Piers Morgan Tears Into Harry and Meghan Over UK Return as He Claims Royals Were ‘Blindsided’

Piers Morgan has launched a blistering attack on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following their return to Britain, claiming the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are about to bring fresh drama back into the Royal Family.

Speaking on The Royals Uncensored, the former Good Morning Britain host made clear he was unimpressed by the couple’s decision to return to the UK after six years living in the United States.

“They’re going to come back, bring the circus… and bring the whining!” Morgan said.

Harry and Meghan returned to Britain last week with their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, and are reportedly planning to remain in the country for an “extended period.”

Their arrival has already renewed intense speculation about their relationship with the wider Royal Family and whether old tensions could resurface.

Morgan Says He ‘Feels Sorry’ for the Royal Family

During his lengthy criticism, Morgan argued that senior members of the Royal Family had spent years recovering from a series of deeply difficult events.

He referenced the passing of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II, as well as the health challenges faced by King Charles and Princess Catherine.

Morgan said those developments would have been difficult for any family, particularly one carrying the public responsibilities of the monarchy.

He then accused Harry and Meghan of creating further strain during their years in California.

According to Morgan, the couple caused significant reputational damage through their public criticism of the institution.

“The damage they have caused around the world and around the Commonwealth to the integrity of the Royal Family and the monarchy is incalculable,” he claimed.

Morgan suggested the family had recently been entering what he called a “sunnier period” before being surprised by the Sussexes’ return.

“Just as they’re coming into a sunnier period, they get this,” he said. “Blindsided by these two coming back.”

There has been no public statement from the Palace confirming that senior royals were caught unaware.

Piers Questions Why Harry and Meghan Returned

Morgan also offered his own theory about the couple’s motivations, although he provided no evidence to support the claim.

“I think it can be subbed down to they’re running out of cash and they want to put themselves right back at the seat of royal power so they can be enriched by association,” he said.

That suggestion remains Morgan’s personal assessment rather than a confirmed explanation from Harry or Meghan.

The Sussexes are reportedly considering settling in the Cotswolds, although the length of their stay and their permanent living arrangements have not been confirmed.

Despite moving back to Britain, Harry and Meghan are not expected to resume duties as working members of the Royal Family.

Their return therefore appears to represent a new family chapter rather than a return to their former royal roles.

King Charles Reportedly Pleased to Have Grandchildren Nearby

While Morgan focused heavily on the possible tension surrounding Harry and Meghan’s move, another aspect of their return could be more welcome for King Charles.

The monarch has not publicly commented on his youngest son’s return, but reports have suggested he is pleased that Archie and Lilibet will now be living closer to him.

Until this summer, Charles had reportedly not seen the children since 2022.

A former royal butler has suggested that the distance between the King and his grandchildren may have been difficult for him.

The Sussexes’ return therefore carries several competing implications.

For Morgan, it risks reopening controversies that the Royal Family had begun to move beyond.

For Charles, however, having Harry’s children back in Britain could also provide an opportunity for a closer family relationship.

What remains uncertain is how Harry and Meghan’s long term presence in the UK will affect the wider royal dynamic.
