Adam Ramsay-Peaty said his having new father-in-law Gordon Ramsay is an ‘incredible blessing’ as he prepares to become a dad for the second time.

The Olympic champion swimmer said expecting a baby with wife Holly Ramsay-Peaty has pushed him to “grow up”, though he did not mention his estranged mum in relation to their happy news during his latest interview.

The Olympic champion swimmer, 31, and the daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, 26, announced they are expecting their first child together last month.

The couple tied the knot in a lavish wedding at Bath Abbey last December. Ramsay-Peaty is already father to a five-year-old son from a previous relationship with artist Eirianedd Munro.

He told BBC Breakfast: “2026 has already been one of those years. Our wedding was one of the best days of my life. Watching Holly walk down the aisle, it’s a view that I’ll never ever forget. It’s almost like I’ve got a snapshot in my brain, and the music in the church was just incredible.” The swimmer, who is set to contest his fourth Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer as part of the England team, said of his famous father-in-law: “Having Gordon as my father-in-law is an incredible blessing. I’m also expecting a baby little girl. Well, I’m incredibly excited. For me, that role of being a father has been just incredible. “To have another human in this world that loves and cherishes you, I think it’s the biggest blessing. My love for them isn’t going to be judged by a medal, and obviously with Holly going through pregnancy, all I can pray for is her happiness and health, as well as the baby. And for me, that does push me even more to, I guess, grow up.” Ramsay-Peaty is one of Britain’s most successful swimmers and has won six Olympic medals across four Games, including three golds. He reportedly met his new wife through her sister Tilly when the two took part in BBC dancing programme Strictly Come Dancing in 2021.

Yesterday, the Mirror reported that Holly is now ‘no longer on speaking terms’ with Adam’s sister Bethany. The pair were once thought to be close, as Bethany, who has a nine-year-old son and a five-year-old daughter with her partner Daniel Rogerson, was one of Holly’s bridesmaids. She was the only member of Adam’s immediate family to attend the couple’s wedding last December amid a wider rift between the Olympic swimmer and his relatives.

Adam is now reportedly caught in the middle and reportedly has been attempting to repair the relationship between his wife and sister.

The fallout happened after Bethany was asked to talk about Holly’s baby news in what is believed to be a paid for interview.

A source told the Mail on Sunday: “Beth rang Holly out of respect and consideration, and said, ‘Can I answer these questions?'” Holly declined and warned that she and Adam would ‘take a step back’ if she spoke about Holly’s pregnancy.

Bethany said in March that it had been “a very difficult time” for her and that she was “caught right in the middle of the row” between brother Adam and their mum.

She said she had reconciled with Caroline for the sake of her two children, who remain close to their grandmother. Bethany described Caroline as “a great grandma and a good mum” and said it was “very sad” that she had missed Adam’s wedding.

At the same time, Bethany spoke warmly about the Ramsays, calling them “a good family” who had made her feel welcome.
