One-of-a-Kind PROPOSAL live on GMA leaves viewers stunned until the very end!
Good Morning America correspondent Rachel Scott is engaged.
Scott, a senior congressional correspondent for ABC, revealed Monday she had said ‘yes’ to boyfriend Elliott Smith.
Robin Roberts – who tied the knot just four months ago – revealed Scott’s big news during the Monday broadcast, stating: ‘Our Rachel Scott is engaged!’
The studio cheered and applauded before Smith appeared virtually to describe the special moment.
Smith, 32, admitted the proposal came as a ‘total surprise’ as she described how her fiance had decorated a gazebo with fresh roses – only for her to think it was for another couple.

Scott revealed the big news during an appearance on Good Morning America on Monday
‘You know, I gotta admit, this one was a total surprise,’ she said.
‘When we saw that gazebo with all the rose petals and the flowers, I actually thought it was there for someone else,’ she explained.
‘I thought we were going to ruin someone else’s engagement. It turned out to be my own!’
She then referenced Robin’s recent wedding to Amber Laign. In January 2023, Robin revealed she and Amber intended to wed that year. They ultimately tied the knot this past September.
‘You said yes to marriage this time last year, Robin, and I am so excited to say yes to marriage this year,’ Scott continued.
She then asked for words of wisdom as she began wedding planning: ‘So please, guys, send me all your newlywed, all your engagement tips. We are taking it all!’
Robin jokingly added: ‘I can actually give advice now!’
Scott shared photos from the moment she said ‘yes’ to her Instagram. Tagging the photos in Dana Point, California, the snaps captured Smith getting down on one knee before a beautiful gazebo decorated with colorful roses and tealight candles.
Scott looked truly surprised as she joyfully accepted. She was given a gorgeous diamond ring with a dazzling band.

‘YES!’ she captioned the post with a diamond ring and heart emoji.
She shared video of her GMA engagement announcement to her X account, tweeting: ‘Can’t stop smiling. All the love in 2024. So excited to say YES to marriage -& so grateful to my @GMA family for the special shout out this morning.’
The proposal comes just months after Robins tied the knot with her long-time partner Laign.
The couple said ‘I do’ in their backyard in Connecticut, as Roberts’ childhood pastor officiated the ceremony.
The newlyweds’ star-studded guest list included TV personalities such as Al Roker, Erielle Reshef, Lara Spencer and Dr. Jen Ashton. Sam Champion, meteorologist and co-star to Roberts, celebrated the couple with his husband Rubem Robierb.
