‘Totally unprofessional!’ BBC fans slam ‘biased’ Wimbledon coverage

BBC fans who tuned in to watch the Wimbledon tennis tournament were left outraged over “biased” coverage. Sports presenter Clare Balding was on air to cover of day 11 of the Grand Slam tournament from the All England Club.
Today’s matches, which aired on BBC One from 2pm, featured Karolína Muchová and Coco Gauff – but it was clear to some viewers that the BBC team had a favourite. None of the players had ever reached this stage at Wimbledon before, and only Gauff has tasted Grand Slam glory, winning both the 2023 US Open and 2025 French Open. Posting to X/Twitter, one infuriated fan fumed: “#Wimbledon26 F*** the BBC, absolute rats. Obviously wanting Gauff to win! I hope you do Karolína Muchová a monologue for the final. Like you did for Gauff before this match. Sort your commentators out as well. They were licking Gauff’s a*** from start to finish #Wimbledon.”

While another echoed: “These #Wimbledon commentators on the #BBC are so biased towards Gauff.”
A third person wrote: “#BBC #Wimbledon The commentating for the woman’s semi final was shocking. Totally unprofessional and biased towards Coco Gauff. (Claire Balding can do no wrong however).”
As one more said: “@BBCSport I’m getting sick to the back teeth with BBC commentators totally impartial blatantly supporting gauff in the #wimbledon semi. Why can’t you provide a commentator free feed. Seriously not hard.”
It follows on from fans being concerned for the Queen Consort yesterday. Camilla made an appearance in the Royal Box but seemed to be finding the heat hard to handle.
As she sat in the hot sun, with no shade or hat to protect her from the strong rays in the British heatwave, fans shared their worries as they said she looked as though she was “wilting”.
The Royal Family member used a small fan to try and bring some relief from the staggering heat, but was still left looking somewhat uncomfortable.
Taking to X/Twitter, one person noted: “The excitement and heat are going to kill Queen Cam. She’s wilting, poor thing. #Wimbledon.” Someone else added: “Queen Camilla is roasting. Get her a drink of water and a large hat. #Wimbledon.”
