This Morning presenter Ben Shephard paid tribute to Liverpool star Diogo Jota after news of his tragic d3th in a car crsh.
Jota, 28, was KL alongside his brother Andre Silva, 26, when their car crshed and burst into flames in Spain’s Zamora region. Ben said:
“Diogo Jota has d13d in a car crsh aged just 28. He only just recently got married and was father of three young children. It’s really, really sad.“
The Guardia Civil confirmed:
“The car, a Lamborghini, had a tyre blow out while overtaking, left the road and caught 0n fire. Both occupants were KL.“
Jota had married long-time partner Rute Cardoso on June 22. He played 26 matches, scored six goals last season helping Liverpool win the Premier League.
The Premier League said:
“Football has lost a champion who will be forever missed.“
Former club Wolves added:
“We are heartbroken. Diogo was adored by fans, loved by teammates. The memories he created will never be forgotten.“
