Maya Jama has reportedly been secretly dating Manchester City star Ruben Dias for a month, after catching his eye when they first met at the European Music Awards.

The presenter, 30, made a huge splash at the awards show when she arrived in Elizabeth Hurley‘s iconic safety pin dress.

Now sources are claiming that Dias, who also attended the awards, was equally taken by Maya’s racy look, and after swapping numbers, their romance has heated up in the weeks since.

A source told The Sun: ‘Maya and Ruben swapped details at the EMAs and have chatted since, but things went up a gear in early December.

‘When Ruben got injured and had to miss the congested new year fixtures, he jumped at the chance to see in 2025 with Maya in Spain. Spending New Year’s Eve together was a real step forward in their relationship.

‘They get on really well and obviously make a gorgeous couple, but it’s early days.’

Maya and Ruben’s romance was first revealed when a social media snap emerged that showed them celebrating the New Year together in Ibiza.

While Maya did share a racy snap on her Stories while celebrating the New Year, she didn’t post any images with Dias.

Just last month, Maya shared a huge hint that she’s serious about her romance with Manchester City star Ruben.

Discussing her hopes for ‘marriage and kids’ in a recent interview, the Love Island host admitted that she ‘didn’t need anyone’ and would only date with intention.

The pair were pictured celebrating the New Year together in Ibiza this week after first been linked in November.

Speaking to the The Evening Standard last month, Maya explained: ‘I am so happy right now but the next person I meet I want to marry and have kids with, so obviously I’m feeling fussy.

‘I’ve created such a nice life for myself alone and I don’t want anyone who’s not going to add to that.

‘I’m in this lovely bubble and I don’t want you unless you make me happy. If you’re not, I kind of don’t need you.’

Maya announced her split from rapper Stormzy in July, after taking to Instagram with a joint statement stating: ‘We fell madly in love in 2014, broke up in 2019, and the spent five years manoeuvring life apart.

They confirmed the breakup was ‘final’ after previously going their separate ways following a five year relationship in 2019 and reconnecting in August 2023.

While it was thought the couple split after disagreements over when to settle down, with Stormzy more of a homeboy and Maya more career driven, last month she confirmed this wasn’t the case.

After photos emerged of the rapper, 31, his new girlfriend Victoria Monet, Maya took to Instagram to take the opportunity to say that the narrative ‘that I don’t want to settle down and have kids is a lieeeee.’

It had been reported that the former couple broke up because Maya was keen to focus on her career instead of settle down with the ‘homebody’ rapper.

Meanwhile Dias previously dated Love Island star Arabella Chi for three months, before he reportedly dumped her in the New Year of 2024. Arabella went onto appear on Love Island: All Stars just weeks later.

They met through mutual friends and tried to keep the romance under wraps, but were rumbled when they shared posts of the Eiffel Tower in November 2023.
