On Friday, Carson Daly revealed during his daily pop culture segment, Pop Start, that he had a “huge announcement” to make.
He revealed singer Kacey Musgraves is set to perform on the Today show on March 15.
“She’ll be here, performing live, as part of our Citi Concert Series,” Carson shared.
Savannah sounded shocked by the news as she simply asked, rhetorically, “What?!”
Once the camera panned away from a close-up on Carson to reveal all of the Today hosts on the couch on set, Al Roker told everyone, “You should’ve seen Savannah’s face when she just heard that.”
In explanation, Savannah revealed she looked a little upset by the news because she realized she wouldn’t be there that day to see Kacey’s performance.
“I’m off that day because it’s my 10th anniversary,” she revealed of her upcoming time off from the morning show.
Savannah and her husband, Michael Feldman, got married on March 15, 2014 in a small ceremony in Tucson, Arizona.
The two met in 2008 when the TV host attended Michael’s 40th birthday party with a mutual friend.
After explaining why she was upset, Savannah pretended to cry over the situation she found herself in.
Craig Melvin teasingly asked, “So, who are you going to pick – Mike or Kacey?”
“I’m gonna pick my honey,” she quickly replied.
“What about Mike,” both Al Roker and Carson jokingly asked, cracking everyone up.
The Today hosts often get sarcastic with one another, especially during Pop Start.
Earlier this week, the stars had a brief conversation about Love is Blind’s sixth season.
Savannah, 52, revealed to her co-hosts that she had seen “every season of the show.”
After her dumbfounded colleagues asked what the show was even about, Savannah shared a detailed explanation of the program.
Craig was left speechless, leading Savannah to ask, “Did you just lose respect for me?”
He assured her, though, that he hadn’t.
