Fans of Channel 4’s Tip Toe will be delighted to hear that David Morrissey is set to return to screens shortly, as the acclaimed actor heads back to the BBC comedy Daddy Issues. Reuniting with Aimee Lou Wood, the celebrated duo will breathe life into their beloved characters for a third and final series.
Reflecting on the show’s return, actress Aimee was unable to hide her excitement as she shared her thoughts on reprising her role in the much-loved comedy. She said: “I’m so happy to be back with David and the brilliant Daddy Issues cast for one final time. Gemma and Malcolm are one of the funniest and sweetest comedy double acts on TV, and I’ve loved being a part of it.”
David Morrissey also commented: “I love doing Daddy Issues so much, such a great cast and crew! So I’m delighted to be coming back to have more adventures with Gemma, Malcolm and the gang!”.
The hit comedy, set in Stockport, first graced our screens in 2024 and follows Gemma (Aimee Lou Wood) as she navigates the chaotic and often hilarious challenges of new motherhood.
With her well-intentioned yet hapless father Malcolm (David Morrissey) never far away, life is anything but simple. While doing her utmost to keep her dad’s closest pal Derek (David Flynn) at arm’s length, Gemma relies heavily on those around her, including best friend Cherry (Taj Atwal), boss Rita (Sarah Hadland) and her sister Catherine.
The official synopsis for the final series reveals: “The new series sees Gemma 18 months on from where we left her in series two, and life has settled into a familiar rhythm.
“Her baby, Sadie, is now in nursery, Gemma’s been promoted at the salon, and Malcolm has just ordered a fancy new washing machine to optimise the laundry.

“A romantic encounter escalates into a whole heap of problems, and there’s only one person she can turn to – her dad, who might finally have become the grown-up she always knew he could be.”
