In unfortunate times, Tyreek Hill recently received divorce papers from Lakeeta Vaccaro Hill.

The shocking news came just one day after a domestic incident at their home that involved law enforcement.

In her filing, Lakeeta claims their relationship is “irretrievably broken” following this latest event. The couple, who married in November 2023, have been facing ongoing conflicts since the birth of their daughter.

On April 7, a dispute occurred at Tyreek’s condo in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, prompting a call to the police regarding “an assault in progress.” Lakeeta’s mother, Alesia Vaccaro, reported the situation, stating that Tyreek is “aggressive” and has anger issues.

During the heated argument, it was alleged that Tyreek threw Lakeeta’s computer and engaged in concerning behavior with their infant.

Both Lakeeta and Tyreek spoke to the police about the argument. Lakeeta indicated that their disagreements have intensified despite attempts at couples therapy. She mentioned that Tyreek sometimes throws things when angry.

Tyreek acknowledged the tensions but insisted on his parental rights when responding to law enforcement.

Although police noticed some redness on Lakeeta, she chose not to file charges, and no arrests were made. The Miami Dolphins, Tyreek’s NFL team, released a statement saying they had been informed about the incident and would not comment further.

Tyreek Hill Did Not Respond To Divorce Petition

Tyreek Hill’s situation has escalated recently, leading to a wave of public concern and criticism, particularly from Miami Dolphins fans.

Following the domestic incidents, Lakeeta filed for divorce on April 8, seeking child support, alimony, and the residence they share, as well as the car she’s been using. Tyreek has not yet responded to the divorce petition.

This is not the first time the couple has faced serious issues. Earlier this year, there were previous domestic calls to their home, including one shortly after a fire at Tyreek’s mansion.

The Dolphins have acknowledged the situation but have not provided extensive commentary beyond stating that the police left without further incident.

The team reported that they are in communication with Hill and the NFL regarding the matter.

In light of these events, many fans are urging the Dolphins organization to sever ties with Hill, recalling his past issues.

Despite a strong performance in the 2023 season, the combination of off-field controversies and declining performance in 2024 has fueled calls for his departure from the team.

Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill sounds like he doesn’t want to go anywhere after all.

The 31-year-old wide receiver made headlines on Sunday when he seemingly hinted at wanting out of Miami with a series of X/Twitter posts:

Well, it appears that Tyreek Hill would like to stay where he is, going by his latest activity on X. Responding to a post from @nflrums (an X account known for posting random rumors without citing credible reporters), about Hill welcoming a trade to a playoff contender, the eight-time Pro Bowler called it a “false narrative.”

Per C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said on Monday that the team is “fully planning to move forward for a better version of our relationship with Tyreek.”

Tyreek Hill is signed through the 2026 season, having signed a $90 million extension last summer. The Dolphins acquired Hill in a 2022 offseason trade with the Kansas City Chiefs in a deal that turned out to be a win-win for both sides.

Hill helped the Dolphins to back-to-back playoff appearances in 2022 and 2023, the first time they reached the postseason in consecutive years since 2001.

But in a year marred by injuries to key players, including quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, the Dolphins struggled offensively and limped to an 8-9 finish in 2024. It marked the first time in Hill’s nine-year career where his team missed out on the postseason.

One year after posting the best statistical season of his career (119 catches for a league-leading 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns), Hill had his worst campaign since his 2024 rookie year.

Hill finished with only 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns, missing the 1,000-yard mark for the first time since 2019. But even in the latter year, Hill had 860 yards in 12 games.

If Miami is to return to the postseason in 2025, they’ll need Hill to regain his All-Pro form and return to his status as a top-10 receiver in football.
