Britain’s Got Talent has received over 700 Ofcom complaints over an act that performed during the show’s premiere on Saturday.
Ofcom has confirmed that the ITV talent show was hit by 771 complaints, with the vast majority regarding Auzzy Blood’s controversial routine. However, a spokesperson revealed that 90 viewers complained about nudity in Akira Ohashi’s routine on the show.
Professional sword swallower Auzzy Blood left viewers horrified on Saturday with his graphic performance, which involved placing a silver meat hook through his nose. The act, who has competed on six different Got Talent shows across the world, specialises in extreme body manipulation, sword swallowing and shock-inducing acts.

Amanda Holden’s jaw dropped when she watched Auzzy Blood’s act
Viewers took to social media on Saturday to voice their disgust with the controversial performance, with one writing on X: “Auzzy Blood probably the most disturbing thing I’ve seen! what makes someone think I’m going to try and shove a metal hook up my nose.”
A second said: “Ohh my god auzzy that was flipping mad that was hard to watch but wow that was brilliant at the same time.” A third penned: “I’m actually terrified but amazed at auzzy blood rn.”
However, others were convinced that Auzzy Blood could go onto win the talent show, with the act having made it through to the next round. “He’s my BGT winner! Love love LOVED HIM!” one viewer said.
On Loose Women earlier this week, Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon addressed the controversial performance – and admitted that her mum wasn’t particularly impressed with the act. Alesha was the only judge on the panel to press the red button during Auzzy Blood’s performance.
“My mum actually messaged me, ‘Well done for buzzing him,'” she revealed. She added: “I find those kind of acts really interesting. They’re a bit like Marmite. We love to hate them. I find them very difficult to watch but when I watched it back with my family, I was howling with laughter. I found it so funny and watching everybody’s reactions, that’s when it becomes entertaining.”
Alesha continued: “I found it difficult definitely. I was a bit like this for most of it,” she said, shielding her eyes. “And then I just reached over to my red buzzer. After I watched it at the launch, I did say to the producer, ‘I get it.'”
