Lorraine Kelly appeared to make a pointed dig at her ITV show bosses amid a huge wave of changes. The TV presenter has fronted her self-titled show for years, but is facing major cuts in the new year.

It means Lorraine will be slashed in half from January, running for just half an hour instead of the full 60 minutes and will air for just 30 weeks of the year. The news would come as a huge blow to Lorraine, who first rose to fame in 1988.
She was the Scotland correspondent at TV-AM and became one of the only presenters to move over to GMTV in 1992. Lorraine has been a mainstay on morning TV since.

However, the huge shakeup means her studio will also be on the move as it will now join Loose Women and This Morning in a shared building in Covent Garden. The three shows will be produced by just one team, and comes as ITV are set to scrap more than 220 jobs.
Amid the changes, it seems Lorraine is keen to shout about her show’s success. She proved she is still a huge hit with viewers as she celebrated her ratings.

Lorraine took to Instagram to post a list of all the highest rated shows on ITV on Friday. She had a peak of 784,000 households that tuned in to watch her.
In what looked like an attempt to flag the news to her bosses, Lorraine wrote: “Ahem – yesterday’s show in @itv top ten. Thanks to @fern_bennett @vejk100 and all my top @lorraine team and crew #topten #topteam #love #family #happy #stillkickingass.”
On Friday, Lorraine’s long-time editor, Victoria Kennedy, announced she’s leaving her role amid the network’s huge budget cuts after eight years. Announcing the news on LinkedIn, the editor told her followers that her time with Lorraine is coming to an end.

She wrote: “September is always an important month for us on Lorraine – the launch of a new season as we go into my favourite time of the year to make this show.
“This year is bittersweet as it will be my last one as Editor. So I’m delighted to see that our September new season BARB ratings are the highest they’ve been in three years — and with 37 million video views across social last month, we’re starting the season on a high.”
She added that she wanted to show some “gratitude” for the team she’s worked with for close to a decade. “This is a little gratitude post to my incredible team who get up at 3am each morning and pretend they are never tired, who greet every guest with a smile, change running orders at a moment’s notice as news breaks, send me ideas at the weekends and, most importantly, care deeply about what our audience want to see at 9am live every single weekday.”

“Making live daytime telly is relentless and exhausting, but it is also a magical privilege to be in people’s living rooms as they start their day,” she continued.
Managing Director at ITV Studios Daytime Emma Gormley previously explained: “As we work towards more cutting edge and efficient ways to produce Daytime shows in 2026. This move to The H Club studio offers state of the art technology that we can use across our programmes to create shows that are distinctive – with a look and feel that are familiar to and loved by our viewers.
“In a time of transformation for the entire industry, I want to thank all our Daytime teams for their dedication and skill in producing high-quality, compelling live shows every day throughout this period.”
