The Chase’s Bradley Walsh was forced to intervene and warn a contestant ‘don’t waste my time’ as livid viewers raged at his ‘ridiculous’ move on Wednesday.
Host Bradley Walsh welcomed four new contestants Anne, Qahir, Katy and Liam to the studio to take on Darragh Ennis AKA The Menace.
First up was Anne, followed by Qahir who wanted to use the money to take his dad Karim to take him to Uganda.
Qahir managed to get £5k in the cash builder round and Darragh offered him options of £1k, £5k and £69k.
Qahir decided to go with the lowest offer, despite his team mates telling him to go for the middle amount.
When The Menace was one question away from the last one, Bradley told Qahir: ‘You’ve been vindicated in going for the minus offer, but it would be an awful waste of my time if you don’t go through now.’

Qahir managed to get £5k in the cash builder round and Darragh offered him -1£k, £5k and £69k – and Qahir decided to go with the lowest offer, despite his team mates telling him to go for the middle amount
‘You and me both!,’ Qahir replied.
At the end of the round it was then revealed that they had finished that round with £10k and Bradley told him that he had played well.
Qahir said: ‘I think that “well-played” was a bit kind there, mate. That was crawling across the line!’
Bradley replied: ‘You know what, you’ve made it! You’ve got three in the final! So well done you, mate.’
But those watching at home were fuming with his choice and were quick to share their complaints.
One wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: ‘NO! Qahir is NOT ‘vindicated for going low.’ Everyone still thinks he’s a… No-one wants him! He’ll contribute sweet FA in the final chase!’
Meanwhile a second chimed in: ‘No!!!! £1,000 taken away from the prize pot now due to this useless contestant! What a ridiculous episode tonight! #TheChase.’
‘What is this! Minus £1,000 offer taken! I have absolutely had enough! How on earth is this even possible! Why are the producers always casting useless players who opt for the stupid low offer! This has gone completely out of hand and must end now!,’ a third fumed.
Anne then took to the stage and won £7k in the cash builder round, and then it was time for her to face the chaser.

The contestants took on Darragh Ennis AKA The Menace

Many viewers fumed that Qahir had made the wrong decision
Darragh offered her £2k, £7k or £90k.
Anne decided to go for the highest option, despite the rest of her team telling her to go lower and unfortunately she was caught.
This meant that Qahir, Katy and Liam were the remaining players to take him on and they bagged 21 steps ahead before the final round.
The trio were over the moon when they managed to bag the £10k.
Bradley told the contestants: ‘Okay here we go. Five attempts to push back.
‘Three executed, well-played. Chaser needed two…
‘The Chaser said it all, if you hadn’t had got back Qahir, seriously…
‘So great decision at the table.’

But after the team won the £10k they praised his decision
Although Qahir’s earlier decision left some fans fuming, they later took to social media to praise his choice.
One said on X: ‘Without Qahir… they’d have got nothing!’
Another chimed in: ‘Qahir all is forgiven! #TheChase Redeemed yourself brilliantly.’
A third added: ‘Qahir made the final game… despite X opinions…’
‘Fair play to Qahir there. He did well. #TheChase,’ a fourth tweeted.
