Former Strictly Come Dancing star Melvin Odoom has announced he and his partner are expecting their first child. It comes after his axe from his BBC radio slot. The BBC Radio 2 presenter announced the joyful news on Instagram with his partner, Hannah Holland. Through a collection of charming black and white images, Melvin was pictured clasping Hannah’s hand while she displayed her growing bump in unfastened jeans positioned low on her hips.
Another snapshot captured his partner beaming while placing a hand on her bump as Melvin proudly filmed the moment. A final image featured an intimate close-up of her stomach with Melvin embracing Hannah from behind.
He simply captioned the images: “Mum and Dad.” Friends and followers rushed to offer their congratulations, with Marvin Humes posting: “Incredible news so happy for you both! Big love..Daddy Melv ya kna!”
Strictly professional Oti Mabuse remarked: “You’re going to be the best parents,” while fellow Strictly Vicki Pattison exclaimed: “WHATTTT? ? ? ? This is unbelievable news congratulations you guys! ! ! X”.
The announcement comes after it was revealed Melvin was among six BBC Radio presenters axed during a significant shake-up at the station.
Melvin, Rickie Haywood-Williams, Dean McCullough, Nat O’Leary, James Cusack and Swarzy have all been let go to make way for new talent at the broadcaster. Sharing the announcement on Instagram, the station stated: “We thank them for their passion, creativity and dedication and wish them all the very best for whatever comes next.”

Their replacements include social media influencer and Loose Women star GK Barry, as well as TikTok personalities Charley Marlowe, Mylo and Rosie, and Emil Franchi.
Melvin and Rickie joined the station in 2019, having made the switch from the hugely popular Kiss Breakfast Show alongside fellow presenter Charlie Hedges. The trio hosted the late-night slot from 9pm until 11pm, before moving to the mid-morning slot in 2021.
While Melvin and Rickie have been axed, Charlie will remain at the station as the new host of Radio 1’s Live Lounge, partnering with Jeremiah Asiamah.
