rylan Clark has confirmed his new documentary series on Sky is airing in October – and it looks to be a perfect watch for the spooky season. Rylan and Professor Alice Roberts have teamed up for a series called Witches of Essex, which lands on Sky History on Tuesday, October 14 at 9pm. Rylan shared the show’s artwork on his Instagram this evening, as he could be seen standing in the woods with a wolf wearing a white suit with the shadow of a skeleton on the fabric. His co-star Alice put her hand on Rylan’s left shoulder and the other hand on her hip to pose for the promotional poster. She opted for a fitting black touled dress with sheer sleeves and black embellishments sewn onto the gown.

Rylan captioned the post: “Essex has a dark past and Rylan and Professor Alice Roberts are teaming up to explore it. With hundreds of women murdered for accusations of witchcraft, prepare to discover the harrowing history of Essex. #WitchesOfEssex comes to Sky HISTORY this October.”
A synopsis for the series reads: “Each episode centres on a specific witch trial, with Rylan and Alice opening a cold case into the stories behind some of the women accused of witchcraft during the 16th and 17th centuries, many of whom were found guilty and sentenced to death by hanging. They visit the towns and villages in Essex where the women lived and died. Guided by original court documents and a team of historians, psychologists and medical experts, they explore these women’s lives, alleged crimes and trials.”
The news comes weeks after Rylan interrupted This Morning to issue a frank statement about illegal immigration as he told ITV viewers he found it “absolutely insane” that people come across to England on small boats to be greeted with luxuries.
Rylan said, although immigration has been a key part of the UK’s history and culture, as he thanked doctors who are immigrants for saving his mother’s life, he stated there should be a policy to stop small boats crossing the Channel.
This Morning was slapped with 702 Ofcom complaints following his comments on immigration.
Rylan later doubled down on X following his statement on This Morning and said in light of his followers: “You can be pro immigration and against illegal routes. You can support trans people and have the utmost respect for women. You can be heterosexual and still support gay rights. The list continues.
“Stop with this putting everyone in a box exercise and maybe have conversations instead of shouting on Twitter.”
