“We Feel Cooper in Fig” – George Stephanopoulos and Ali Wentworth Open Up about Grief and the Comfort Fig Brings, Touching Viewers’ Hearts!
After going through a devastatng loss, George Stephanopoulos and his wife Ali Wentworth surprised GMA fans by welcoming a new furry member: a yellow Labrador named Fig.

On GMA, they appeared smiling warmly, holding Fig, as Ali happily introduced: “Meet Fig!” Fans quickly flooded the comments: “She’s adorable!!” and “Hi Fig!! Such a beautiful Labrador“, sharing their love for the pup.
Back in May, they faced heartbreak with the passng of their beloved dog Cooper, shortly after celebrating daughter Elliott’s graduation from Brown University. Ali wrote: “I lost my longtime companion. The greatest dog and integral part of our family.“
She recalled touching memories: Cooper once chased an elk into a pond, ate an entire bottle of melatonin unfazed, always slept at their bed’s foot, and “kissed and cuddled everyone.”
Ali ended tenderly: “I will miss him with all my heart. See you on the other side, Coop! We still have many squirrels to chase.“
George and Ali, married since 2001, have two daughters: Elliott and Harper. Now with both daughters away at college, little Fig brings fresh joy and warmth back into their home.
