Will Asha be OK, and is there a way she can start recovering from her struggles?
Speaking about the difficult scenes, Dev star Jimmi told the Manchester Evening News: “He gets a call from Amy, and suddenly his whole world turns upside down, and that’s when he starts going into denial mode, and says, ‘No, this is going to be fine.’
“I remember the emotion being that he just does not want to face that. He doesn’t want to hear that word.”
Shirley Ballas broke down in tears during the show (Image: SPOTIFY )
Shirely Ballas took some time out of her hectic schedule to speak with Paul C Brunson about her humble roots, rise to ballroom stardom and the tragic losses in her life during a lengthy podcast interview with the Married at First Sight Expert. In one part of the conversation, the 54-year-old broke down in tears as she opened up about the devastating loss of her brother, David, who took his own life.
She was left heartbroken over his passing as the pair shared a close bond, having grown up as each other’s only sibling in Wallassey with their mother, Audrey Rich. Shirley shared: “My brother was either very up or very down. He was not often on the line. I’ve heard when we started off, before we moved on the housing estate, my brother was a very gentle soul, and I was the one always screaming and crying and wanting this and dancing round.
Shirley got emotional over her brother’s tragic death (Image: SPOTIFY )
“My mother used to put me in the pram, strap me in and put me at the bottom of the yard. Because she said I was upside down doing somersaults in the pram. And my brother was really quite a gentle soul.
“Then we moved to the housing estate. I can’t speak for him because he’s since passed, but certain things went on in his life, you know, that were not great, which were communicated many, many years later. And I think it just, he had to toughen up, you know, became the tough guy.”
The Latin dancing legend then revealed that David became unwell in his forties while she was navigating life in London, and he remained in the North of England. Audrey would visit David during this difficult time, but she lived many miles away from him.
She continued: “When he was 43, 44 he got poorly, lived in the north of England. I lived in the South and I remember my mum going to stay with him. She was with him for about six weeks. He seemed very low. He lost a lot of weight. We never really got to the root cause of – I think maybe, if I could just say his past was catching up with him maybe – And, I just think he just somehow went into a dark hole.”

“The thing is, with depression and mental health, I knew nothing about that,” Shirley added. “I was busy, I had my son, I had my husband, my mother lived with me and somebody else’s two children that I raised. So life was busy, and I didn’t stop to go up there. My mother did.”
Shirley admitted David “faded fast”, adding: “And then there was just one time when my son was singing at Saint Paul’s Church, and I said to my mum and brother. Why don’t you come up for the week? And he goes, no, I’m feeling much better. Let mum go.
“And she went, and he took his own life that weekend in our home, in our north of England home. So it was just, it was tragic. It was sudden. It was – you can’t even explain it unless you lose somebody.”
David was 44 years old when he died in 2003, and he left behind his young daughter, Mary. Not long after his passing, Mary’s mother died of alcoholism, so Shirley raised Mary as her own.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are sabotaging their reconciliation with King Charles, according to veteran royal commentator Amanda Platell. Journalist Ms Platell said the Duke of Sussex risked inducing public boredom with his “permanently petulant” behaviour.
She additionally branded Meghan the architect of a “narcissistic playbook” which casts the couple as victims while undermining the monarchy. Writing in the Daily Mail, Ms Platell, who knew Princess Diana personally, claimed Harry’s behaviour echoed that of his mother’s but that he lacked her charm. Her remarks follow leaked details from Harry’s recent UK visit, further straining royal relations. As criticism intensifies, Ms Platell warns that the Sussexes’ public support is rapidly dwindling.

Prince William opened up about his beloved grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth, revealing that he misses her as he showed Hollywood star Eugene Levy around her Windsor home.
A new clip of the Prince of Wales from a forthcoming episode of Levy’s travel series, The Reluctant Traveler, was shared on Tuesday, showing the future King paying tribute to his late grandmother, saying that “Windsor is her”.
In a preview of the upcoming episode of the Apple TV+ series, titled Living The Royal Life In The UK, William told Levy: “I do actually, yeah, I do miss my grandmother, and my grandfather. Yeah, it’s been quite a bit of change, so you do sort of, you think about them not being here any more and particularly being in Windsor, for me Windsor is her.
“So, she loved it here; she spent most of her time here.”

Meghan Markle blasted by fans after cryptic As Ever message
Meghan Markle has confused her fans after sharing an unusual message on her brand’s social media.
The Duchess of Sussex took to As Ever’s Instagram page on Tuesday to post a new photo of what appeared to be her garden in Montecito, California.
The photo featured the message: “Let me tell you ’bout the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees and the moon above.”
The text appeared to be the Duchess’s own handwriting, as she usually does with her As Ever posts and products, featuring calligraphy flourishes – swirls and curls around the letters.
In the caption, she used the rest of the lyrics from Jewel Akens’s 1965 song, The Birds And The Bees, writing: “…and a little thing called love.”

‘Permanently petulant’ Prince Harry ‘in high-risk territory’ – warning

Nigel Farage has launched a blistering attack on Sir Keir Starmer following his keynote speech at the Labour Party Conference, declaring his words were “despicable” and “beneath contempt”.
Speaking to GB News, the Reform UK leader tore into the Prime Minister’s address, accusing him of “descending into the gutter” with his accusations.
During his speech, Sir Keir claimed Mr Farage has nothing “positive” to say about our country as he “doesn’t like Britain and doesn’t believe in Britain”.
The Prime Minister said: “When was the last time that you heard Nigel Farage say anything positive about Britain’s future?
Nigel Farage has hit out at Keir Starmer’s ‘inciteful’ and ‘despicable’ remarks during his Labour conference speech
“He can’t, he doesn’t like Britain and doesn’t believe in Britain. He wants you to doubt it as much as he does. So he resorts to grievance.”
Delivering his reaction to the remarks, the Reform leader told GB News: “What I heard was an entire Labour conference totally dominated by the conversation about one individual. That individual not even being a member of the Labour Party, namely me.
“The level of obsession, speech after speech from every single cabinet minister, I promise you, it’s quite unlike anything I’ve ever seen or heard in my entire lifetime of following politics.”
Expressing his outrage at Sir Keir, Mr Farage fumed: “I think that what the Prime Minister did today was inciteful, genuinely inciteful. I think he descended into the gutter, and he took the rest of his cabinet with him.
Don’t you worry Mr Farage! All the rubbish spouted by Labour was to their own! No one else was listening! As usual, the useless waste of space, known unaffectionately as Starmer and Labour, had NOTHING else to say, discuss or debate other than the wonderful Mr Farage and Reform. They dare not make any more promises because they are unable to commit to anything! They have failed in every aspect of government and governing! They are falling apart at the seams. They blame themselves for nothing! They are pathetic. Now they cut your security! Hoping you’ll back down! Wrong again! Your mission is that of saving our country, unlike Starmers whose only mission is to save HIS face! Too vain, too selfish, too self absorbed to step aside and let someone else have a go at running Labour. That proves his mission is NOT, albeit through Labour, to save our beautiful country, it is to save himself from failure! Too late for that now!
“To constantly say that Reform policies are racist, when frankly, all we want to do is make sure that benefits are only paid to British citizens, not to foreign nationals.
“All we want to do are deport those who illegally come into our country across the English Channel. I mean, this is all we want to do, what normal countries do.”
Nigel Farage hit back at the ‘obsessive’ remarks from the Prime Minister in a speech on Thursday
Admitting he is “genuinely fearful” of the impact such remarks will have on him, Mr Farage said: “I’m big enough and ugly enough and have security and all the rest of it to look after myself.
“But if you incite in this way by calling people racist, surely that has shades of what happened to my late friend Charlie Kirk, who they constantly called racist and Nazi, bigoted, transphobic, all of those words, and I genuinely am fearful. I’m fearful for our elected officers around the country.
“I’m fearful for our campaigners. I think, frankly, what Starmer has done is despicable beneath contempt.”
Criticising Labour policy, the Reform leader accused the Prime Minister of offering “similar policies” despite branding their measures “racist”.
He explained: “It’s incoherent, isn’t it? Because on the day after he first called us racist, his Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, laid out a policy on people coming into Britain that, on the face of it, wasn’t dissimilar to what we’d said last week.
“So he’s trying to play all ends against the middle, it is totally incoherent.”
Branding Sir Keir’s decision to attack Reform repeatedly is the “biggest mistake” he could make, Mr Farage told GB News: “The one thing that’s really clear from this Labour conference is there is no plan.
“There is no clear vision, there are just a series of platitudes and soundbites. There’s no meaning whatsoever.
“And I personally believe that he’s made the biggest mistake of his political career.
“If you say that wanting to control immigration is racist, you are insulting and abusing over half of this country. I don’t see how he rose back from that.”
Farage concluded: “And I believe all of this, all of this was a desperate last throw of the dice for a Prime Minister just a year into his term, who is now the most unpopular prime minister ever recorded in modern times.
“Rather than trying to take us on on policies, they’ve decided to go for abuse, they’ve decided to go for the gutter.
“And I think fair minded people in this country, when they spend a bit of time and look at this, won’t like it and it will bar on them very badly indeed.”
UNBELIEVABLE: GMB’s Susanna Reid SLAMS co-host Ed Balls after he makes Disgusting Comment about Lorraine Kelly’s ‘DUMPLINGS’
Ed Balls was “told off” by his co-host (Image: ITV)
Susanna Reid had to intervene following a remark made by her co-host Ed Balls on Good Morning Britain today.
The hosts were previewing Lorraine Kelly’s forthcoming ITV programme, during which Lorraine discussed her breast cancer campaign, encouraging viewers to self-check and identify early symptoms of the disease.
This follows a T0less photoshoot Lorraine participated in to raise awareness, with iced buns concealing her breasts.
Referring to the campaign, Lorraine said: “Good morning to you, I have been getting my buns out, sorry about that, for a very important reason!”
In response, Ed told Lorraine: “Great pair of buns there, I thought.”

Lorraine retorted: “You needed big ones, Ed, considerably bigger ones.”
“They look like those buns have risen beautifully,” he replied, to which Lorraine said: “They have, thank you.”
After an awkward pause as the camera returned to the Good Morning Britain studio, Susanna cautioned Ed: “You know we’re on television,” reports Wales Online.
“I was just joining in!” Ed said.
He later said on Lorraine’s show: “I’m on my best behaviour, having said that your buns were well risen, and being told off by Susanna on Good Morning Britain half an hour ago, I’m now being incredibly careful.”
This follows Lorraine joking that her team would be “traumatised” by her T0less shoot, which was part of the National Check Your Boobs Day initiative within Lorraine’s Change + Check campaign. She shared: “I just loved this idea. It’s cheeky and funny and is a nod to the wonderful Calendar Girls.

“It also gave me the chance to say the iconic line ‘we’re going to need considerably bigger buns’.”
Discussing her experience, Lorraine said: “I didn’t feel in any way vulnerable or uncomfortable as I was with my team, who are my friends, and our amazing photographer had also gone through breast cancer herself.
Lorraine spoke about her T0pless shoot (Image: ITV)
“My editor Victoria asked if I was comfortable being filmed and I told her I was fine, but to check with the crew in case they would be traumatised!!
“It was all very light-hearted, and after all, it’s all about getting the Change + Check message across.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX, followed by Lorraine at 9am.
King Charles is supporting Prince William and Princess Kate’s decision to raise Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis away from London, according to an insider.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are planning to move into a new royal residence later this year and have chosen Forest Lodge in Windsor.
The monarch is said to support the couple’s plan after they endured a difficult year in 2024 when the Princess of Wales received preventative chemotherapy treatment.
A source said: “If prioritising his family helps make him [William] a better king, it’s got to be a good investment,’ says one who knows them both.
King Charles is supporting Prince William and Princess Kate’s decision to raise Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis away from London, according to an insider.
“The Prince of Wales has had a universally sh***y time of late… he lost his beloved grandmother, his brother, and has faced terrible heartache with his father and his wife.
“If this [way of doing things] makes him feel that much more happy and confident when the moment comes and he accedes him to the throne, then that’s something his father supports.”
Another royal insider told the Mail: “The whole point of having a Prince of Wales with a separate household and funding from the monarch is that they have space and autonomy to try things in a different way.
“Sometimes they get things right, sometimes wrong. But even their failures make them a better king when they get there. Don’t forget His Majesty had more than his fair share of ups and downs as heir to the throne.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales are planning to move into a new royal residence later this year and have chosen Forest Lodge in Windsor.
King Charles is spending more time at Windsor Castle in a bid to be closer to his son and his grandchildren.
Forest Lodge will be a substantial upgrade from Adelaide Cottage, featuring eight bedrooms across three storeys compared to their current four-bedroom accommodation.
The Prince and Princess of Wales will pay a market rent for Forest Lodge, which is never publicly disclosed for commercial reasons.
The property contains six bathrooms, a long gallery, and underwent £1.5 million worth of renovations in 2001.
Forest Lodge has been part of the Crown Estate since 1829, and it previously housed royal staff members, including equerries and private secretaries.
The Prince and Princess of Wales will pay a market rent for Forest Lodge, which is never publicly disclosed for commercial reasons.
The building work has already begun ahead of the Wales family moving in by the end of 2025.
Sources close to the couple emphasise that their 2022 relocation from Kensington Palace to Adelaide Cottage served as a trial period to assess whether the area suited their family’s needs.

Big Brother’s oldest male housemate ever has revealed he’s been celibate his whole life and ‘adopted’ an adult refugee when they were 33 years old
Big Brother’s oldest male housemate ever has revealed he’s been celibate his whole life and ‘adopted’ an adult refugee when they were 33 years old.
The fly-on-the-wall reality show continued on Tuesday night after its live launch on Sunday as four new housemates entered the spy house.
Londoner Richard, 60, is one of the late entrants and mature contestants of this year’s lineup.
During the latest episode, the composer and author was probed by housemates on his marital status, to which he confirmed he’s never been wed.
After revealing his celibacy to the house, Richard then shocked them by disclosing he has a son and grandchildren.
He explained how he adopted the man, who was a 33-year-old adult at the time, to his stunned housemates.

Richard said: ‘I’ve somehow missed out the wife bit but I’ve got an adopted son and three grandchildren.’
He continued: ‘He was 33. He was a refugee.
‘I was actually working in Malaysia at the time and the hotel I was staying in, this particular gentleman was working there.
‘He was a refugee from Myanmar which is the next country up if you know your geography and he told me quite early on that he had lost his natural father when he was a kid.
‘That was our first meeting, but a friendship began to develop and whenever my travel plans took me to that part of the world I would just kind of go for a visit.’
As the housemates intently listened, Richard added: ‘Then he turned to me for advice, and as we were getting close, he started saying things like “is this what it’s like having a dad to help you through life’s problems?”
‘The crucial thing of that, I had been thinking “is this what it’s like having a son?”
‘I was at home one day just kinda turning all of this over in my mind and I suddenly thought “well, why don’t you make it official then?”‘

Fans were left stunned by the scenes and flooded social media with comments, calling for the 60-year-old to be crowned the winner
They took to social media to comment on the scenes
Following the scenes, one fan posted: ‘Can’t cope with Richard adopting a 33 year old refugee. Stop the show and crown him already.’
A second wrote: ‘Richard’s story of his adopted refugee son had me welling up GIVE HIM THE 100K ALREADY.’
‘Richard’s adoption story is already one of the most intriguing and beautiful stories I have ever heard on Big Brother. I am sobbing,’ said a third.
While a fourth penned: ‘Richard adopting a refugee as his son is the cutest thing I’ve heard in a while. That man is my winner!’
Richard’s arrival came on the back of a brutal launch night twist that saw Conservative Emily bid farewell to the show just hours after arriving, after she and housemates Sam and Caroline were forced to choose between them who would be sent home.
The trio were told to decide between them who should leave in a brutal showdown, after a public vote during Sunday’s launch put them at risk of eviction.
And thanks to votes from Sam and Caroline, Emily was sent home, despite her attempts to convince them she should stay as it was ‘once in a lifetime.’
She had shared her hopes of finding a husband in the Big Brother house, had already ruffled some viewers’ feathers by sharing her friendship with Boris Johnson, and proud membership of the Conservative Party.
SH0CKING CONFESSION: Cat Deeley sh0cked This Morning viewers and co-star Ben Shephard with her CONFESSION on the ITV phone-in competition
Ben, 50, appeared to awkwardly scramble to cover up the admission on Tuesday morning when Cat, 48, revealed she’d previously cheated at the game.
Joined by regular show guests Gyles Brandreth and Ashley James, Cat and Ben wrapped up the show’s news segment by sharing the details of the Spin To Win competition.
The game sees viewers call up the studio live to see if they will win huge cash prizes from a giant spinning wheel, or take home a consolation prize of a goodie bag.
Sharing the terms and conditions of the competition, the presenting duo revealed lucky winners could take home a maximum prize of £12,000.
And after explaining the rules, Cat turned to her co-star to wish him ‘good luck’, to which a confused Ben responded: ‘Are you saying that because of me?’

He then teased: ‘We know what happened when we’ve done this in the past,’ to which Cat then admitted: ‘We cheat a little bit!’
Shocked at what Cat had said, an open-mouthed Gyles, 77, quickly covered up the admission by adding: ‘I don’t think we do!’
Ben added: ‘We know we never have, we never will. We can’t!’
Grinning at the camera, leaving her co-stars awkwardly laughing, Cat added: ‘Sometimes, people don’t pick up the phone…’
Scrambling for words, Ben then joked: ‘You know Ralf Little and Will Mellor have that button they can hit when someone’s going to say something, should’ve hit that!’
On Tuesday’s show, actress Selma Blair opened up on the process of being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in an emotional chat with Cat and Ben.
The Legally Blonde star, 53, took to the ITV sofa to open up about how doctors dismissed her symptoms as depression and told her it was ‘all in her head’ as she desperately searched for answers about her health.
Selma, who was joined by her service dog Scout for the segment, revealed all about her decades-long struggle with getting a diagnosis.

Gyles, 77, quickly covered up the game cheat admission by adding: ‘I don’t think we do!’
She was finally told she had MS, which is a is a lifelong condition that affects the brain and nerves, in August 2018 after she finally was told to have a MRI scan of her brain.
Speaking of her early symptoms, Selma said: ‘I had symptoms since as young as I can remember, with my eye sight and we just never really diagnosed it.
‘It could be painful in the eye, pressure in the eye, the eye nerve gets quite inflamed, but with relapsing MS it can also go away, so it can be tricky for doctors especially when you’re young and quite capable.
‘I’d do neurological tests at the doctors, and I could do all that – so there were things that were missed, but I had chronic headache, chronic fever, I had a dropped leg, I developed tics sometimes, which was when I would actually be in a flare as a child.
‘I did spend my entire life with doctors really trying to figure out why I was so tired, but it was just misdiagnosed as depression, because extreme fatigue can seem like depression.
‘I kind of went that way and figured, “I guess it’s all in my head”, it was confusing.’
She went on to explain how things got progressively worse: ‘My skin had fallen apart, my body and the fatigue. I’d be riding my horse and get whiplash because I wasn’t strong enough to carry myself.
‘I’d go to the doctor quite often and say, “I can’t stay awake” and they’d say, “Well, what mother can?”‘
This Morning airs on weekdays at 10am on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
BREAKNG: Coronation Street star Sally Ann Matthews COMPLETES FINAL scene as Jenny makes regretful EXIT THE SOAPS
Coronation Street star Sally Ann Matthews has reportedly finished filming her final scenes as Jenny exits the soap.
The news comes after reports claimed that the character of Jenny Connor had been ‘axed’ after more than 30 years.
After Jenny lost the Rovers and with Daisy having left cobbles, fans had expected the news but were upset nonetheless.

Jenny lied to George in Coronation Street
Tonight on the cobbles (Monday, September 29), Jenny participated in a speed dating event at the Rovers.
Glenda rigged the evening so that Jenny would be the first one to have a date with George instead of Christina.
However, Jenny never got to have her date after all as she received a phone call from Rita to say that she’d had a fall.
With Rita only suffering from a sprain, Jenny sobbed into George’s shoulder as she made out that Rita’s accident was really bad. How will he react when he finds out the truth?

Sally Ann Matthews to exit Coronation Street as Jenny Connor
Last month, The Sun reported that Sally Ann Matthews would be leaving the ITV soap as Jenny.
The publication has now shared that Sally filmed her final exit scenes when the news of her ‘axing’ first came out at the start of August.
A source explained: “Sal wanted a lowkey exit.
“She said her goodbyes and has now left Manchester. She was filming her exit when news about her axing first came to light.”
They then added: “She didn’t want a big leaving do or anything and just wanted to leave as quickly as she could. She filmed her final scenes and was gone.”
The Coronation Street star is now said to have moved out of Manchester and to London to be with family.

Jenny Connor exit date from Coronation Street ‘revealed’
Coronation Street usually films around 6-8 weeks in advance of scenes being aired on screen.
With Sally being said to have filmed her exit around the start of August, we can expect Jenny’s exit scenes to air as soon as October.
But, how could Jenny leave? With Jenny losing the pub, returnee Eva Price is ‘set to takeover.’ With her place on the cobbles already unstable, Jenny’s now setting her sights on George Shuttleworth.
But, with George now buddying up with Christina Boyd, Jenny’s not impressed. And, she never has been lucky in love. But, is it one thing after another for Jenny?
Will she wonder whether there’s anything left for her on the Street and pack up her things? Or, will she leave for another reason?
ITV’s revelation that I’m A Celebrity… South Africa will return for a second series in 2026 has sparked a wave of criticism from viewers on social media.
The network confirmed the all-star spin-off would feature former campmates competing in the South African wilderness, with Ant and Dec returning as hosts.
However, the announcement was met with considerable backlash on X. “No thanks,” one user responded bluntly to the news. Another simply stated: “Sorry don’t like it.”
Several viewers expressed frustration with the format, particularly concerns about pre-recording. “The fun goes when its prerecorded unfortunately,” one fan commented, whilst another criticised the previous series, calling it “S***e last time it was on.”
Ant and Dec made the ITV I’m A Celebrity announcement on Monday
One particularly vocal critic highlighted multiple issues with the previous series: “I wasn’t a fan of the I’m a celeb last time. it was pre recorded, no voting & that 3 people had been evicted before 2 celeb entered.”
The pre-recorded nature of the 2023 series, which saw celebrities like Myleene Klass, Amir Khan, Gillian McKeith, Joe Swash and Carol Vorderman compete, clearly disappointed audiences accustomed to the interactive format of the main show.
Not all feedback was negative, however. Some fans expressed enthusiasm, with one writing: “Can’t wait this is way better than Australia one.”
Ant and Dec’s announcement was met with some negative responses
Another welcomed the new live element: “Finale live?? Oh let’s goooo can’t wait.” (sic)
ITV has introduced significant changes for the 2026 series, most notably a live grand final broadcast from London where viewers will determine the winner.
This marks a departure from the fully pre-recorded format of the 2023 series.
The network promises that returning campmates will face more extreme challenges than ever before.
According to the official announcement, contestants will encounter “relentless twists and turns” and learn that “with big decisions come even bigger consequences.”
The South African setting will reportedly provide tougher conditions than the Australian jungle. Producers have emphasised that trials will be “truly epic” and more demanding than previous iterations of the show.
The series will air on ITV1, STV and ITVX, though specific celebrity participants are yet to be revealed.
Despite the negative fan reaction, ITV executives and the show’s hosts have expressed strong enthusiasm for the upcoming series.
