EastEnders star Charlie Brooks looked almost unrecognisable as she showed off her incredible weight loss on Instagram on Tuesday.

The actress, 44, who is best known for playing Janine Butcher before her exit in 2022, showcased her slimmed-down figure as she slipped back into a mini dress she bought over two decades ago.

Taking to her Instagram Charlie put on a very leggy display as she posed for the mirrored selfie in the skimpy look which boasted a large graphic design.

She completed the eye-catching ensemble with gold jewellery and chunky boots as fans rushed to the comments to share their compliments.

Charlie captioned the post: ‘Bought this dress over 22 years ago, before my kid was born, and I STILL love it. It actually makes me feel very happy. Funny how a piece of clothing can do that. My face doesn’t look happy. But I am actually very happy’.

While her followers gushed: ‘Love it! Bonus it still fits & you look amazing!! Xx’: ‘You look gorgeous! I love that dress!’: ‘Ooooh love it’: ‘This is stunning!!’.

The soap star, who shares daughter Kiki, 20 with ex-fiancé Tony Truman,  previously revealed  how she became ‘obs3ssed’ with losing weight after shedding a whopping 2st in just two months.

Charlie filmed her fitness DVD, Charlie Brooks’ Before & After Workout, in 2005 and has now revealed how the process effected her confidence.

Speaking with The Sun’s Fabulous Magazine in 2021, Charlie explained that she’s always had a ‘complicated relationship’ with her body and the DVD made that ‘extreme’.

Charlie said: ‘I don’t regret it, because it gave me an awareness of my body, but on the other hand, I crossed over into that kind of slightly obsessive weight loss thing.

‘You know, always wanting to get back to “that”.

‘I’ve definitely had quite a complicated relationship with my body, never feeling pretty enough or healthy enough, and with the DVD it was extreme. I went all in.’

Charlie added that she still struggles at times with accepting her figure and can feel ‘disgusting’, but is now about ’70 per cent’ of the way to b0dy acc3ptance.

In February it was revealed that Charlie had parted ways with her current boyfriend on rather more amicable terms, albeit just two months after confirming their romance.

The Dancing On Ice star was understood to be single after ending a short-lived relationship with producer James Fuller.

But he confirmed they are no longer an item while congratulating Charlie and her ice skating skills in a social media post.

Commenting on her latest performance with professional skate partner Eric Radford, he wrote: ‘Damn you guys are elegant, graceful and gorgeous! It’s a 10 for me! Can’t wait to see you skate again this Sunday!

‘You are easily the coolest, most thoughtful, wonderful, amicable ex girlfriend and current best friend that a boy could wish for.

‘So glad to be on this journey with you. You got this girl! So, so proud of you that words do no justice.’

Referring to her appearance on stage in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, he added: ‘Looking forward to a game of Rummikub with you after you have won this show and before you start Chitty!’

The former couple only announced their romantic involvement in December, when Charlie went Instagram official with James on New Year’s Eve.

The actress was introduced to her ex-partner when she was just 21 by former co-star Dean Gaffney.

She ended her relationship with Tony in 2006, but the couple continued living under the same roof for more than six months after their separation.

Speaking of the decision to continue living together in 2007, she told Sunday magazine: ‘We knew our friendship would continue because that’s how our relationship started.

‘People ask if it’s weird still living together, but we’re just getting on with it for Kiki’s sake.’

In 2021 Charlie revealed that despite no longer being together, she and Tony remain close with him living in the flat above theirs in London.

Speaking to the Mail Online at the time, she explained: ‘He is absolutely my family and nothing will ever change that, no matter how much we fall out, which we have done, big time.

‘He can be an a***hole sometimes, but nobody’s perfect. I love him to bits. He’s one of my best friends.’
