‘This makes me cry happy tears for all of you,’ one fan admitted.
Hoda Kotb is ecstatic about her new schedule since leaving the Today show—and it’s not because she gets to sleep in a little later now.
Four days after Kotb, 60, closed out her last live broadcast for the NBC talk show, she shared an update on her life now that she’s pursuing a new career path that affords her more time with her two young girls, Haley and Hope.
“School drop!!!” Kotb squealed in the caption accompanying her Jan. 14 Instagram upload. “Let’s goooo!”
Fans immediately rejoiced in the comments, sharing in the joy of Kotb’s newfound bliss. Former Today star Carson Daly wrote, “aaaaaaaand that’s what it’s all about!!❤️.”
A different fan praised Kotb for “sharing this special moment with us. I love seeing you and all of the positivity that you bring to each day!!”
“They are so happy,” one more added. “Definitely worth it!!”
As Parade previously reported, Kotb’s final on-screen appearance in her regular spot on the morning newscast came to a bittersweet end on Friday, Jan. 10, about four months after she first announced she would be leaving the Today show to focus on spending more time with her family. Her esteemed colleague, Craig Melvin, was tapped to replace her.
