Sarah Ferguson is preparing to return to the UK after seven months away, reportedly renting a six-bedroom property as she plots a public comeback.
The 66-year-old is expected to move into the gated Home Counties residence imminently. Her return follows just days after Prince Harry arrived with Meghan Markle and their children.
Sarah’s new home reportedly costs £10,000 a week and comes after she and former husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor left Royal Lodge in February. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are returning to the UK after six years in the US, but their prospective new Cotswolds neighbors are reportedly unhappy about the couple moving in, citing fears over ‘unwanted attention’ to the area.
A source told The Sun, “She’s had her eyes on a return for some time but it takes time to find the right new house.” They added, “She hasn’t had to worry about accommodation for 20 years as she had Royal Lodge with Andrew. Now’s the right time to get back to her life.”
Removal vans were reportedly seen collecting some of Sarah’s belongings from Andrew’s home on the Sandringham estate this week.

She is expected to move into the new property imminently and could reportedly be settled there by Monday.
The six-bedroom home has three bathrooms and a “granny annex.” A skip was seen on the driveway while the property was cleared, with engineers also installing super-fast Wi-Fi.
The exact location has not been disclosed, although the house is said to be in the Home Counties and protected by gates.
Sarah was stripped of her Duchess of York title by King Charles III last October as scrutiny of her past association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein intensified.
She has made only a handful of public appearances since leaving Royal Lodge. Sarah was previously located at a luxury spa resort in Austria and is also reported to have stayed at a Swiss Alpine chalet in Verbier belonging to her former partner Paddy McNally.
Last year, it emerged that Sarah had written to Epstein and described him as a “supreme friend” despite his conviction for sex offenses. Further allegations about contact between them later emerged in files connected to Epstein.
US Congressman Suhas Subramanyam has urged Sarah to testify about their relationship, although there is no suggestion that she has committed a criminal offense.
Andrew also lost his royal titles and remains under police investigation over his links to Epstein. He was arrested on his 66th birthday in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office and denies any wrongdoing.
Sarah’s planned return comes after Harry and Meghan arrived in Britain with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in a sudden and shocking return to Britain.
The source said, “With everyone looking out for Harry and Meghan she thought she could slip back under the radar after seven months away.”
