Sunny Good Morning America meteorologist Sam Champion is facing more cloudy days as he deals with yet another skin cnc3r diagnosis.
The veteran forecaster, 63, revealed on social media he once again underwent a surgical procedure to remove basal cnc3r cells, this time from under his left eye. He admitted he was shaken when docs needed two rounds of surgery to remove all the cnc3r cells they detected.
“A rough day,” the former sun worshipper said. “I just felt a little overwhelmed on the second pass, but I think that’s natural and normal.”
While he was on cloud nine when he heard the surgery was successful, an insider exclusively tells Closer the ABC veteran fears doctors will continue to find more malignancies.

“Physically, Sam is fine, but mentally, he’s shaken up,” the source reveals. “Cnc3r is a nasty word, and he’s scared.”
He’s reportedly had cnc3rous cells removed a half dozen times already — including in 2010 when he had basal cell carcinomas removed live on the air on GMA.

“Sam was a dedicated beach bum for much of his life — he just loved lying out on the beach and getting bronzed,” another insider says. “Those days are long over, but he fears the damage has already been done and that he’s looking at a grave diagnosis down the road.”
Sam has used his cnc3r struggle to remind fans to get regular skin checkups and to wear sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher when outdoors.
